If you are like me with a all tile floor and two puppys this machine will become your best friend. I have had it two months now and use it a few times a week at least. It will pick up dirt and puppy urine no problem. and the best part is that it never puts dirty water back on you clean floors like a mop and bucel does.

Best Cleaning Investment Ever Made

5

I received the Floormate as a birthday gift six months ago. It has been the best gift I have ever received! I didn't have to time to properly scrub and mop, but this cleaner makes it fast and simple. Maneuverability It is a slight bit heavy, but it goes anywhere. My children even use it to clean their rooms. Ease of Maintenance Other than rinsing out the cleaner and dirty water compartments, there really isn't any maintenance. It has been used quite frequently for six months, and I have not had to change the scrubbers. Suction Performance It does a really good job on any floor surface. Versatility The Floor mate is very versatile. I have used it on rough surfaces like concrete, but it is also gentle enough to use on my hardwood floors. Design The design is great. It's very easy to break down, fill up, rinse, and put back together. Durability As I said before, I have had my Floormate for six months. It has been used at least two to three times a week and still functions as if it's brand new.

Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub 500 Floor Cleaner does the job

4

I purchased my Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub 500 Floor Cleaner this winter when I came to the realization that the grout on my kitchen floor tile was looking pretty grubby. While I really was hoping for some sort of miracle cleaning machine, this little Hoover came up short. It does do a nice enough job of cleaning the tiles, but it really doesn't seem to be able to get the little brushes down into the grout lines and clean them up. I love the long cord. A rarity these days, it seems. And it does have good power for scrubbing. As for the vacuuming feature, I do not use it as it is sorely lacking in ability. I do have two large black dogs that shed tremendously and this little machine simply cannot suck up all of the dog hair. Frankly, I did not expect it too either. If I had any suggestions on how to improve this floor scrubber, I would ask that the brushes were longer and maybe a bit stiffer. And to have that feature with still adequate ability to suck up the water used to scrub the floor. I don't think I would have the courage to recommend this machine to a friend or family member, but for me, I am satisfied enough. Maneuverability It is lightweight Ease of Maintenance Ah, the dog's abilities for dirt, make quite a mess of the little scrubber Suction Performance Wish for bigger brushes though Versatility Good enough Design Love the long power cord Durability Really haven't had it long enough to say

Hoover Floormate cleans your floors better than any other method

Hoover Floormate makes washing your floors an easy task. Maneuverability The soft rubber bumpers will not damage woodwork or cabinet molding Ease of Maintenance The Hoover Floormate is easy to clean in general, however, the housing around the filter traps dirt. Suction Performance Floors dry almost immediately because the suction is good. Durability After a year the gasket around the cleaner solution container leaks.

Convenient but lacking

4

Tired of scrubbing floors on my hands and knees, especially since new home is mostly hard flooring. Bought this for the convenience, and chose it over the competition based on price. Have only used it once, but I love the smell of the floor cleaner. This is very easy to use and assemble, and comes with a long cord. The scrubbing effectiveness is kind of lacking. The soft bristles do not get into the grout as well as I wished they did, but the overall cleaning is ok. You will still need to get on your hands and knees to get along baseboards and such though. The vacuum is a bit noisy, but that is to be expected for a vacuum. Also, a little disappointed that the vacuum would leave behind small puddles of water on the floor behind the vacuum. I am rating it high for its convenience, the fresh scent of the floor cleaning solution, and for its fair cleaning abilities. Sometimes other devices cannot compete with the extra effort of a little elbow grease. (and sore knees)   :)

Hoover is solid

2

I am not going to make a really bad joke about this thing sucking. It is a solid cheap hopefully durable vacuum that i just recently bought. It is a pretty cheap alternative for some of the more expensive vacuums but i think if i can go back i would just splurge for something one of the expensive one. It assembles very quick and i barely even need to use the directions which is a good thing since i sometimes struggle when reading them so if i can put it together easily it shouldn't be a problem for anybody. Its floor scrubbing mode is very good on the other hand and makes quick work of an otherwise nasty and time-consuming job but it may not be as good a really through mopping. The dry vacuum mode is extremely weak it was very disappointing to that it couldn't pick up small things on the ground. So i would defiantly recommend if you have hard word floors but not as much if you have carpeting

