This dog food is a great value- it is priced lower than many "garbage" brands, but contains high quality and healthy ingredients without any of the things you should never feed your dogs like corn and by-products. My dogs eat this food without hesitation and it does not cause any of the issues caused by other low quality foods such as tear stains, shedding, or poor coats. Quality of Ingredients While this food isn't at the absolute top in terms of ingredients, I'd say it is in the top 20%. It could be better, ( grain free, organic, etc), but it is free of the major things that you should avoid in a dog food- it contains no by-products, corn, dairy, or soy. The price is more in line with foods that contain many or all of those things, making this food a great value and a good choice for most dogs, Flavor Selection This food is available in several varieties- chicken and rice, lamb and rice, a healthy weight formula, and a puppy formula. My dogs showed no preference between the chicken and lamb varieties, they ate them both without hesitation.

By reading the label on the Kirkland Adult Dog Food, you realize that you aren't buying just another bargain store brand kibble. The first ingredient is chicken followed by chicken meal then brown rice and pearled barley. Also added are fruits like apples and cranberries, veggies (potatoes, carrots and peas), vitamins and minerals. Protein is a fairly decent 26% (but some of that % might come from brewer's yeast so the number might be a bit deceiving if you think it's all from the chicken and the chicken by product) The food is given 4 out of 5 stars on DogFoodAdvisor (enough of a recommendation for me to put the bag in the shopping cart and take it to the checkout). I got the bag of food home and mixed a little with their old food. The dogs ate every kibble. Continued to incorporate the new food with the old on a slow introduction basis and finally had them on the new food within 2 weeks. They loved the Kirkland Adult Dog Food and their coats are shiny and healthy. I like the fact that the food isn't full of grain or grain by products. And, the price is certainly right.

I love Kirkland brand for most of their products, their Dog food is not exception! I love Kirkland brand dog food and it is the only kind that I buy right now for my three little dogs. I like buying it in bulk because it seems to last longer since I have three dogs. It also saves me money and I look for that because I am on a budget, I feel that I am getting the best dog food on the market and I am also saving money. That is a major plus for me. I highly recommend Kirkland brand dog food to anyone, because of quality of ingredients and because of the great price. Quality of Ingredients The quality of ingredients in great! About the same as other more expensive dog foods. Kirkland brand is a brand you know you can always trust! I love Kirkland Brand. Flavor Selection There are only a few selections of flavor to choose from, but I just rotate each time I buy the dog food and my dogs are happy! I only bought this because I was being cheap and needed to save some money. I should have just bought the usual good stuff, because this was a waste of money and I had to eventually throw about 90% of the bag. Even my friends wouldnt take it as a donation and I couldnt return it to the store. The first noticeable thing was the food smells horrible, so I smelled inside the bag and it smells like rotting milk. REALLY BAD! Aside from that my dog started throwing up and having diarrhea after the 2nd or 3rd time eating this food. She has never been sensitive to anything besides bananas! Well, went bag to my dog food and the symptoms stopped. Im sure my dog if very thankful, because she refused to eat this after 1 week and started to lose weight! I was getting really scared so I started feeding her more human food to make up for the Kirkland dog food she wasnt touching. Do not recommend this food. Stay Away!!!

Quality of Ingredients If you read the ingredients that are listed on the back of the dog food bad, you will see that it compares to the expensive brands of dog good. We have three dogs. Two of the dogs are German Shepherds. Our dogs like this food. We also buy the Kirkland canned food. Flavor Selection You can choose from lamb or chicken. Both are good for dogs digestive systems.

This is a high quality dog food at a very reasonable price. Doggie lovers seem to have the idea that if dog food isn't pricey or sold in specialty stores or organic or whatever is the new "in" thing people that the dog food is below par. WRONG! Independent labs in conjunction with veterinarians have rate Kirkland dog food as the highest rating. Above Science Diet, above Iams and all the rest The dog food also is accurate in its labeling. Considering that my oldest dog is over 15 and has eaten this all her life..... Quality of Ingredients The dog food has all the vitamins, nutrients and protein that dogs need for a healthy life. The best fact is that every bag is numbered by batch and that information is computer linked to your account when you purchase at Costco. When there was a one batch recall due to processing not bad food, everyone received phone calls, emails and letters about the food, your purchase dates with the batch numbers and the number of the questionable batch. There was also a toll free number with a real, English as their first language human available to answer your concerns. Flavor Selection I wish there were other favors. Having a picky poodle makes for challenges.

we own a Alaskan Malamute and two French Brittany's. The dogs are active bird hunters and the dog food provides them with the energy required to be in the field all morning. The Malamute requires a special that the dog food provides. He is not allowed to have a grain diet because of his breed, this dog food provides him that. The dog food industry rates the food on a scale of 1-5. Kirkland is rated 4.5 on that scale.

My dogs love this food. It is full of the proper nutrients that all dogs need and apparently it tastes great to the dogs too. You can feel reassured reading the label that the first ingredient is not corn or some preservative. The dogs rush to the bowl when it's feeding time. Although I'm not my dog, I'm sure she would want me to rave about her food. Every night my springer spaniel wagges her tail and can't wait to have her yummy dog food! And when she final gets to enjoy it, the food never lasts for than five minutes! I buy the HUGE bags from Cosco and then dont have to worry about buying food for my little friend for at least 2 months! Really great food, for a really great price! The food is very good for the price. There are a few brands that I would prefer to feed my dogs if I had money but for my financial limitations this is the best food that I can buy my dogs. If you look at the ingredients it is a much food than most of them on the market. My little dachshund is a picky eater and I just throw a little bit of broth on the kibble and he just gobbles it down.
