A Solid Whole Room Heater
When the small heater that I use in our master bathroom was loaned to my daughter, my husband brought home this Honeywell HZ-817 Electric Baseboard Heater as a surprise. It wasn't exactly what I wanted, and it has its pros and cons. The heater is large. It's wide and it is very long, taking up a lot of real estate in a small bathroom. The thermostat isn't as nice as the one I loaned out, you can't set a specific temperature and expect it to keep than temperature constant. I mean, you can set it at 65, 70, 75, or 80 degrees, but not any number in between. Whatever temp you set, it will turn off when that temperature is exceeded and turn on if the room gets cooler than that preset temp. There is a light that illuminates to let you know it is on, and it is more of a whole room heater in that it does not blow the air outward (like my old one), it just radiates the heat. Even the "Quick Heat" that my husband was impressed with, does not provide the heat I want from a portable heater. I like to have the heat blown directly on me because I am always cold! It does a good job of warming up a small room, but I am not so sure it would keep a larger room comfortable. I do like the safety features that are built in, so if this heater were to fall over (and it seems extremely sturdy and sure footed to me), it will automatically shut itself off. The surface of the heater does get warm, so it should be kept away from walls, curtains, bedding, etc. Overall this is a solid space heater. It is just too large for my personal tastes, and it does not expel the air with enough force to satisfy me. On the plus side, it is VERY quiet, which makes it great for a baby's room. Ease of Use Easy to use, dials are easy to read. There is a light that illuminates to let you know it is on. Durability Not sure because this isn't used much in our home due to the large size.
