I have owned this Hotpoint gas range for about 5 years now and I am very pleased with its performance . The gas burners on top cook food evenly , much better than an electric range . The oven controls are digital for preheat , bake or broil and there is a clock and timer for cooking . There is also a light for the oven to better view the pie or cake you are baking so you can peek in the window of the oven door rather than having to open it and let heat escape . The grids that cover the stovetop are easily removeable and I toss them in the dishwasher . There is a black cover on the top that is also removeable for easy cleaning which I wash by hand - cleanup is a breeze ! One feature I do miss in my old range is that it had a " night light " that you could use on the top of the stove which is missing in this range but that does not affect performance obviously . When I cook a lasagna or a cake in the oven , it cooks much more evenly and the temperature controls are very accurate .I love the timer that reminds me when something is done . This is a self cleaning oven but I line the bottom shelf with heavy duty aluminum to catch the spills and just wipe them up or toss the aluminum foil as needed . The broiler works fantastically - meat is evenly browned and cooked just like it might have been had I used an outdoor gas grill - great for winter cooking to get a grilled taste and not have to go out in the cold ! This is a basic , low budget gas stove from a brand that has been around for decades and I would recommend it if price is a concern and you do not care about a lot of bells and whistles . This stove suits all my needs just fine .

I had this stove at my old apartment two years ago. The Hotpoint Freestanding gas range stove is better than the average stove. I would recommend this for anyone who wants a decent-priced, reliable stove for their kitchen. Temperature Control This stove is so simple to use. The controls are very easy to navigate, and the knobs are easy to turn. The oven settings are electric, so you just set it. Heat Distribution The heat is distributed evenly throughout the oven and it cooks the food correctly. The range on the top of the stove works great too! Durability I had this stove for a little over a year, and I never really had any problems with it. Design The design is very basic, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It could definitely be improved, but it is not a bad design. Ease of Cleaning Most stoves are not very easy to clean, but this one is not so bad. You can buy cleaner at the store that is specifically made to clean kitchen appliances, and you can use that to clean your stove.

We were given our Hotpoint Freestanding Gas Range as a used hand-me-down appliance from a family member. We live off the grid, so our appliances must all run on propane, including this one. Prior to receiving it, we used an RV-size propane oven/range combo. It was a huge nuisance! So (as you can imagine) our Hotpoint range finally made the kitchen feel like home. We celebrated by roasting a turkey, because we could finally fit a whole turkey in our oven! It may not be huge, but we love the standard size oven! Because propane is so expensive, we can't afford to use the self cleaning option but it's a breeze to wipe down. The grills on the range are easy to wash too! The temperatures are reliable and the oven preheats quickly. The parts of the burners that produce the flames were a litrle gummed up when we initially recieved the used appliance, causing them to light and heat unevenly. We soaked them in boiling water and they worked like new after that. All in all, it's a durable appliance that's working strong and reliably in its second kitchen for a second family and going strong!

The flames on this gas range is horrible! I've searched online and people have had similar problems. They've tried cleaning the parts, replacing the parts and still no luck. What's the point of a stove that can't cook food? There are only 2 burners that have a decent sized flame. In order to cook food, I have to rotate food from each burner since half of the burners are weak. Read the reviews on this from others and you'll see it's a common problem. You're better off buying a stove from a more reliable company. I can't believe how bad this is. Temperature Control Uneven burners. Heat Distribution This stove warms food, it doesn't cook it.

We bought this gas oven (since we have electric inside our home) for our cooking kitchen which is set up in our garage. We do a lot of canning and preserving, and you really need a gas stove to do that well (electric isn't responsive enough). This unit has the top spacing we needed and it did NOT have a flat cook top (which does not work well with pressure canners). We're very happy with our choice. Temperature Control I like basic knob controls for the cook top of a gas range. This one has controls that aren't too stiff nor too sensitive. Whatever you set them at, they stay at. The temperature control for the oven, which we don't use much, is electronic. So, you really can't go wrong. Set it and forget it! Heat Distribution We mostly use the cook top. The flame is easy to control and when it's set correctly (watch the color of the flame) it heats evenly and thoroughly. Durability Nothing fancy about this unit. It should last use a good, long time. Design I like the top layout, and there's plenty of room for big pots.

Just a great stove for the money.. Temperature Control I can simmer or fry foods with a touch of a button. Always keeps the Tempterature I've choose. Example simmer is really a simmer...which is important in some of dishes I make Heat Distribution My last stove, even though I kept it very clean, including the burners, they weren't alway even heat or flame. This tove is perfect, and all the cooking I do nothing is uneven. Baking in the oven also gives me perfect heat. My cakes are always perfect. Durability I love how sturdy it is. Never feel like it is steady on the floor. I use the oven lots, and even when I set something on the door to stir, I don't ever think it is going to tip over Design the design is a great addition in my kitchen...It looks so smart, yet it doesn't take away from how my kitchen is decorated. Ease of Cleaning one of the best features is the top burner area is completely sealed so the easy cleaning makes me a happy person. I love the self cleaning oven also. I do lots of baking and just a switch of a button, my oven looks brand new.

I use the oven a lot to bake my meals and the food is always evenly cooked and the timing is about right in all recipe instructions. Durability I like that this range is pretty affordable and of strong quality. I use it almost everyday to cook meals and so far have not had any problems with it. I think I will have this in my kitchen for a long time, and it never lets me down. Design This is a simple to use range and is great on a budget. My husband wanted a gas range, so we settled on this one. He likes that he can actually see the flame when he cooks. I like that we can use it in the rare case of a power outage. We have been using this regularly for a few months now, and it has worked out well. It cooks food evenly and quickly. Some potential disadvantages are that if you have the flame on the lowest setting, you can't see that it is still on. One night we accidentally left it on all night. Also, it is a little harder to clean than a flat top range, because if something spills it gets into the crevices and is more difficult to clean up than just wiping off a flat surface. Overall, we are happy with our purchase, and would recommend it to other people.

I have an older house that isn't plumbed for 220 electric service so I have to use a gas range. But, truth be told I don't think I'd want an electric stove. I have awful memories of my college apartment but I digress. I didn't buy this stove it came with my house. I like it though. I have never had any problems with it. It's easy to set and to clean up. It cooks evenly and in the time frames that recipes give. I like that I can take off the top grates and clean around the burners. It's nothing fancy. Just your run of the mill gas range. Mine is white too. I'm not sure it comes in any other colors? If I had to go in to the store today and pick out a stove, I would choose this brand. I'm pleased with it.

we bought this gas range on black friday. many people were waiting for it. i bought the last one of course. i was very lucky. anyhow i usually use an electric gas range because i lived in an aparment. now i live in a house so i get to choose whatever i want. i really like how the gas range heat up very quickly. my old ones took forever to heat up. i usually clean this thing and it is so easy to clean! i am so glad because i am so lazy to do it. my old ones..they were hard to clean. with this gas range, it took me only 30 minutes. my mom agreed with me because she cleaned it too. it works perfectly with my kitchen space. it's not too big or small for my kitchen. the options on it are so cool and it has many options for me to choose.
