great waffle maker for mom and dad!

4

My kids love helping in the kitchen. We thought this would be a fun treat for them. They love it, and I love it, but it's not very kid friendly. I don't expect it to be seeing as it isn't marketed towards kids, but I don't even let my other half use it on his own for the mess. If any mix drips over the back of the maker, it's really hard to get clean. The mix gets stuck in the hinges, and it doesn't cook there, so it just stays a goopy mess. It does the job though. It is extremely simple to use, and doesn't take up a lot of storage space, it is fun for the kids. I'm just a nit picky clean freak and I would rather have one that is a little easier to clean :)

Works well, overall

Overall, this makes some yummy waffles! The price is a bit steep compared to other waffle makers, but I have not tried those waffles to compare to know if the price difference is worth it. It takes longer to make waffles than I expected, but that's probably not the fault of the wafflemaker, but of physics. Another issue I've had with it is that the waffles tend to stick to the maker and get torn apart, but I'm sure a little bit of cooking spray or something like that would prevent that.

Hamilton beach waffle maker supreme

Waffles have been a family staple in my family for years. We recently purchased this waffle maker. The price was reasonable and I liked the fact that it had a larger surface area than some others. This means more waffle for your time. It is simple to use, plug it in and away you go. The surface area is easy to clean and makes perfect waffles every time. Unless of course you walk away and forget about them. The biggest draw back to this maker is the fact that there is no timer - you need to keep a close eye on the waffles. Also extra care should be used when using a untensil to remove the waffles, not to scratch the finish. I have a plastic spatula only rule for this waffle maker. I would only let my kids use this appliance with surpervision. It can get quite hot and care should be taken when using the maker. You wouldn't want to touch the maker with bar skin - ouch for sure !! Over all I give this two thumbs up. In the future I would consider an even bigger model ! I'm a bit lazy LOL

a huge hit in our house!

My mom gave me her waffle maker after I mentioned wanting one of my own to start making homemade waffles to freeze.  She'd never used it!  This is a very basic waffle maker.  Plug it up, wait for it to heat, spray it with cooking spray if needed (my recipe doesn't really need it every time), put your batter in and let it cook.  You do have to babysit this waffle maker.  There's no timer to tell you its done.  The light on it is just to tell you its heating up, not that the waffles are done cooking.  I know there are more advanced versions of this for more money but for the price, you can't beat it.  Also, you only need about 1/3 cup of batter per side.  Otherwise, you'll have a huge mess...trust me, I know. The only downside of this waffle maker is that it only makes 2 waffles at a time!  I also wish the waffles weren't quite as thick.  They end up being rather "puffy" in the end.  Overall, however, I really like this waffle maker.  Mine is white.  A black exterior would be nice. Cleaning it is fairly easy. You just wipe down the waffle plates.  Sometimes, I have bits of waffle get caught up under the framing but a little tugging will get it out.

Waffles for breakfast or anytime

4

Waffles anyone? With this wafflemaker, I can whip out a batch of freshly made waffles anytime my little heart desires. I can save money because its much cheaper to make your own than buy packs of frozen waffles. I can even make a double batch and freeze the excess for my kids to eat on mornings when I don't have time to make waffles. The waffles do take a few minutes at a time to bake. That could be a drawback on hustle and bustle, harried, frenzied school mornings. But that's when you can whip out the waffles you have frozen for days like these. My kids love breakfast foods, and sometimes I make breakfast for supper. Making fresh waffles just makes the experience more special, and more appetizing for my husband. I also like that when making fresh waffles you can customize your ingredients. You can use whole wheat, blueberries, or whatever. Most of the time I use a regular old pancake mix that comes in a box (it has instructions on how to make waffle batter).

great waffles, like you get in the restaurant

If you do not presently have a waffle maker you do not known what you are missing.  I thought that only you could get good waffles was at a restaurant.  How wrong I was, we have taken numerous trips at hotels and all or at least most have continental breakfasts.  You can get a waffle made there so easily.  After numerous times I decided I needed to get one.  I have since bought one for my son at college and his girlfriend one for her apartment.  You can make a great waffle for breakfast easily and quickly with little clean up.  The waffle maker heats up quickly and does not require alot of maintenance.  Some cooking spray, and some mix and you are ready to use your waffle maker.  It can fit on the counter or even in the cabinet, they are in many sizes and shapes and are easily stored.  I have even purchased a very expensive waffle maker in the past and did not last as long as this one.  They are reasonable priced when I say that even as low as 20.00.  Go get one today.
