I used this humidifier in my apartment on the upstairs level during the winter months. I could tell a noticeable change in the air when running the humidifier. My family suffers from eczema and psoriasis so this product very much helped our skin issues during the winter months. My only complaint is that I felt like it did not cover a large area. I ended up buying a second one to put in my son's bedroom so I could have one in my bedroom. I also bought an additional one to put in the living room downstairs. I feel like I could have saved the money I spent on all three and paid for a nice one to cover all the rooms of my apartment. Output Volume The humidifier does not cover as large of an area as I thought it would so I was a little disappointed by this. A full water reserve tank can last through the night though and that is helpful. I am not having to get up throughout the night to refill the tank. Performance The humidifier does help dampen the air, but it does not cover a large area. Ease of Cleaning The water reserve tank is easy to clean with a little soap and water and bleach water. The filter is easily changed out as well. Durability The humidifiers are very durable. I have been using my original one for approximately five years and my others for four years. Design The design is very simplistic.

We use this cool mist humidifier all year, but we use it especially in the winter time. I find it easier to breath when it has been running for a few hours. I have had fewer nose bleeds and my hands are less likely to crack and bleed due to being to dry. I wash my hands all the time because I am a nurse and I work in a local hospital. With the combination of applying lotions and running this humidifier every day, I can actually maintain moisturized skin. We bought this humidifier a year ago and have had no problems with it. It does take up a large space in our living room. We also have to be careful to remember to fill it up with water. I know a lot of moisture is getting into the air because we have to fill it up every day. It is not entirely kid proof. We usually have to hide it behind a chair so that the baby does not get to it. It has been very easy to clean and take a part. We love the look and the performance.

I've always slept with a humidifier on as I have asthma and this is my favourite one by far. Not horribly loud though took some getting used to to have it running while I was sleeping. Greatly reduced dry throat and sinus issues! Output Volume Out put is reasonable - we run it for about 8 hours at night only. I'm not entirely sure how often we fill it as my husband generally takes care of this after I'm asleep. Performance My room has the highest humidity in the house - I much prefer it that way and aside from being a touch louder than I'd like, this is by far the best humidifier I've owned. Ease of Cleaning My husband says it's very simple - I've not tried cleaning it. We rinse out the filter about once a month by soaking it in a vinegar mixture to break down any calcium build up and replace once a year. Durability We've been using this for 5 years and it's still going strong. Replacement filters are readily available and easy to change. Design Great design, simple controls. Tank refill is easiest in the bathroom tub or kitchen sink with a sprayer.

I have been trying to sleep train my daughter who has been significanly more difficult than my oldest child. When asking about specific methods and techniques, many of my friends suggested purchasing a cool mist humidifier for the white noise. I had my doubts but at this point am willing to try anything. I settled on the Holmes cool mist humidifier because it was budget friendly and was told it would get the job done. I have now been using it for about a week and it has its pros and cons. First off, it has a carrying handle on the tank which makes it easy to refill and carry. I also like the fact that there are three different air flow settings. It is also noisy, which in my case was a pro since that is what I was wanting but for some people this may be a negative. I don't like the fact that you just set the tank on the base and that there is no locking mechanism because my oldest son like to take it out all the time. It is too bad there wasn't some sort of switch on it, at least it doesn't leak when he does this. Overall, a great product.

We purchased this a couple winters ago for my husband after  he had sinus surgery. The doctor recommended he use this at night after the surgery. Helps to keep the air pure and all the bad junk out. Really a good idea for anyone, but especially after surgery. This worked just as described, and really helped a lot. Was not hard to set up or put together. The main draw back was that it is cold. I know there is a huge debate on whether cold or hot air humidifiers are better, and again, the main draw back was that it was cold. there was a fan blowing cold air and in the dead of winter, this made for very, very cold nights. Hard to stay warm with the fan blowing cold air. Also, the light on it seemed to glow just a bit too brightly at night and the fan noise was a bit loud. All of those combined made it hard to sleep, but it did work great. Really did it what it was supposed to do, could be we are light sleepers.

Who would have ever thought living in Houston I would need an humidifier? But two of my daughter's suffers from seasonal allergies and for some reason, as soon as the heat comes on the one has a stuffed up nose, even with the worst cold symptoms. Both my husband and I have seasonal sinus trouble too. My pediatrician recommended that she sleep with a humidifier in her room so needing one that didn't add to the Houston heat we purchased the **Holmes Humidifier - Cool Mist Humidifier - HM1746.**  ***What I like about the Holmes Humidifier - Cool Mist Humidifier - HM1746.*** - not too expensive  - lightweight - I can take it from the bedroom to the family room so we can use it all day  - once it is filled it lasts a long time  - several different settings - from lots of humidity to little as well as three settings for how the fan functions  - safety feature on the fan to keep little fingers safe  ***What I don't like about the Holmes Humidifier - Cool Mist Humidifier - HM1746***. - it's noisy - it is not really the fan but the water gurgling as it is used and replaced  - the tub that you fill with water gets too heavy to fill all the way  - water left in the bottom when the tub is empty - so it spills when moved  - doesn't have a tray for Vicks VapoRub  If they could change these few little things the **Holmes Humidifier - Cool Mist Humidifier - HM1746** really would be a five star product. My favorite part is that I can choose a little or a lot of humidity and it's a cool kind not one that makes my home even warmer. It works well in  the winter combating the dry heat of the furnace and helps the whole family breathe a little easier throughout the day and into the night.

I am a winter sinus suffer. I need relief, especially at night.  Iould not breathe and the snoring  would keep my husband awake. . I brought a **Holmes Humidifier-Cool Mist HM1746 **put in the bedroom.  I just turn on the Humidifier, no more snoring, clear nasal passages. Now  I had found another way to make my husband happy in bed.   I have also purchase one for my mother, sister, daughter and granddaughter.
