I have purchased and do own and really like this Hoover SteamVac Spotter Carpet Cleaner. This is one of the best investments I have ever made especially as far as cleaning goes. For anyone who does not own a steam cleaner you are missing out and this is a good one to get. I used to rent steam cleaners from the stores and have even had my carpets professionally cleaned when one day I decided I was going to buy me a steam cleaner and in the long run save a lot of money. So I decided to purchase this Hoover SteamVac Spotter Carpet Cleaner and I am glad I did. This cleaner gets my carpets just as clean or even cleaner than when the professionals do it. It is very easy to use although it does require some elbow grease. It has even gotten out stains I have had for years. It surely comes in handy when someone spills look aid. This Hoover SteamVac is a bit expensive but worth it in the long run. I would really suggest that if you can afford to hat you invest in this.

I shampoo the carpets at least once a week. With kids (and a husband) spills seem to happen at least once a day. I pull this out as soon as a spill happens and can get it up almost all of the time. If the spill sits in the carpet for days it may not come out 100% but that can have more to do with the cleaning solution than the cleaner itself. If you have never used one before it can be a bit of a pain to tilt the handle down to get the dirty water out, but that is pretty much the design of them all. Maneuverability It's big, so you can't expect to fit in tiny spaces, but it isn't too heavy to move around. Ease of Maintenance I've never had a part break so not much as far as maintenance. Don't leave liquids in it or you will have problems with leaky seals and such (my sister did and she now has a leaky parts, mine is much older than hers and I've never left liquid in it and it never leaks). Suction Performance Doesn't get up all the water, don't think anything could, but it does pretty well considering. Takes about 8 hours to dry. Versatility It shampoos carpets, you could also "mop" floors with it but I have never done that. Design It's pretty easy to use although it can get bothersome when you have to empty the dirty water multiple times per cleaning. Durability If you take care of it, it will last. If you are lazy and leave water in it, your seals with start leaking.

I bought this vaccuum yesterday to try to get rid of a dirty streak in a high-use area (a hallway) in my house, but I am returning it today because I can't even tell if the carpet is lighter (I vaccuumed half and left the other half to compare.) I used nearly the entire top container with the Hoover detergent mixed in there, and the bottom dirty water container did indeed have dirty water, but it didn't look like my carpet was any cleaner. I think I've had better results with spray on cleaners and hand scrubbing, but I thought I'd give the wet vaccuum a try to save some time. The one I purchased did not come with a hose so I could not test that out, but I would be hesitant to recommend this product. It also seems to run out of the detergent/clean water very quickly, and the cleaning method is tiresome. I can't say it doesn't work because the water in the bottom tank was dirty, but it clearly didn't get the job done well.

This Hoover Steam Vacume is the best well actually only steam cleaner I have owned. I had a elderly dog who was having trouble holding in her bladder. We eventually had to put her down at the ripe old age of thirteen. During my grieving process I went out and purchased this steam cleaner. I  took it out of the box and setting it up was super simple. I am actually a big Hoover vacume fan and will never ever purchase another brand of vacuum cleaner. I actually vacuum my carpets everyday. Some say I am obsessed with it :)  When I use my Hoover Steam Vaccume it works really well pulling all of the dirt out of my carpet. I love the fact that it has beater brushes to help scrub the spots. I clean my carpets about two times per year and pull it out when I need to spot clean. The machine is very easy to fill up with soap ( I prefer Resolve carpet cleaner for steam machines) and very easy to remove the dirty water container. This is by far the best investment I have made by Hoover. Thanks Hoover for never letting me down all these years :)  Buy one for yourself and you will not regret it.
