It serves its purpose. My mom bought this for me to take to school with me so I wouldn't have to rent one. I can't enter a specific cook time for anything, it's either intervals of a minute plus the add 30 seconds button; if you want to cook something for exactly 45 seconds then tough luck. It heats the food so there's that. Only real complaint is that the number 7,8,9 buttons don't work on my model so if I want to cook anything longer that 6 minutes I have to repeated press the 30 seconds button.
