Our Haier Air-Conditioner came with our house that we purchased four years ago. The air-condiitioner was in use by the current owners and we bought it with our house. The second floor of our home does not have central air-conditioning and is very prone to getting hot in the summer. Our two young children sleep upstairs, so it is very important to have an air-conditioner for them to sleep comfortably in the summer time.  We like that it is easy to install from year to year - we don't leave it in the window over the winter. We put it in and take it out for the hot months of the summer. We also like that we can set it to turn on or off at a certain time. You can also program it to stay at a certain temperature. One thing we did learn about air-conditioners is that there are different units for different size rooms. Our Haier air-conditioner is not meant for small rooms, so we had to put it in the hallway in order for it to cool correctly.

The Haier window air conditioner with remote control is the best portable air conditioner I've ever found.  The best thing about it is the remote, if you wake up in the middle of the night and you are cold or hot - you can just click on the remote to make it warmer or colder and it adjusts quickly.  Last summer during the hot months, this was a life saver.  It's easy to install too.
