We started baby wearing when my daughter was a newborn. Not really knowing what else was on the market we had bought a Baby Bjorn. The Baby Bjorn really killed my back, even with a small baby. When my daughter was about seven or eight months I started becoming more educated in all the available baby wearing methods - wraps, soft structured carriers, Mei Tai's, etc. and invested a lot (for a piece of cloth) in a beautiful woven wrap. The learning curve was quite high in the wrap and although front carries were easy to get the hang of I had bought it for back carries and was just not getting the results I was looking for. Which was when I decided a Mai Tei was probably a better fit for our needs. Turns out I was right. The Mei Tai is very easy to use and very comfortable for both baby and Mommy/Daddy. We are glad to have found a carrier that works well and easy for back carries. I would recommend this.
