Easy!

4

When my dog was first a pup we used Heartgard chews every month for several years for heartworm prevention. She is a small dog and these were very easy for her to chew and she always thought they were a treat. It was something that she really seemed to always enjoy and it was never a struggle for her to take them. I really enjoyed the fact that these were rather inexpensive compared to some of the other products we eventually switched to. In the end we did switch over to an all-in-one topical product that covered her for fleas, ticks as well as heartworm, because it made more sense to use one product to cover everything. While I do absolutely love Heartgard and my dog loved taking it, I felt that it started to become a pain to have to use this product for heart worm and then another product for fleas, ticks, etc. as well. If Heartgard provided coverage for everything I would definitely switch back, as we loved it and my dog seemed to really enjoy the taste!

Dog Gobbles up her monthly dose

5

I had to put my dog down after thirteen years so I recently adopted a puggle. She has a very sensitive stomach but does very well on this product. It is easy for her to chew even with her small mouth. The flavor appeals to her because she doesn't need any extra prodding to take. I wish you could order this medicine without a yearly prescription. My thought is , if you give every dose then the dog should not have heartworm, hence no need to test every year. The test is somewhat expensive. Id love to beable to test roughly every third year. Quality of Ingredients The ingrediants are all found in each of the other heartgaurd medicines. After doing research Ive found they use better than average ingredients. Side Effects Even with a very sensitive stomach my dog has never had any adverse effects from this chewable. The pill did not effect her energy level, sleep pattern, eating habits or elimination routine. Over all I think its worth the higher price.

Heartgard gaurds my doggies heart and health

Overall this chewable for my dog has worked great as a preventive care and I will continue to use it. It is worth the expensive price it cost. This Heartgard 1-25 lbs is great for preventing heartworms and other illnesses that may harm your animal. My dog Francine loves this chewable. It's easy to take and it must taste good because Francine loves it. I never have a problem getting her to take it. Giving my dog this chewable gives me peace of mind that my dog is covered and will continue to be healthy. I live in Texas and the mosquito bites are awful. Every year we have problems with them. So giving my dog this medicine knowing it will prevent her from getting sick makes me feel great. I would recommend this product to my friends and family with small dogs. I love my small dog and her health and wellbeing is very important to me. Every time I take my dog to the vet they give my Francine a clean bill of health and they recommend that I continue giving her the Heartgard chewable.

Dogs love the beef chewable cube

4

I used to work at a vet clinic and this is one of the top veterinary recommended heartworm products. Dogs love the flavor. I know my dog did! It is nice that it is NOT a pill or messy topical. Since it is a beef flavored chewable cube, most dogs think it is a treat and readily eat it. It is effective and safe when used under a veterinarian's care and the American Heartworm Society's guidelines (meaning your dog should be tested for heart worms before starting it and periodically during treatment, depending on what part of the country you live in). There is the occasional dog who won't eat it, even if it is flavored. We would just then wrap it in cheese or something. My only complaint is that for the tiny breeds that weigh like 2 pounds, this cube is practically a whole meal for them! Since it is important for your pet to eat the whole thing, it can be tricky if you have a really little dog. Quality of Ingredients *Do not use if your dog has a food allergy to beef. Side Effects Side effects are rare, even at high doses used in studies. Rarely dogs may vomit or have diarrhea within 24 hours after taking Heartgard. More serious reactions are extremely rare, but could occur if your pet already has an underlying medical condition or is unknowingly infected with heartworms and has not been tested. Collie breeds are also more sensitive to ivermectin (one of the ingredients).

I love how easy it is to give my dogs their Heartgard medicine

5

Heartgard is an excellent product!  My dogs do not mind taking their heartworm medicine, they think it is a treat.  It must taste good since my dogs are very picky eaters.  It is beef flavor so most dogs eat it without any problem.  I did have a different brand one time when Heartgard was out of stock and I struggled getting my dogs to take it.  I had to make sure they didn't spit it back out, but have never had a problem with Heartgard.  It is the perfect size for small dogs.  You give it to them once a month and it prevents heartworms.  It comes in three different dosage packs for different weight dogs.  The packages are color coded so you can remember which pack to purchase for your dogs weight.  It also treats and prevents roundworms and hookworms in dogs.  Most vets carry heartgard too and recommend it so it is easy to purchase.  I definitely recommend their product to all dog owners and I will never switch to another brand.  Side Effects I have not had any problems with side effects on my chihuahuas

Heartgard chewables in the blue package are a great heartworm preventative that is given once a month.  The dogs love them and thing they are eating a treat!  Please have your dog tested for heartworms, before administering this medicine.  An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Great Heartworm preventative

I have been using these heartworm pills for years.  I have always had small dogs and I always worry about giving them pills because of their small size.  Every vet I have ever had recommends this product.  They recommend it because it works.  I have two chinese cresteds who do not have a lot of teeth and I have trouble giving them a lot of the medications they have needed over the years.  I haven't had trouble with this medication.  I can easily slip it into a piece of cheese or chunk of peanut butter and they don't think they are being tricked.  I rescued one of my cresteds and when I got her she was heartworm positive.  After treatment she is now heartworm negative and it is is vitally important that she gets a good heartworm preventative.  The vet we use recommends this and only this for her. There is not much of a cost difference between heartgard and the generic brand.  I would suggest to always go with Heartgard although they have basically the same ingrediants heartgard offers more protection.

This Heartguard is Worth Every Penny

My Maltese is eight years old, and she has had her montly HearGuard religously, and we have never had a problem with heartworms. I know alot of dog owners who do not bother giving their dogs Hearguard because it is "too expensive" or "a waste of time" because they think they their dog lives in a controlled environment. But it only takes one freak accident, and your whole world turns upside down. It is worth the expense to keep your pet protected from this horrible disease. And if it is too much, then you should have thought about that before you became a pet owner. I like how you can buy Hearguard online, as well as from your veterinarian, which gives no excuse to those who "don't know where to buy it." Hearguard is easy to give to your dog. Every month, you pop out a soft, chewy treat and give it to your dog. And the stickers help me to keep track of when I do give it to her. The best part (besides the awesome protection from heart worms) is that my dog loves the taste of these more than her normal treats!

Dog no Heartgard? That's dumb petparent! Heartworms need killing

5

Heartgard 1-25 lbs-- have been a staple at our house since Toby came to live with us 10 years ago. His health from those nasty Texas mosquitoes that carry heartworms needs to be protected monthly and Heartgard 1-25 lbs is yummy and effective. I am so pleased with this product that I recommend it to all my friends with dogs. Heartgard are the greatest way to kill heartworm microfillia and always a treat because the dogs love them. I work with rescue dogs Schnauzers in particular and we often get in Schnauzers that are infected with Heartworms. The treatment is expensive and dangerous for the dog! Heartgard is a once a month easy to administer preventive and you must know that a penny of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Heartgard als has additives that protect you beloved dog from hookworms, whipworms and other nasty parasites. So go now don't wait get to your vet and get a prescription for Heartgard. Keep the dog you love from being so sick with a heart full of love instead of a hear full of worms choking off his blood flow. Go pet parent go!!!
