This Heater Last Forever!

I have one of these heaters at home and at work. I don't use my personal one anymore because we have electric baseboard heating in our new apartment. At work I have one next to my desk. It does a good job of heating of a small enough space. It is a radiating heater which means the heat radiates out away from the coils. If you are looking for something to heat an entire house; this wont do it. It's more of a one room heater (just a "space" heater). They last a really long time, but can definitely put an extra dent in your electric bill if you keep it on for long periods of time. You can adjust the temperature which is nice. You can also adjust the power, which is a capability some space heaters don't have.

Great little heater

The Honeywell Portable Oil-Filled Electric Radiator is perfect for adding extra warmth when it is freezing outside. Radiant heat adds the warmth you want without drying out the air so much. This heater does a fantastic job of heating a small to medium size room. You can easily adjust the settings to get the temperature you want. I love that it has a safety feature of turning off if tipped over. It has wheels that make it easy to move to a different room as well.

Honeywell Oil Filled Electric Radiator Heater

I am sorry I didn't purchase this heater earlier. It is easy to use and heats up any room fast. Keeps it warm as well. The only problem I have with it is, I cannot reprogram it to lower the temperature, it is set at a temperature and won't let me reprogram it. Ease of Use It won't let me reprogram it, it is set at 88 degrees and I can't lower it no matter how many times I try.

Perfectly warm solution to a chilly room!

I love this model! I bought a DeLonghi back in 1989 and used it for years and years, even bought a second one. But when I bought one in 2008, I was majorly disappointed in how it heated and the quality, or lack thereof, should I say? I bought this Honeywell hoping to fall in love with it and I did! I love the way it tells me the temperature it's at. Performance The performance is warmth! Perfectly so! Ease of Use Push a button, how much easier can it be? Durability So far, so good, only had it one year. Design Difficult to keep clean if you have much dust. Safety Totally comfortable with this around little ones, that was the reason I originally bought one was for my baby girl.

I am very satisified with this excellent heater.

I am very satisified with this Honeywell heater. I strongly prefer it over the previous model that I tried and returned which blew hot, dry air throughout the room. This heater is also quiet and it does not take long to heat up my bedroom. Performance The heater is wonderful. Although I am yet to receive my first electric bill (to be updated when it arrives), this heater is very efficient in the sense that you can choose to use 600 watts, 900 watts, or the maximum 1500 watts. Ease of Use It is nice to have a radioator heater with a digital control thermostat. The switches to adjust the temperature, timer, and energy usage are a little awkward. I also have to get down low to the floor to adjust the settings. Safety This heater is very safe and will cut off if inadvertently knocked over. It also has a timer that can be set up to 18 hours and will cut off when it the number of selected hours has been met.

Fire Hazard

1

Bought this heater on sale at Target. We had some guests from out of town staying in a back bedroom that stays chilly in the winter cold. Worked fine initially but when we used it about three weeks later the digital electronics failed. It is supposed to have auto shut-off at a set temperature but it didn't. Just kept getting hotter and hotter until it actually melted the control panel and shorted itself out. We have an older Lakewood oil fill radiator with solid feeling analog switches and it has worked great for about 20 years. I cringed when I first used the digital controls on this new Honeywell unit because it felt so cheap and flimsy - kind of like a digital watch your kids might get with a happy meal. Just had a bad feeling about it and as described above the bad feeling came true. Target was great about taking it back I just hope Honeywell gets the needed feedback to guide them to making a safer product. After the fact I read some online reviews on this unit and found several with similar "fire hazard" negative reviews. Although the old Lakewood heater we have doesn't have the bells and whistles (just solid simple controls) compared the Honeywell it just feels so much better made. The Honeywell with its flimsy digital controls that let it tout some auto features is simply a massed produced cheap heater ... in my humble opinion.

Love my Honeywell HZ-709 Oil Filled Radiator Heater

5

I live in an older house with not the best insulation.  Our living room is always cold, even with the central heat on.  Two years ago, I purchased the Honeywell Oil Filled Radiator Heater looking for a fix to our cold room and absolutely love it!  It has 3 electrical settings, I prefer the medium setting.  When you first turn it on, it will give the temperature of the room.  Then you can set the temperature that you want the room to be.  There is also a setting where you can set how many hours you want the heater to run.  I like this feature so that I don't forget to turn it off at night when I go to bed.  When the heater begins to heat, you will hear the oil pop some as it's heating, but that does stop after a few minutes. I love that the heater is compact and quiet!  It isn't overpowering in size that it looks like the focus of the room.   I like that it's on wheels, so I can easily move it when needed.  There is a handy hidden handle on the front that flips up so you can easily move the heater. This heater has outlasted any of the other room heaters I have purchased in the past.

The Perfect Solution

5

I purchased a Honeywell HZ-709 oil filled radiator space heater on the recommendation of a friend to help warm up those spaces in the house that for some reason never seem to get or stay warm.  I was not disappointed and have not only used it every single day, but bought a second one for my place of business.  Although is is an oil filled heater, it does not need to be refilled or have a container replaced.  There are easy to use electric controls with three heat settings and an easily adjustable thermostat.  It is made of heavy metal and has an enamel finish.  There is also a feature so if it accidentally tips over, it shuts off, so there is not a need to worry about something happening.  This heater is on casters and has a handle on the front that you can use for easy pulling from one place to another.  The only complaint I have about this heater is that the handle is made of plastic that does not seem very durable.

**Model HZ-709 made by Kaz, Inc. for Honeywell® ** **Oil Filled Radiator Heater with Digital Controls -**  Features a snazy black 'dirt hiding' rust-free enamel finish.  We just bought this 7 fin oil-filled heater to maintain constant temperature in a bird room.  Each metal fin is machine welded to ensure leak-free operation.  This heater also features a tip-over switch that will disable the heater in the event it is tipped over.  Our other heat source is a wood stove which makes a couple rooms very warm and the rest at 60 degrees. The oil in this portable electric heater never needs to be refilled or replaced. Featuring electronic controls, three heat settings and an adjustable thermostat for personal comfort, the heater has found easy-glide casters that make it easy to transport from room to room. So far it works really good for a price around 60 bucks. **Features:**  • Easy set controls• Temperature set function maintains desired temperature• Timer function for 1-12 hour run time• 3 heat settings for energy efficient heating options• Safety Matters features: solid heavy guage steel, durable rust free enamel finish, machine welded for leak free operation, HPN type 3 prong on the plug.

Honeywell heater replaces central heat

5

We got this Honeywell electric heater due to the harsh, cold winters here. The temperature goes negative often and we found this heater to be a good supplement to the central heat on the cold days and nights. We also use this heater for the days that aren't as cold. For example, when the temperature is around freezing or slightly below, we can turn down the central heat and put on the space heater when we are only staying in one room. I found the heater to work well in a large room. It takes about 1/2 hour for the heat to kick in and make the room feel warm. However, when it does kick in, it will feel more like even heat rather than heat that escapes fast from the fans. I also find this heater to make the room less dry than the fan based heaters.
