Satisfying as a snack.

I buy Jimmy Dean D-Lights Sandwiches in lieu of a McDonald's breakfast sandwiches. Overall, Jimmy Dean's has a decent flavor to them. They do taste like frozen sandwiches, but they are so what else can I expect. The meat in the D-Lights Turkey Sausage has a very good taste and texture! It is one of my favorite ones. It's not a huge sandwich so I eat these as more of a snack. I would recommend them overall.

Better than expected

Jimmy Dean's d-lights turkey sausage sandwiches are really a force to be reconned with for many reasons. For one thing, the company was smart enough to tap into at least 2 major markets that a lot of other companies forgo - The health folks and the large portion of Americans that do not eat pork yet get tired of everything being supplemented with beef all the time. As a health conscious person myself, I was really impressed and excited that come company finally realized that we like breakfast sandwiches too, and beef is often high in calories and fat so many, like me would skip this option entirely. My husband, on the other hand - does not eat pork and - because of concerns about cholesterol, he also has cut down beef and whole eggs. This product really fits well into both of our lifestyles. Now, as far as taste is concerned - I was very pleased with it. The eggs are fluffy rather than stiff and it tasted real rather than a quickly manufactured shelf stocker. The sausage is tender which was somewhat a delight in itself as turkey sausage can sometimes become dry or taste a bit chunky. I take off the cheese in order to shave a few calories off as well that way, I get the power packed protein without any excess calories I don't need. The muffin leaves nothing to be missed and it balances well with the taste and texture of the sandwich as a whole. It is a quick and healthy, take and go style sandwich that you could also enjoy just as well on a lazy sunday morning with your favorite beverage and the Sunday paper. It in that way reminds me of a combination of simpler times + todays innovation which in my book = success.

Great tasting & less calories

Jimmy Dean D-Lights is great for the calorie conscious. It is great tasting as well as filling. The turkey sausage and egg taste fresh and the english muffin is not dry like some other breakfast sandwiches. The size of the sandwich is great too--it's hard to believe that you can eat something so satisfying and not have to worry about any calorie regret! I am satisfied for a few hours which is great as well. Would recommend to someone looking for a fairly healthy breakfast option.

It's not McDonald's, but it will do!

I absolutely love McDonald's breakfast sandwiches, but I eat them very sparingly because they are so bad for you.  When I saw the **Jimmy Dean D-Light Sandwiches **in the freezer section of the commissary, I picked up a box hoping they would be a healthy alternative to the fast food version that I love so much. The new **Jimmy Dean D-Light Sandwiches **are breakfast sandwiches that claim to have 1/3 less calories and 1/2 the fat of other frozen breakfast sandwiches.  There are two varieties to choose from: *Turkey Sausage* or *Canadian Bacon*.  Both varieties come on a whole grain English muffin with an egg white patty and cheese. I bought the **Turkey Sausage **variety and was both impressed and disappointed with the product.  I was impressed with the overall flavor of the sandwich.  It was reminiscent of my fast food sandwich, but nowhere near it in taste.  The English muffin was good and the sausage patty was pretty decent, considering that it is turkey sausage.  One of my complaints is the egg white patty.  The texture of the egg was firm and spongy.  The feeling was not so great in my mouth.  I couldn't even taste the cheese; if I didn't see it on there, I wouldn't have known that there was any cheese on it.  I think one of the biggest downfalls of this sandwich is that since it is so healthy, there isn't much to make the sandwich moist.  It seems pretty dry.  Overall, it was better than I expected. **Nutrition: **260 calories, 7g fat, 40mg cholesterol, 30g carbs, 18g protein. **The Scoop!** I like these sandwiches because I feel like I am cheating and eating something bad for me, but without all the fat and calories.  Except for the egg, the sandwich is pretty decent.  They make a nice snack, whether it is for breakfast or not.  I will be buying these again.

Yummy and satisfying for any time of day, not just breakfast.

Because of their robust calorie and fat count, I have made a studied point of avoiding delicious frozen breakfast sandwiches but I couldn't resist trying ***Jimmy Dean D-Lights Turkey Sausage Muffin Sandwichs***. Following the heating instructions, In a minute or so I had a delicious hot sandwich which equalled or surpassed any fast food creation. **WHAT THIS IS:** A ***Jimmy Dean D-Lights Turkey Sausage Muffin Sandwich ***is rather like a McMuffin, every bit as good and probably better for us, made as it is with a whole grain muffin, egg white, and turkey (instead of pork) sausage. According to the label information, this healthier option has less than half the fat and one third fewer calories than the leading breakfast sandwich and I believe it. **STATS:** One ***Jimmy Dean D-Lights Turkey Sausage Muffin Sandwich ***is a single serving which contains 260 calories with 70 calories from fat. There are 8 grams Total Fat, 3.5 grams Saturated Fat, zero Trans Fat, 2 grams Polyunsaturated Fat, 2.5 grams Monounsaturated, 35 mg. Cholesterol, 760 mg. Sodium, 2 grams Dietary Fiber, 3 grams Sugars, and 18 grams Protein along with 4% D.V. Vitamin A and 20% Calcium. **MY VIEWPOINT:** A ***Jimmy Dean D-Lights Turkey Sausage Muffin Sandwich ***isn't really all **that** low in calories or fat and just one of these provides 31% of a person's sodium for the day. On the other hand, the one which I enjoyed for supper one evening was enough to satisfy me and alleviate hunger pangs until the next morning and it packed 35% of my day's quota of Protein. All that considered, ***Jimmy Dean's D'Lights Turkey Sausage Muffin Sandwiches*** really are a pretty good deal and delightful in the truest sense of the word.

Surprisingly tasty

I have tried all three varieties and find them pretty tasty. It's true that it's not like McDonald's or Hardees, but it's also half the calories! I would strongly caution to be very careful not to over microwave. This causes them to be rubbery and the cheese to burn. If you find the right balance, they are quite good!

Jimmy Dean's D-Lights Sandwiches are forgettable.

Jimmy Dean's D-Light Sandwiches with turkey sausage are forgettable and a waste of calories.  I thought it tasted bland and was not nearly a satisfying breakfast sandwich.  I could tell it had been frozen and it was very disappointing.  I bought a box of these a long time ago and they are still sitting in my freezer.  My husband won't eat them either.  I feel the sausage could have much more flavor and it seems rare that frozen egg product would ever taste acceptable.  The cheese also lacks flavor and when I cooked it according to the directions, it seemed to not be melty with that good breakfast sandwich smell.   I thought the bread part also tasted like it had freezer burn.  So, while this sandwich may be healthier than fast food, it ends up being a bland breakfast option that will make you search for something else to eat after you consume it because of how non satisfying it is.  I would recommend looking elsewhere

Like rubber?

1

I always thought Jimmy Dean made a great product.  These breakfast sandwiches using the turkey sausage are only edible if you remove the egg!  I tried cooking them on several different temps and times in my micro and still rubbery! I won't buy them again.
