I am a fan of Special K nutritioon products and have followed a diet plan that included many of their food and drinks. I pucked up the Special K Protein shake after beginning a new workout and wanting to add extra protein to my diet. I chose the Special K brand because i am familiar with their other great tasting products and figured to give it a try. I purchased a few packs of these with a coupon while they were on sale so I got a good deal. They are tasty, unlike some other protein shakes and drinks, they are great for on the go or a quick "snack" during the day and they are filling. My only con to the Kelloggs Special K Protein shakes is that without a coupon or a sale, these are very pricey especially if you drink them everyday or even a few times a day. If the price of these came down a bit I would be more willing to purchase more of these. I still have recommended them to a few others who also use protein supplements.

I was drinking a lot of these shakes while trying out the Special K diet plan a little while back. While I am no longer trying their diet plan, these shakes are something that I have carried over into regular usage because of their whopping amount of protein and tastiness. I do not count on them to fill me up as a meal, but use them as a dietary supplement for the whole family, and everyone enjoys them. I like to give them to my children in place of their usual chocolate milk regime whenever possible ( because they are rather pricey drinks and I cannot always afford them), and they barely even notice the switch because they taste so much like regular chocolate milk! I also like including them when packing my husbands lunch as a quick pick me up snack during the day, he is more hooked on them than I am. Me, personally, I like to drink them in between meals to stave off hunger pains or sugar cravings. They are a guilt free snack for me. Drink them really cold, though, or the taste is not as good.

I tried this shake when I was trying to get on a better health regimen - thinking it would be easy to just grab it and drink your breakfast. So I got up all ready to go and tried to drink this - I couldn't do it. The first few sips were really thick, I figured I didn't shake it up enough so I resealed it and tried it again, no luck. It was just too thick for my taste. I used the rest of what I had bought by watering it down with non fat skim milk. It was very pleasant tasting after that. I don't use the product anymore but think if you like thick smoothie style drinks you may enjoy this.

When the commercial says it subsides your hunger throughout the day, they aren't bluffing. I buy a new pack of these every week. I have one almost every morning with breakfast. They subside my hunger until lunch time so I don't snack in between. The protein is also really good for you, so it's a win-win situation.

I started drinking these because I don't think I get enough protein every day. I was also hoping to maybe gain weight from them rather then lose it. My doctor thought it might help me gain some of the weight I recently lost because I didn't use them as a replacement for a meal like most people do. I simply drank them just because and I had no problems eating right after. They made me feel full for maybe ten minutes, so they might not work as good for someone that's trying to replace a meal. They have 15 grams of protein, which is nice, but for how expensive they are you can buy shakes with three times as much protein for the same price. Sometimes they will offer 2 free, for a total of 6 a package and that's a better deal. I stopped using them though because I couldn't afford them anymore. I thought every flavor tasted great, although I know someone that couldn't stand the taste of any of them. My least favorite was the strawberry banana, so I usually just got the plain flavors. They were the perfect size and they were great to take on the go. I wish they would go down in price because I miss them!
