Cheap is expensive

you have what you pay for. The dryer is small, it does its job until the filter lint breaks, I have changed it 2 times, and now the timer knob on the front also broke. You should create or put good quality parts so they are not constantly damaged

Piece of Junk

This is absolutely the worse machine that we have ever owned. We purchased it and 4 weeks later the store replaced it due to the loud squeaking noise. Then it started squeaking again and the Hotpoint tech came out to repair it. the next use it squeaks again just like before. And now it's out of warranty. Never will I buy or recommend Hotpoint.

Gets the job done

4

Our rental included one of these Hotpointe dryers. When I first looked at it, I thought that I would never choose to buy a dryer like this, simply from the way that it looks. But after using it for several years, I found that it gets the job done, even if it has quirks and hiccups along the way. Performance Even though it can sound bad when running, it does get the job done of drying clothes without ruining them. Durability This dryer has had a loud squeaking sound off and on for about the entire time that we have used it. It sounds like metal rubbing on metal. I think it may be caused by the drum inside expanding when it gets hot and rubbing on something outside of it, but I have never been able to positively identify it. It can be very irritating as it can easily be heard throughout the entire house (this is one of the hiccups I mentioned). Also, one of the knobs for setting the temperature of the drying has broken off, although you can still turn the pin behind it to make the adjustments. The buzzer has also not worked for several years.

HotPoint Dryer is a Great Value

4

The HotPoint Dryer is a great deal if you are on a budget and you are looking to purchase a good dryer for cheap. HotPoint is much cheaper than other dryers out there. Although it's inexpensive, it does not lack in quality. The quality of this dryer is just as good as others. The drying time is what you would expect in a dryer. You can fit a large amount of clothes in this dryer, surprisingly. I've stuffed this dryer full and yet all of my clothes came out very dry. I've never had any issues with this dryer. The design is plain and simple. It is normal size for a dryer. It's easy to clean and the lint collector is also easy to clean. The machine itself doesn't get dirty easily. The durability of this dryer is phenomenal, especially considering the price. It lasted me well over 5 years. I eventually gave it to my brother, who was in desperate need of a reliable dryer. It was well worth the purchase.

Quality Standard Dryer

4

I purchased a Hotpoint Dryer about 5 years ago and it hasn't failed me yet! It's not a fancy dryer, but it dries clothes and takes care of them while drying. I have a large family so I'm constantly washing and drying clothes, almost daily. For the price I paid for my dryer I've got great use out of it and it's still working well. The only issue I have had is with a belt and my husband was able to fix that himself not costing us a penny. My clothes come out with minimum wrinkles and lint free. It's easy to clean the filter and isn't loud when in use. It's a very basic standard dryer that dries clothes. If I had to buy a new dryer today I would probably buy another Hotpoint because of how durable this one is. I use it to dry everything from my huge comforters to my delicate silk blouses. I've never had anything ruined in my dryer. I think it's one of the best dryers for the price range. Load Capacity Dries very large loads in a minimum time span. Dries comforters and large clothing items. Performance Dries what I need dried in a short amount of time. Ease of Use Very easy to use. Shut the door and turn a switch to turn on. Durability Has held up 5 years using daily. Design Basic white dryer there's nothing fancy about it.

good dryer for decent price

Got this dryer to replace a more expensive, fancier Whirlpool that went out after a year. So I was looking for something on the cheaper side that had the basic functions since I wasn't thrilled about having to buy a new dryer again so soon. I found this one on sale. After looking through the reviews there I was a bit skeptical but took the plunge and went ahead and purchased it online. I've had it for about a year now and I must say this dryer runs great. It's very basic. Nothing fancy about it at all. No bells and whistles. Fit very well in our space (closet type of laundry area). I was concerned about it not performing well since it's a name I haven't heard much about. Pretty quiet I think for a dryer. There is no light in it. I kind of wish there was but it's not much of a big deal for me. The lint trap is in front, so it is easy to access and easy to clean. Some lint does get left in the little slot but it is very easy to access with a vacuum hose or smaller hand vacuum to clean out. It does feel a little flimsy but as long as you take care of it and don't beat it up it's going to do its job. The door is reversible. I did reverse it when I got it to make it easier to transfer clothes from the washer. Dries a full load of clothes on a lower setting. I usually place it on the less dry setting and when it's done my clothes are pretty much dry anyway. I don't really think that it needs to be set any higher than that. It does not have a buzzer to let you know when the load is finished but that is not a big deal to me. It fits larger loads pretty well. I can dry a queen size comforter with no problems. Clothes are generally not wrinkled when I pulled them out which is a plus.

Good dryer for the price

I have owned my hot point dryer for a year. I have never owened a hot point before.. Our old dryer went out unexpectedly and we had to get a cheap dryer. This dryer fit in our budget and gets the job done. The only complaint I have is the lint trap. It is on the inside of the dryer door, it doesn't seem to catch all the lint and I have to get the vacuum down in it to get all the lint. I hope it last for several years. If your in the market for an affordable dryer this is it. It does not have alot of bells and whistles on it but like I said it drys my clothes very well. When it's time to get a new washer we will look at the hotpoint models available. Overall we are happy with our purchase. Load Capacity I wash extra large loads in the washer and have no issues drying them in the dryer. Design The lint trap is in an odd spot and doesn't seem to get all the lint.
