Heats very efficiently!! We use it during the winter and it works great to either heat a room or take the chill off. Performance Heats a room very quickly! Produces hot air right away..no need to wait..has different settings for various heat levels. Ease of Use Very easy to use...a knob controls the functions..basic and simple! Durability We have used ours several years and have not had a problem with it at all. Very durable! Design Small sleek design..easy to move around...grab n go!! Safety Would like a bigger base to make it stand up better...If used on carpet, might tip over..we never use it without sitting right near it to keep a close eye on it...but vwe would keep a close eye on any heater.

We have 2 of these, one for our living room and another for our bedroom. (We have an older home that is drafty especially in the middle of a Chicagoland windy winter storm!) These are helpful for those extra cold nights when you feel the need to lay in front of your heat register! They provide a decent amount of heat, more than one might expect from such a small appliance. As with any space heater, the surface gets very hot and cannot be handled until it cools. It is also not the money saver I was hoping it would be. We used these little heaters as another source of heat thinking that we could set the thermostat lower and use these as a backup for the places we used the most. WRONG! Our gas bill was indeed lower but the electric bill was substanially more, enough to make up for any savings we had made on gas... Now we just use these for extra cold nights or when our heater malfunctions. It works for these situations until the repair crew can arrive so we don't freeze to death! They are also nice when we work in the basement or garage on cold days to heat a small/localized area. I also sometimes splurge and use one in our very small bathroom during the winter to come out of the shower to an amazingly toasty warm room. If you use them as intented in small spaces for a short duration they are perfect. If you are hoping to heat your home or save on gas during the winter months, these are not for you. Performance When used for a short duration in a small area they function well. Ease of Use Very easy: plug in, set a temperature and enjoy. Durability We have had ours for years without problem. They are not in constant use, but have held up so far. Design It's not very stylish or attractive, but does the intented job so I have no complaints. Safety We have never had any issues, but they do get very hot to the touch as with any space heater.

I use this heater in my office at work. It's a really great heater in that it has both a heat and a fan setting. There are two heat settings that produce warm air that quickly warms up my office (I sit near a large window). The air setting is very nice for days when the office A/C decides to stop functioning. As with most heaters like this, it does tend to emit a burning smell when you first turn the heater part on, but that's not a big deal. The only negative feedback I have about the heater is that it doesn't have a temperature control setting where it automatically turns off once it reaches a certain temperature like most heaters have. Durability I've kicked and knocked this heater over many times and it's still going strong.

We have had this heater for about 15 years. It's been passed around from one family member to another and it's still going strong. It puts out excellent heat and has never failed. I often keep it in my car for those long winter days  when I'm working and it keeps me very warm without having to run the car. It will definitely heat a small room or workstation. If you do security work this is great in the booth or vehicle. While it isn't big enough to heat a garage in winter it can be placed near you while you work and keep you warm. The fan can be used alone to perform all the above tasks, keeping you cool in summer. You can just keep it in the trunk and take it out whenever the need arises. It has 2 heat settings and the fan. There is a red power light indicator. It will shut itself off if it becomes too hot. This is a safety feature and should not be considered a malfunction. If it shuts down you simply turn it off. Unplug it for 10 min. and restart it. This is a simple efficient product that does what it's meant to do without the needless bells and whistles that are added to so many products these days. If you're cold buy this heater

live in basement apt. the heat is controlled upstairs and half the time the jerks shut off the heat. i was looking for a space heater during those times. i got the holmes heater because it was cheapest. it works great and after about 15 min. i have to shut it off or open a door

This product works and everything the cost is low around twenty bucks....but the lifespan isn't very long...they last about six months...I have nothing but base board heaters in my house so I opt for using space heaters.....I keep buying this one cause it's cheap but I do have to replace it quite often...it does however heat up my whole apartment :)

Let me tell you about this little Holmes HFH105 Ceramic Utility Heater.It is the stuff.While the heat in the house may not work quite so well this little heater packs out a wallop of heat in literally minutes.The good thing about it is it's multi-seasonal because it also has a fan that you can turn on and use in the summer time when it's getting hot.But back to the heat.I have had several versions of these heaters throughout the eyar and believe me...They last long and they work well.I have been to others homes that were just so cold that I purchased one for their household too and the difference was unimaginable.I love this little heater because it is portable so when we go to take showers and the bathroom is not as warm as we'd like it I just unplug it and move it in there and we're warm and toasty going in and still warm and toasty coming out.If you want a nofail product to heat up the night I definitely recommend this Holmes heater.It'll never leave you in the cold again!!

This year we have decided it will be more efficent if we use space heaters and our fireplace to heat our home. So now, I have two different little Holmes space heaters and I just love them. This one is so warm and cozy and does a fantastic job of heating an entire room well. It gets so cold in our house and this little guy warms it up so quickly. They are small and don't take up much space. It's not noisy at all and it fits convienently on top of my counter in the corner. It's great. I love the fan feature on this also and plan to use it in the summer time. It's light weight and easy to move. It has simple controls and my children can easily figure out how to use it. I have been very pleased with the Holmes brand and the quality of products they make at the economic price they are sold for. This is a great investment in a good heater and I would certainly buy another Homes heater to heat my home.

I took the Holmes FHF105 Heater out of the box and plugged it in. I smelt smoke and just thought it was the dust on the coils, then smoke continued and I saw flash of fire and top of the heater began to melt. So much for the safety features on this thing. I would not recommend this heater unless you want to burn down your house
