This toaster is great in many ways....it was inexpensive but not "cheap" in performance or style and design. It is a good size for smaller kitchens and the white color looks nice in most kitchens, I do believe there is a black version available as well. It toasts food items fairly quickly and effectively. The only negative we have dealt with is that once you get above about number 2 on the "darkness" setting, food tends to get very brown! Wouldn't have thought that a setting between 2-3 would results in overdone toast, especially when the top setting number is 5. As long as you watch the setting dial, this toaster is just fine and great for the price. Safety never had any issues w/ safety - never had any smoke or burning smell that is concerning Ease of Cleaning There is a crumb tray that slides out easily and the material the toaster body is made from wipes down easily
