I purchased this product a few years back and I haven't regretted it yet. I figured for as many times as I rented a carpet cleaner I could easily own one. It was the truth. I use my carpet cleaner atleast once a month. Sometimes for large areas like rooms or just a small stain that just happened. I have been very happy with this machine. It is easy to use, the instructions were practical and easy to understand. The attachments works well and have great suction. I am always amazed when I clean my couch how much cleaner it looks and feels. One draw back I have had with this machine is how heavy it is. To carry it up or down the stairs is alittle scary, it's big and bulky and awkward to carry. As long as you don't have much stairs up and down to do, this machine is great. Value for your money is amazing and it has paid for itself very quickly. I find I can clean a large area with one tank of water. The carpet is just damp after cleaning too. It doesn't seem soaked like other machines I have used. I find the carpet dries with in a few hours or less to out furniture back. When I have cleaned furniture with it, it does seem to leave that wetter and can take longer to dry. All in all I would recommend this product to anyone. It is a great machine, great value, a great price point and great quality. This machine is built to last and I hope to use mine for a long time to come.

I bought this recently to replace an old one that we had. We haven't used it very much but from what we have we love it. It is very easy to put together and easy to understand the instructions and how to use it. It is louder than what we are used to but that is the only con that I can find. It does not leave the carpet wet for a very long time, it sucks up the dirt and grime quick and hard. Has an option to power shot spots and rotating brushes that really get in the carpet to clean. The button to turn it on is at the bottom on the opposite side to make it lean back so instead of bending over you just use your foot. You put in hot water as there is not a heating element to heat or keep the water heated. It also has two attachments to use on the hose. All in all I would recommend it from little houses to big jobs or houses. Maneuverability It is not hard to move it and can get everywhere you need it to. Ease of Maintenance All you have to do is dump out the dirty water and rinse it out. Very easy to take care of.

I have owned this carpet cleaner for several years now. I live in a large (3000 square ft.) two story home. Three bedrooms and the large family room all have carpet. I have 5 children, 4 grandchildren and 2 dogs. This machine has helped me to keep my carpets clean, spot free and smelling nice for years. I clean my carpets about 3 times a year with this machine and try to clean any spots as they happen. I think this machine has greatly extended the life of my carpets. It is so much nicer to own my own carpet machine and not have to lug those big rental machines home. And a bonus is that with the upholstery attachments I can use it on my upholstered sofas to keep them nice as well. It also doesn't aggravate my daughters allergies. Maneuverability This machine can be a bit cumbersome but better than the larger rentals. It can be heavy to push around and really gives my back a work out. I try to space it out and do the bottom floor of my house one day and the top the next. I do not have carpet on my stairs and I think this machine would be difficult to use on stairs. Ease of Maintenance Other than taking apart and cleaning my machine after every use there has been really little maintenance on it. If you follow the directions and keep it clean it is pretty well maintenance free. Suction Performance I find the suction more than adequate for normal household use. It removes most of the moisture that it sprays out and my carpets dry quickly. I think on the upholstery it is not as good on suction but still adequate. It removes the pet hair from my two Scottie dogs that are inside and I am amazed at the pet hair from my carpets that you don't see. Versatility Versatile enough with the attachments to not only clean the carpets but also upholstered furniture and I have even cleaned my car upholstery with it. The soap for it can be a little pricey and I also like to rinse my carpets after with just a little vinegar added to the water. Design Changing over from the carpet cleaner to the upholstery attachments can be a bit tricky. You also have to make sure that the bottom reservoir is latched down just right after emptying. Durability Mine has lasted for years now with regular use and still is running great with absolutely no problems.

Hi all, I recently purchased the Hoover SteamVac. This little beauty does a decent job of cleaning the most ugliest of gunk in your carpet. Even though this little beauty does not have a wide area for easy cleaning of carpets like most other carpet cleaners, but is is much thorough nonethless. Using a solution of your favorite carpet cleaner liquid and water, this little baby easyily sprays the solution onto your carpet and quickly vacuums up filth,dirt and grim from your carpet. As an added bonus unlike most vacuums, cord is an amazing 12 feet long. Good to have cord when you are on a mission to make your home or office look good. Very impressed. And a very impressive price at your local Wal Mart. Just under 200.00. Why rent one, when you can own one?  Thank you for your time.

i think this unit does a wonderful job on carpets. it is really disgusting to see al the gross dirt coming up from your carpet. even when you believe it is already clean from a good vacuum. this unit requires assembly, which i found annoying, but not impossible - i'm just not a person who likes to put things together. my carpets are very old and i wanted something to at least pull out all the pet dander, dirt, and allergans that have probably been ground in over the years. boy does this unit suck it all up. the carpet does dry very quickly and therefore must do an excellent job of suckingup all the water it uses to clean the carpets. i haven't had any problems with it malfunctioning yet and have used it every other week for 6 months.

After having our first child, our carpets became dingy & stained from various spills and other stains. We decided it was time to purchase a carpet cleaner. We researched all of the options and kept seeing great reviews from the Hoover brand. We wanted a carpet cleaner that would clean the carpets and take minimal time to dry afterwards since we are at home most of the time. The first time we used the Hoover SteamVac F5915-900 Carpet Cleaner, I was completely amazed at the amount of dirt and grime this machine pulled from our carpet. There were several stains that were completely removed after using this machine. I was surprised at the amount of filth we saw when we emptied the water chamber after using it. It did not soak the carpets so it was completely dried within a couple of hours. We recommend this carpet cleaner to anyone in the market for one.

Don't know about you, but I get steamed when deceived.  I recently purchased the "Steam Vac" only to find that the unit does not heat the water, thus no steam.  The heat as indicated on the box is nothing but the heat generated by the motor which blows out on the carpet. When I called Hoover to inquire about the steam, the customer rep. had a quick and ready answer like he had answered this question many times.  Seems like Hoover is trying to compete with Bisell which actually heats the water.  The unit seemed to work fine,   just don't like to be lied to.

We discovered a good sale on the Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner recently and wondered why, after several years of living in a largely carpeted house, we had not considered a carpet cleaner any sooner. We picked up the Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner due to the good sale and the favorable reviews we found on multiple sites on the web and spent a day and a half moving furniture around so we could deep clean our carpet one room at a time. After a few slight struggles during assembly, we were off. The soap/water dispenser is easy to fill and I like that the lid is also the built-in measurement cup for the soap. We used the included soap first (but lasted less than 2 rooms). The dirty water canister fills up rather quickly unfortunately, so it's a little time consuming to dump and clean it repeatedly (and to make sure it's seated perfectly or the cleaner won't extract the water from the carpet). Overall, we are very pleased with how much cleaner our carpets are and plan to use it regularly in the future.

We bought this from Wal-Mart and it did awesome on our carpets. My grandfather has a Bissell that we normally use and we have also rented a Rug Doctor, but the Hoover cleaned our carpets much better than the other two. We even had family members comment that "I have never seen your carpets this clean." It is definitely worth the money. The water tank is very easy to remove, empty, and refill and having seperate tanks for the clean and dirty water is also nice. This machine also seemed much quieter than other machines we have used. This machine is also great at sucking up the water. It didn't leave your carpets saturated like some carpet cleaners do. I would recommend this carpet cleaner to anyone!
