Keflex (Cephalexin) is a prescription antibiotic that was prescribed by my physician after I had surgery to remove a couple of scars caused by chickenpox.  Although the side effects were minimal, I did develop a yeast infection during day 4 of this medication. I am still on the medication for the next two weeks, but I have had no side effects since then. While Keflex is one of the best antibiotics used by doctors, it is not for everyone. In particular, those with an allergy to penicillin should NOT use Keflex due to the possibility of an allergic reaction. Currently, I take one twice a day for the next two weeks. The dosage is very dependent upon your condition, and you doctor will decide what is best for you. This is the first time I have ever been prescribed Keflex, and I will say that it has substantially helped me post surgery. In short, this is a great antibiotic, but make sure to ask your doctor about the possible side effects and remember to take it at the same time everyday until you are finished with your prescription.
