Hartz Breath Strips knock out doggie breath!

4

I love the idea of Hartz Breath Strips. It is something that I definitely wanted to try. Because as much as I love my dog a just cannot stomach doggie breath. It is just the worst! So I was excited to see this product and grabbed it off of the store shelf. The problem started when I tried to give the breath strip to my dog. These are very much like the breath strips for humans in that they dissolve upon putting them in their mouth. The issue for me was getting it in my dogs mouth. He wasn't impressed with the smell of the breath strip so he didn't try to eat it. So I then had to try to get this in my dog's mouth. It became a little messy hen I attempted this because once it gets wet with saliva it gets slimy and messy. Fortunately my dog didn't put up much of a fight and did let me get it in his mouth. That being said they definitely made his breath fresher! It knocked that doggie breath out. So I'd say it may be worth the battle. Quality of Ingredients Contains things like mint and parsley. Side Effects No side effects whatsoever for my dog.

I saw these once when I was looking for other items for my dog. I decided to pick these up to try because my dog has just horrible breath. These come in the little package just like the human version. They have a mint scent to them, which made me concerned that my dog would not want to eat them. My concern was soon confirmed, the first time I tried to give him a strip. He was really not wanting to have any part in trying these breath strips. I finally coerced him into eating this by offering him a treat as well. I noticed a slight change in his breath but nothing significant. I honestly did not think bribing him to put this strip in his mouth hen he clearly did not like it, was worth the little change there was. I have to agree with other reviewers on this, dogs just do not seem to like the taste of these. Side Effects I think these burned my dogs mouth a little bit since he would go straight to his water dish after I gave him one.

It's Better Than Smelling Dog Breath

4

Normally my large breed dogs don't have a problem with bad breath but when they have homemade treats or they eat refrigerated commercial dog food they can get some wicked dog breath. This is made even worse in the summer when they are running around and feel the need to sit right next to me and pant until they cool off. I asked my veterinarian if I needed to start brushing their teeth or using some type of specialty product to help with their occasional dog breath and he suggested trying these. Since this isn't an ongoing problem I wasn't worried that there was an underlying health condition so I ordered these online. They are comparable to the mint flavored breath strips made for humans but my dogs weren't all that keen on them; the first time I tried them one of the dogs immediately went to the water bowl and started lapping it up. The strips seem to dissolve quickly but actually getting them in the dog's mouths was the real issue. My small dog was a lot more receptive to the strips and when I would pull one out of the container he would go crazy but I think part of that is the mint scent; he loves anything with a mint smell or scent to it. The effectiveness of the Hartz Breath Strips all boils down to whether or not you can get your dog to lick it or get it into their mouth. I'd rather have a mint flavored bone that I know they will eat than to fumble around with these and have them start breaking down from their slobber and flop out on the floor or worse get stuck to my fingers. I think the idea of a breath strip for dogs is ingenious but it needs a little bit of work to make it something that's actually usable. The packs have 24 strips in them and they are alcohol and sugar free but my large breed dogs didn't really care for them.

Hartz Breath Strips Work, but Not That Well

3

As much as we love our dogs, one thing that almost all of them suffer from is halitosis. You can't really blame the little guys and gals- they have little control over thr problem and do not have the ability to brush their own teeth or gargle with mouthwash. But there are a few products made specifically for dogs and their bad breath issues and one of them is Hartz Breath Strips. Dog Strip Facts and Commentary: Hartz Breath Strips are small strips similar to the mouthwash breath strips so many of us humans use on a regular basis. The strips are made with mint, parsley, and other ingredients. They are given to a dog directly and they help to eliminate some of the germs and other cuases of bad doggie breath. Hartz Breath Strips are a nice idea in concept and would likely work well if dogs could better accept the taste. But from my experience, dogs do not like these and will not take to them the way they need to in order for them to work properly. You can add a strip to your dogs food, but that may not work either. Some dogs will still avoid them and if they do eat the strips in their food, the food will likely overpower the strips, eliminating the effectiveness. As for their ability to control bad breath, well, they are better than nothing at all and there is a noticeable difference afterward. It isn't anything amazing, but there is a difference and that alone could make them worthy of a try. Bottom Line Viewpoint: My bottom ling on this bad breath buster for dogs is that it is a good idea, but not a great product. Dogs do have bad breath issues that often need to be treated, but a little more development needs to be done on these strips before they are able to work effectively. Quality of Ingredients The ingredients are okay, but could be better so that dogs more readily accept the product Side Effects No side effects at all.

Heartz Breath Strips for Dogs Helps With Bad Breath

3

I saw these breath strips for dogs hanging on the dog food isle in the grocery store. So I thought I would take them home and try them on my dog's bad breath problem. They look just like the little packs that Listerine makes for people. You know, those little strips you put on your tongue, Well I gave one to my older dog as soon as I got home. He did not like the taste much. His breath wasn't as bad but it wasn't all that much better either. At least the doggy kisses were better.I gave them three stars for average. The product was Okay and his breath was more tolerable but I am not sure if they were worth forcing them on him. He really acted like they taste aweful! The strips alone smell nice but his breath was not a lot better. I would not recommend Hartz Breath Strips to my family or my friends. I do not think I will give my dog another breath strip either because he did not like them at all. I would not like it if someone made me take a breath mint if I did not like it.
