Nothing Special

I have used this color glaze in the past with other sheer blonde products. I have dark dirty blonde hair and was expecting this glaze to give me a warmer blonde color. However, I did not see any results when it came to coloring my hair, I even left it on for over the recommended amount of time, but still did not get results. It did not even brighten my highlights like other John Frieda products do for my hair. Aside from the fact that it was not effective, it made my hair really shiny to the point that it looked greasy. The only thing I liked about it was it smelt really good and it made my hair smell awesome. But overall, I was really disappointed by this product and I feel like this glaze was a waste of my money. I would not recommend it. Effectiveness Does not change the color of your hair. Makes hair too shiny and oily. You are better off using styling oil. Ease of Application Easy to use just apply to wet hair and rinse out.

adds a lot of shine

My once lustrous locks are now showing their age - they are thinning and damaged from too much home dye , lack of estrogen and aging in general , I guess. I have been on a mission to find products that are gentle to my hair and also can enhance any remaining luster to my once crowning glory. My sister told me that she had tried John Frienda glaze for blondes (I am a natural redhead, helped along these days with coloring :( ), and she was satisfied with the results so I gave it a try . I found the one for redheads on sale at a local discount center and bought one -  immediately I noticed a restoration of color to my hair - colored red hair fades the fastest of all , some shine and my hair had a niceer texture. I was sold and went back to buy the remaining three bottles they had on sale lest they sell out . This is now a permanent part of my hair regimen - it does some gloss and shine and will make your color last longer .

Don't expect great shine from John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze

I have blonde hi-lighted hair. I also blow dry every time I wash and over time the bleaching and hot air causes my hair to get dull and dry. I know that going to the salon to get a gloss/glaze is the best way to add the shine back to my hair but it's really expensive. I came across John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze while shopping in my local drugstore and since it was on sale I thought I'd give it a try. I applied it to my dry hair (you can also use it on wet hair) and let it absorb before washing and conditioning as usual. I then blew it dry and hoped for luminous shine. Well, it wasn't there. I couldn't tell much, if any, difference at all. I was very disappointed because I use lots of other John Frieda products and get great results. I think you get better results from using a shine serum after you style your hair than using this glaze. Looks like I'll have to go back to the salon if I want to put the shine back into my blonde hair.

Great product

If you cant afford to go to the salon try John Frieda luminous color glaze! Its a very thick product which you leave on your hair 5 minutes or longer. You can get it colorless or one that departs color which is nice between coloring. I use it to enhance my color weekly. It says to use 3 or more times a week. It leaves my hair incredibly soft and shiny. It helps to extend my color so I dont have to dye every 4 weeks and I can extend it to 5 or 6 weeks. The colorless one imparts a very nice shine that lasts. The only thing I dont like is it makes my hair sorta limp because I have very fine and thin hair. But its worth it for the color it imparts and shine, it lasts for a week and the next day my hair is not limp after a washing. I use the one for caramel to honey but have used the champaign one as well. Like I said the colorless glaze is wonderful for giving just a shine to your hair when you cant get to the salon or want to do it between colorings.

Not sure what this actually does...

To be completely honest, I shouldn't  have really bothered spending the money on this.  Let me just say that I'm a big fan of John Frieda Sheer Blonde products and use them regularly, so when I saw this in the store I was so excited to try it.  I followed the instructions exactly and then...nothing.  I mean, it smelled pretty good, as all their products do, but that was about it.  Actually, it made my hair rather greasy afterwards and I had to wash my hair again that day.  Perhaps the effect is just so subtle that I didn't notice it? I didn't expect a huge difference, but I did expect some sort of change.  As for the price and quantity, both were on par with what I usually pay for John Frieda and quality hair products so no issues there.  It was also readily available in pretty much every store I went to.  All in all, I really wanted to like this product, but it just didn't do anything for me.  Maybe someone else will have better luck.

Good product for stretching time between trips to the salon.

I am a firm believer that no store bought product is a REPLACEMENT for having your hair professionally olored or highlighted at the salon, but this product works VERY well for touch ups to brighten your locks in between trips to the salon. This products really brightens up dull or brassy looking hair without noticeably altering the color. It just looks SO much more shiny, healthy and vibrant. The [rice of this product is very reasonable compared to an additional trip to the salon or other similar (but much more pricey) products. Ofter just one use, your hair is shiney, manageable, silky, healthy and beautiful... and the effects last for several days! I only have to use this product twice (maybe three times tops) a week. This product also helps reduce frizziness on those humid days. The only drawbacks are that is smells pretty bad, it somehwat messy to apply and sometimes dies my scalp (but then again it is technically a dye). All in all, this is a useful product for in between trips to the salon.

Extends your color with shine

This is a wonderful product.  I hope the rumors of it being discontinued are not true.  I use this after my conditioner to keep my color fresh longer.  You can see the difference in how your hair shines after one use.  If you have color treated hair, it will remove the dullness that comes a few weeks into your color. You can actually go longer between touch-ups by using this.
