I have used the Kiddopotamus Tiny Diner Portable Placemats with kids that I babysit and have found them to be very handy when taking them out to eat. I love that these mats are strong and easy to wipe or rinse off, and I love the little trough that catches food. I think the size is great as well - it provides a large area for kids to spread out their food and allows for some small spills, too. I do find that sometimes the suction cups don't stay stuck to the table very firmly and need to be pushed back down often. Also, when you roll up the mats, I wish they would bounce back to being flat again more easily instead of staying quite curled (maybe I should just be more diligent about storing them flat when they're not in use). And I agree that red sauces and other highly-colored food items can stain these mats easily. Other than these things, I really like this product and would recommend it to anyone with little kids.

I found one for my daughter at a garage sale and was surprised to find out that something like this existed. I liked it so much that I ended up buying a second one for my son when he was born. I love that it provides a clean surface for baby to eat off of when eating out or even at home. We loved it for travel especially. It is easy to clean, rolls up fairly small and definitely does what it was intended to do. The only cons I have is that my kids did like to pull it up off the table and play with it but usually would stop once they had food in front of them. It can start to look kind of scuffed up after lots of use. I also wish that they wouldn't pre-print raised designs on the mat. It just makes it harder to wipe clean after using it. The food catcher part could have been left off. It never really worked and food would end up on the floor anyway. I guess it does work to keep the mat rolled though. I think that something like this that was a little slimmer or less thick would be awesome but this product serves it's purpose and is very usefull.

We bought the Tiny Diner portable placemat for our son after seeing our 2-year-old nephew using it, and we are so glad that we did! Now that our 15-month-old son is eating table foods, we wanted a way to have a clean surface in restaurants. This placemat is the perfect solution! It's made of a rubbery material, and it has little suction cups that stick to the table. It also has a molded pocket that hangs off the table to catch falling food and anything else our son might drop! It lays nice and flat on the table and the food pretty much stays put on it, even though our child likes to fling his food everywhere. Once you've used it, it's easy to wipe clean with a napkin, rag, or baby wipe before leaving. It rolls up easily and fits inside it's little pocket, so it easily fits inside your diaper bag. We really couldn't live without it, and it has made our dining experiences so much nicer now that we don't have to worry about germy tables!

As a first-time mom, I added the Kiddopotamus Tiny Diner Portable Placemat to my baby registry because it looked kinda neat while I was browsing in the store. I never would have guessed it would be one of my very favorite baby items! The Tiny Diner placemat folds up easily, and was easy to always keep in my diaper bag. I requested it in a gender-neutral green color, so I could use it for subsequent kids. I used it a lot when my son was between the ages of 6-18 months, and eating a lot of finger foods. The Tiny Diner placemat made me feel that my son had a cleaner environment when we were eating out. The suction cups make it easy to stick to the table. My favorite part of the Tiny Diner placemat is how easy it is to clean. The mat wipes off easily with a damp cloth, and you are ready to roll it up, stick it in the diaper bag, and use it again. I have bought the Tiny Diner placemat for several of my expecting friends, and they all love it as well.

My family loves to eat out, but it's hard sometimes with a little boy! One thing I particularly hate is trying to clean off the restaurant table before he eats off it -- you know a toddler's food doesn't ever stay on their plate! I also hate trying to catch food before it gets on the floor or in his lap.  (My 2-year-old thinks he needs to scream and cry if he loses a single fry).  So I absolutely LOVE the Kiddopotamus Tiny Diner placemat! It rolls up into itself and fits perfectly inside my diaper bag -- so I always have it with me. I just pull it out and slap it on the table, and voila! My kid instantly has a clean eating surface! I love the food catcher that hangs off the edge of the table, too -- no more lost fries or dirty laps here! It has suction cups on the bottom, too, so it stays in place well (though they're not so strong that it's difficult to pull off the table when you're done.  And when you're done with your meal, the whole thing rolls right back up, and you don't have to worry about getting food in your diaper bag.  Wonderful invention. :)

The Kiddopotamus Tiny Diner Portable Placemat is perfect for using at home or on the go.  My daughter had a pink one that she used at home for every day meals.  It worked well to keep her food within reach and off the floor or her lap.  The suction cups stick to the table to hold any bowl or plate.  It comes off to be washed or it can be wiped clean.    We also used ours for going out to eat.  I like how it keep my baby's hands off the dirty table and gave her a place to play until we were served.  The placemat was a good place to hold her food and drink.  The placemat is made out of a material that holds the plate or cup and doesn't let it slide around reducing the chance of a dumped plate or spilled cup. I am not a big fan of the crumb catcher as it is more of a nuisance then a crumb catcher.  Overall, I like this placemat and have recommended it to friends and family for their little ones to use.

Whoever invented this is a genius!  We ate out a lot when we only had one child (now, with two kids two and under, it's not such a common occasion!). I got my money out of this product for sure!  I used to work in a restaurant, and I can safely say that I wouldn't want my baby eating off the table in most places!! It was a cinch to roll it up, throw it in the diaper bag or my purse, and lay it out on the table to provide a sanitary eating surface for my little guy. He happily ate off it! When he was little it worked great, but as he got stronger, he did eventually learn he could unsuction the mat from the table, which was annoying! Also, some foods do stain the material (like pasta sauce). The food catcher is a nice touch, but definitely doesn't catch everything. Still, it helps make less of a mess than with nothing. I think it also depends how energetic of an eater your child is ;-)  This is a great addition to any collection of kiddy gadgets!

My husband and I enjoy eating out so when we had our first child, we didn't change that.  We just started taking her with us!  As she got older and started eating with us, this became a little more difficult.  If we gave her a plate, we would have to hold on to it for the entire meal.   That's not so much fun while you are trying to eat as well.  We also tried to use a napkin.  Well, if anything is wet, it sticks to the napkin.  That's when we found the Tiny Diner.  I wasn't really sure about it but I was ready to give anything a try.  It was exactly what we needed!  It rolls up and fits nicely in the diaper bag.  It has suction cups on the bottom so that it sticks to the table while we are eating.  It really stays in place nicely.  When my daughter got older, she was able to pull it off but by that point, she was ready for a plate. And it is very easy to clean.  We just wipe it with a baby wipe while we are at the restaurant and then wash it when we get home.

This little placemat has saved us a lot of worrying about germs at resturants.  It's easy to tote since you just roll it up and go.  Washing it is a snap as well - we make sure to wash both sides.  It's thick material makes it very durable and it looks brand new after two babies have used it on a regular basis.  The suction cups make it stay in place on the table.  The baby can pull those up but after we put the food on the mat, that ceases.  The food catcher is wonderful!  Both of our babies have learned to check there when the food on the flat part is gone :)!

Received this as a gift....now I look at it as a fabulous product! I am sanitation-conscious/ "germophobe" and I really rely on this product to keep my daughter from picking up a lot of germs. Makes it easier to enjoy dining out without constant worry that she'll either lick the table or throw a restaurant plate!
