Husqvarna Viking is a nice sewing machine
This is the first sewing machine I have owned, it was purchased for me by my grandma in 1998. I have used it on and off over the years and it has been overall a very good product. It is easy to use for the most part and pretty reliable. I have had a few problems with it messing up the stitching but I took it back to JoAnn Fabrics and they were able to service it and get it working properly again. The only issue I am having with the machine right now is that when I put the plastic cover over the bobbin area, it seems to get the thread caught up in it. So I just use the machine without that cover on it and it works fine. The different stitching options are very nice and they are easy to select. I also like the fact that it winds the bobbin automatically. One minor thing that some people may not like is that Husqvarna strongly recommends that you use a high-end (and more expensive) thread that won't give off as many fibers as the lower quality thread. For me this isn't a big deal because I don't sew very much but for people who sew a lot it could be a disadvantage. Overall this is a very nice, durable machine that I enjoy using.
