Johnson's, did I get a bad batch?

3

I'm going to give **Johnson's Natural Baby Lotion** a 3-star rating because I'm hoping my experience is a fluke. I've used Johnson's Natural Baby Shampoo and Johnson's Natural Foaming Body Wash with excellent results, but their baby lotion is another story. This product is 99% natural and contains no parabens or petroleum. My issue with this product is that it smells like it went bad and I've only had it for about 4 months. Natural products are generally good for a year before you should toss them out, so I don't know if it was old when I bought it or if it doesn't last long. Besides the change in smell, I really like this product. Effectiveness I like to put this on my son after he gets out of the bath. We are currently using the matching Johnson's Natural Baby Shampoo, so I like to layer the products because they smell good. My son doesn't have dry skin, but I know the skin on little ones is more sensitive than adults, so using a product like this is important to me. I do think Burt's Bees Baby Lotion is better, but it is also 3-4 times the cost of this product. Scent When it hasn't gone bad, the scent is quite nice. It's a soft baby scent that is very mild and gentle smelling. The bottle says that it is an "ALLERFREE fragrance". Absorption This rubs in nicely and doesn't leave my little guy feeling greasy or anything.

Johnson's Natural Nourishing Baby Lotion is for MOM & Baby!

Ok, so when I saw this product on the shelf, I honestly was not sure if it would work since it is like 98% natural or something. Sometimes, it is the preservatives and stuff that make for great smelling lotion and sometimes, when we think of natural ... does it really mean no scent or a plastic scent? Well, here is my take on the lotion. Scent: This is one thing I totally disliked about the lotion. The scent is so called natural, I guess that is supposed to mean earthy or something? However, it smells like clay, almost a little mildewish and not the best. My husband hated it when I put it on the baby because of course, we are used to the so called baby scent ... and my husband always said if he did not know or if someone were to hold the baby and not know that it were the LOTION that smelled funny, people would think the baby smelled bad and was not well taken care of. Just like us as adults, we want to smell good because smelling good usually means 'clean'. Anyhow, the LOTION itself: AWESOME! It works great! made from vegetables? WOW! But it seriously is awesome! It absorbs almost immediately and creates like a soft cover over the skin that feels soooo smooth. I loved it and my baby loved it and my husband loved it. The only thing I would change is the scent. The performance of the lotion itself is BEYOND compare better than ANY baby lotion and ALMOST any general lotion I have tried. I love it! If it were not for the scent, I would be a regular!!!

Great Natural Product

4

We were very fortunate that someone gave us both the Johnsons and Johnsons All Natural Body wash as well as the Johnsons and Johnsons All Natural Body lotion shortly after our little girl was born. I was really happy to try out this product. Previously, I had loved the smell of the original Johnsons and Johnsons Baby Wash and the Original Johnsons and Johnsons Baby Lotion, but I wanted to try out a more natural product since a baby's skin can be so sensitive. I was very happy with the all natural products. They had a very light and gentle fragrance which was a plus since I was sad to lose the traditional smell of the Johnsons and Johnsons Baby Wash and Baby Lotion. It was also nice to know that the baby was getting a gentle type of wash and lotion instead of one with harsh chemicals. I recommend trying this product out if you want something natural.

A good alternative on a tight budget

4

I strive to use all natural products for my family and especially on my children, but on a small budget, it just isn't always possible. Most all natural products are very pricey and it's just not practical for us to spend so much money one something that is quickly used! No, this lotion is not is not 100% natural, but even Johnson's states on the bottle that it is only 98% natural. So it's not as though they are decieving you! I figure 98% is better than most of the other products on the market and it is something we can afford! It is paraben free and allergen tested. It doesn't have the greatest fragrance ever, but it is not enough to deter me from continuing to use it. It does a great job moisturizing my baby's skin and seems very gentle. Overall, I will continue to use this on my baby and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a more natural alternative to the other baby products out there that are filled with nasty chemicals.

Johnson's Natural Baby Lotion is so sweet.

I am skeptical about what lotions actually work and most of them are either too greasy or too watery so they defeat the purpose of evening out dry skin. When I opened the bottle I was pleasently surprised at how good the lotion smelled. It was a very soft, sweet smell that wasn't over-powering nor too weak. It came out of the bottle very easily and when I moved it between my fingers it was almost silky feeling like a soft flower petal. How wonderful! To have a great aroma and silky feeling all in one lotion! I decided to try it on myself to test it and see if I had any type of reaction to it, but I never did and it soaked into my skin very quickly and I didn't have to use alot of the lotion at all. That was a major blessing that not only saves sanity knowing your skin will be silky soft and smelling good for a very long time, but that you wouldn't have to apply a bunch of it or repeat the process just to get results.

Pleasantly surprised with Johnson's Natural Baby Lotion

I am pleasantly surprised by Johnson's Natural Baby Lotion. Johnson's has not been a brand I would have turned to to look for natural options, but they got me with this one. I am practical, busy, and value conscious, but I do like products with fewer chemicals, and I can't always buy more expensive organic products. Johnson's may not be organic or without any undesirable additives, but I think it is a good option for those searching for something a bit more natural. At least it is paraben free and tested for common allergens. I like this lotion and how it spreads and covers and moisturizes with just a small pump. I use the lotion for myself and my husband uses it primarily as an all over body lotion for us. It is creamy but not thick. Once I put it on and rub it in, I don't feel like I am wearing lotion. There is no greasy afterfeel like some other organic lotions. It seems to have fragrance, which might be a turn off for some. The bottle is simple and nice with a nice wide pump. Now if we could just get rid of plastics...