The worst vacuum- clogs ALL the time

1

I bought this vacuum because I do not have carpet. After 2 months, I HAD to return it. every time I used the vacuum component, the nozzle clogged. I was constantly taking it apart and unclogging it. At first, the wash setting was good, but after 3 or 4 uses, it was "spitting" out water all over my floors. The dry setting took forever to dry my floors. I felt like I had to go over and over one small are about 20 before it was dry!! The dry setting actually worked better picking up dust and crumbs than vacuum setting. Oh, and forget cleaning the dust/ dirty water container. Dust an lint got wedged into the crevices and it was a pain to clean. Cleaning my floors on my hands and knees is more efficient and effective than using this poor excuse for a vacuum. The machine itself is NOT light weight and my shoulders ached after I used it- pushing and pulling it over the same spots a hundred times!! Don't buy this, you will waste your money, be disappointed and then have to lug it back to the store to return it!

I was disappointed because I expected great things.

I am someone that absolutely abhors scrubbing floors, so when I had enough points in my Mypoints rewards account, I immediately ordered the Floormate for myself.  I had read several reviews that said it really did a thorough cleaning job on linoleum and tile flooring.  I have older linoleum in my kitchen that is scuffed up, but I was expecting that with the spinning brushes I would be able to get dried-on spots scrubbed off,  and be able to avoid extra hands and knees scrubbing to get them off.  This is not the case.  It also tends to push some of the dirt and residual girme or hair toward the wall and floorboards, so I have do extra work to remove that stuff, too.  It is pretty loud, which is a bit annoying,  I do like its performance as a dry vacuum.  It has good suction power, and is much lighter weight than my Dyson vacuum, so for quick jobs, it is ideal.  I am wondering if I somehow got a lemon, because everyone else seems to be really happy with the wet cleaning performance of the Floormate, but it hasn't worked not for me. :(

The Hoover FloorMate is one of those tools where if you have the money to spend and it fits your lifestyle then go for it...but think about how you like to clean first.  I do not like to mop and I have kids who are always spilling something no matter  how careful I am so this is fine for us.  If you like hands and knees clean you will still have to get on your hands and knees...it is also very loud so if you are in an apartment no midnight cleaning or neighbors will be knocking and no nap time cleaning either.  What this is good at is sucking up spills and scrubbing level surfaces...you can't get right next to the wall because of the bumpers and if you have textured floors (like us) you can only get the top surface clean.  Despite what seems like a lot of negatives...I thought this was great when I was pregnant and could not carry buckets of water around to clean or bend over to get a spill...I also think I have spent more money on trying to find the perfect mop which I do not think even exists.  The vaccuum feature works well....I don;t use it for dry vaccuum but the cleaner will suck up almost all the water and by the time you are finished with the floor the place you started is pretty much dry...which is another great thing if you have kids and get tired of fighting to keep them off your wet floor. I just use plain water to clean...no chemicals in the house for the most part...but if I need to disinfect just pour some white vinegar so you dont have to worry about spending extra money on the special cleaner.  Remember to dump your dirty water right away as it is pretty nasty...

The FloorMate is the essence of convenience and cleans great

The Hoover FloorMate Spin Scrubber makes cleaning the tiled area in my large kitchen / breakfast area a dream!  I used to abhor the task of sweeping, then mopping and then trying to keep people and the dog off of the floor until it would dry.  With a dog who can be a sloppy eater in her tiled corner of the breakfast area, and often gets water splashed out of her bowl, the chore of cleaning the floors was a daily process at least in a portion of the floor. I keep the FloorMate hidden in a corner of the room and simply pop it out when I need to clean.  It has the switch for dry vacuuming first to get the big stuff, then click it for the wash and scrub and lastly one more switch for drying.  Additionally, It pretty much walks itself across the floor. Once your done, you simply empty out the dirty walk -disgusting now to think about mopping with this water before the FloorMate.  It requires nothing special in the way of cleaning products, I usually use diluted Mr Clean or Lysol.
