This is a very good shampoo for anyone that needs a moisturizing shampoo. It moisturizes your hair, and provides the right amount of shine without looking oily. It lathers up well with lots of water. It cleans your hair well and rinses out easily. However I would not recommend daily use for anyone who has natural oily hair, only on occasion. It's amazing how soft my hair is after using this shampoo. Effectiveness This shampoo is good at providing your hair with a good amount of shine, and moisturizing your hair. My hair is always soft and easy to manage after using brilliant brunette. It's easy to brush and style after using this shampoo as well. Scent The scent is one of my favorite things about this shampoo. It smells fresh, clean, and invigorating. The scent lasts a long time but is not overwhelming. I feel a lot better after using this shampoo. The scent is noticeable after use but not overwhelming.

I think it is amazing that John Freda has created a shampoo designed specifically for brunettes. You always see products for blonds, enough that it makes you wonder if they really do have more fun. This shampoo is great for my brown hair. I have natural resish highlights that shine in the sun, and this shampoo cleans my hair while also showing my highlights. I feel like it is my natural way of giving myself better highlights without the harsh chemicals of hair dyes that only ruin your hair. I also like the smell, it is light and refreshing and gives you a sense of clean. This shampoo also gets your hair, doesn't leave it oily looking or feeling. Overall, a well rounded great product that really enhances brown hair. I do wish the bottle was larger. It is a great size to throw into a gym bag and carry it with you, but if you leave it in your shower, it tends to run out quickly. A variey of sizes for bottles would be nice to have.

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shine Release Moisturizing Shampoo works best when paired up with its partner conditioner. It makes hair very shiny and silky, it gives it a unique texture and makes hair very manageable for styling. I wouldn't bet that it keeps the color for longer than other shampoos, but it does make the color stand out, be more brilliant, just like its name suggests. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't come in larger packages, and the tube is pretty small. The price is a bit high for such small quantity and it is not available in larger containers anywhere. So if you want shiny, silky hair, you just need to pay a bit more for the shampoo and conditioner. The other John Frieda products are really good too, but the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Shine Release Moisturizing Shampoo I can say from experience that is a very good product.

I have been using Brilliant Brunette for about two weeks now.  I like to switch shampoos every so often because I feel like my hair gets use to them and needs the change.  I had never tried John Frieda products and decided to get it a try.  I was a little worried that the shampoo would over moisturize my hair and make it oily feeling.  But when I washed my hair, it did not feel like that at all.  The shampoo also has a really nice smell.  It is not too strong of a smell.  I use both the moisturzing shampoo and conditioner and it makes my hair feel soft and clean.  I was surpised that it actually made my hair shiney as well.  I would like the bottle to be a little bigger than what it is.  The shampoo is a little expensive.  It is around 6.99 for a bottle.  I would not pay full price for it.  I see them on sale every so often and actually got both the shampoo and conditioner on sale.  It is a nice product and I would recommend it.

I LOVE this moisturizing shampoo! I have very curly hair that dries out easily and this seems to be one of the best shampoos I have found to tame my hair. Plus it smells great! It has that "just went to the salon" smell that is really a nice perk for you if you are in to that sort of thing. I use it in conjunction with the moisturizing conditioner and frizz ease serum to get the softest, most shiny results possible. My only concern with this product is that it seems like over time, the moiturizing agents in the shampoo build up in my hair and make it fell kind of "heavy" almost like the fibers are coated and weighed down. This seems to happen in a 3-6 month period and when that happens I usually switch to a less dense/creamy formula to strip away some of the build up.  This is not a major problem or anything but I have found that the moisturizing shampoo works best if it is rotated with other less dense formulas every once in a while. Plus it makes it really nice to come back to it after not using for a while. It has that "trying for the first time" feeling again, which I really like. All in all, if you have intensely dry/brittle/curly hair I highly recommend this shampoo.

I'm a natural brunette and I'm totally loving this product!  The name probably caught my attention at first, plus John Frieda is an expert in hair care, so I decided to give this a try.  It has become my daily shampoo.  It really lathers well and rinses out good.  I love the scent of this shampoo and it is very fragrant.  It leaves my hair feeling clean, as well as moisturized and nourished.  I always follow up with the Brilliant Brunette Conditioner as well.  Since using this product I have noticed that my hair seems healthier and it is definitely shinier.  It truly does feel more mositurized.  My hair now feels soft and smooth, instead of dry, coarse and frizzy.  I wouldn't say that I've noticed more dimesion in my hair color, but I do like the fact that it is specifically formulated for my hair color.  I have been very pleased with John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette Moisturizing Shampoo and would definitely recommend it to others.

I started re-using this shampoo after finding an older container in my 'rejects' cabinet. I can't remember why I put it with all those other bottles! My hair has been a range of shades, from bright blond to dark brown, and is currently a light brown with no highlights. This shampoo makes my hair sparkle! I love how moisturizing it is without weighing down my fine hair. I like the clean scent that doesn't make my eyes water (some shampoos have too much fragrance!) and lasts all day.  The product lathers well and you get plenty of uses from just one bottle. I'm usually able to get coupons from their site and match them up with store sales for a great deal! I've found that the shampoo works best with the 'matching' conditioner for maximum shine and moisturization.  If I had to change one thing about this product, I'd like to have it offered in larger bottles.  I appreciate the tubes but I'm ready to commit to this shampoo and would love to have tons of it!

I am a natural brunette who is easily bored and often colors her hair different shades of browns depending on the season.  This summer my hair seemed to definetely get a beating between the sun and pool and coloring and seemed so dull and rough.  I finally realized it had no shine and I looked so much older and unhealthy that way also.  I saw a great sale for this product, the conditioner, and also John Frieda glaze I had been wanting to try. I picked them up at a popular drugstore chain for a great price.  After 2 shampoos I noticed a difference and felt like my hair was back to it's shiny healthy self.  I did not think the smell was bad or great.  I loved the bottle design and that it is easy to squeeze.  The natural looking shine in my hair is back and I am so excited to use the Joh Frieda brunette glaze to help intesnify my natural and colored brunette hair.  Definetly will recommend this product to my other brunette friends!

I am a stay at home Mom of just two children.  I feel very lucky about that often and still my life seems as busy as if I had 10 children.  None the less, I am extremely budget conscious since my husband is in sales and things are not as they used to be financially.  If I had not been able to purchase this product for almost free I may have never tried it because the cost was too expensive.  Before children, my husband and I were together for 10 years and were not frugal at all.  This type of shampoo would definitely have been on my list in the old days.  What is nice is I can usually get this product for a reasonable cost but the scent and texture of the product take me back to the old days of having my hair cut and colored by someone else.  The salon experience I miss now.  It is amazing that a product could make me feel like I'm getting the same awesome products that I used to be able to afford, in my current budget.  I love this product.  It makes my hair smell and feel awesome.  It is shinier now which is uplifting since as I age, my hair has lost some luster...especially since having children.  I feel like it doesn't wash out my color like other shampoos.  It says illuminating on the bottle, but I didn't really believe it would do what it has done.  I would tell you to try this product and you too will believe everything it says on the bottle!
