DO NOT GET--NOT WORTH THE MONEY

2

When I first received this printer as a gift, I was ecstatic because it is supposed to use less ink and be more efficient. Also, it should print on both sides, so I could save paper. I have been through 3 printers (while still under warranty they kept replacing them as problems arose) and have had nothing but issues. It no longer prints wireless, on both sides, efficiently, or correctly. I have no control over what it prints, my documents may come out black and white or with big ink blotches. The printer even runs when not plugged into my computer! If I believed in paranormal activity, I would say it's haunted. There are documents that print at night that I tried to print WEEKS before and was never able to. This printer is much more expensive than others and has nothing but problems. I am very frustrated and will NOT be purchasing this again.

Decent printer for small business owners

4

This printer is great for small business owners or just small jobs around the house. It is a bit clunky, definitely not a quiet printer, but has the scanner, copier, fax, and printer all in one. I have never used the fax part of it nor the part where you can print picture from it so I can't review that part. In regards to the printing aspect it does a good job. The cartridges aren't too hard to find and are really easy to install. The scanner does a great job, especially scanning directly in to iphoto. The only time I notice an issue with the scanner is if you are scanning a document. If you lay it on the bed and don't run it through the scan part, it doesn't always capture the full sheet but rather parts of it. At some point my screen that shows where to scan to, number of copies, and what not started to become pixelated. It only shows portions of what it is trying to say but at this point I know what it means. Not sure if this is something I have done during the course of moves and rearranging the office or the printer did on it's own. Either way, not a big deal.

All The Printer You Will Ever Need

5

This printer performs beautifully. You will never miss not using a laser printer. The colors are crisp and true-to-life; the blacks full-black... Performance Works without problems and prints really fast, with crisp letters and almost photo-quality colors. Copy Quality True-to-life. Ink/Paper Use The toner lasts a long time. The printer only holds so many sheets of paper, but refilling the paper tray is very easy. Ease of Use Toner is very easy to change. Jams are relatively easy to fix. Controls are easy to understand. Durability So far, so good... Design Great--except could hold more sheets of paper.

What a horrible printer.

I originally bought this because it wireless capabilities and can print in duplex mode. It also stated that it uses less ink that a traditional laser printer but I really doubt that. This printer takes pain-staking long to load up and its PPM drops dramatically when its printing in duplex mode. Oh and sometimes the printer forgets the print the last two lines of the page when its printing in duplex mode, I don't know why it does this but it drives me insane when this happens. The ink on the pages don't dry too well either and if you ever want to try to highlight a sentence it'll smudge worse than usual. Also I never noticed it before, but after moving the printer next to my desk I noticed it emitted this high pitched buzzing noise. HP replaced the printer for me but after awhile even the replacement started emitting the same noise. This printer also uses multiple cartridges for ink and they don't come cheap. If you think that these ink cartridges will last you a long time, then get ready for a surprise.

Great printer

I purchased the HP Officejet pro 8000 Inkjet printer because I was tired of constantly purchasing and changing expensive ink cartridges. The really nice thing about this printer is that its ink cartridges last a really long time and cost less per page for cartridges. I recommend buying the XL version of the ink cartridges as it last longer and cost cheaper as well. This printer can be connected to a network and works well. While printing, the printing is quiet and print quality is excellent. Print speed is also very good as well. The printer is a little bulky compared to printers I have used in the past. I found that the startup of the printer when turned on to be a little slow and noisy compared to other printers but one it's warmed up, it is fast, smooth, and quiet. Another nice feature on this printer is the duplex printing mechanism that allows you to print on both sides of a paper. The printer is solidly constructed and does not feel flimsy. Installation was pain free as windows automatically installed drivers. You can download and install drivers and software from HP for more printing features and options.

Print from Anywhere within the Building

I only use HP printers.  I have tried wireless in the past and they were not even close to plug-n-play.  This unit is so easy to set-up I bought 3 units.  I even bought one for my parents (completely computer illiterate).  It prints great and also quick.  Buy several!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've really enjoyed my HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless Printer!!

5

When I went looking one weekend for a practical but good laptop that was decently priced, I happened to come across this HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless Printer.  I was heading to the counter to pay for my laptop when the gentleman that was helping me mentioned that they had some pretty good deals on the HP printers when you purchased a laptop of the same brand.  I was not in the market at the time for a printer since I had just bought an all-in-one a few months before.  But I thought what the heck why not check it out since I would be getting a great deal off the original price since I was already going to buy a laptop.  At first I was looking at a regular printer and then I saw this one. I was comparing them side by side and was about to purchase a different one when the salesman pointed out that the HP Officejet Pro 8000 was wireless and that it saves you money in the long run.  It not only save you money in the long run by having to buy less ink but it is also ENERGY STAR approved, which meant I was going to save money on the electricity usage.  So the choice was easy, I went with the HP Officejet Pro 8000.  When I got home and set it up, which was by the way easy to do, I really liked that fact that it was wireless.  I was able to set up my old laptop along with my new laptop to print to this printer wirelessly.  It is so convenient to be able to just print something from wherever I may be in the house, instead of having to take the laptop and connecting the cable from the printer to the laptop just to print something.  At first I didn't like the fact that the papers were falling to the floor, but then I noticed there was a small section that could be pulled out which stopped the papers from falling.  So problem solved!! I do not know if I would recommend this for someone who works in an open office setting because of the noise but it is awesome for use in your home or in a private office.  I'm really glad the salesman mentioned the sale to me.  He got a sale and I got an awesome printer at an awesome price!!  We both won in the end!!

this product is amazing

I love this Printer, it is very efficient. It has amazing print quality, and does not waste ink at all. As a matter of fact the initial ink cartridges that came with the printer lasted me over two months and I print constantly. It is quiet and a great value for the price. Set up was simple and quick. I would highly recommend this product.

The HP Officejet printer could not keep it speed promise in life

1

We bought an HP Officejet printer, assuming the Hewlitt-Packard brand name would buy us quality and less trouble than its cheaper counterparts. Our assumption of more-money-equals-less-trouble was incorrect, though. We used this printer less than one month, in that time, we never did acheive full functionality, like wireless connectivity--the program just ran us in circles when we tried to set that up. The box and packaging touted the SPEED of the printer above all else, however, we found the items spooled forever (like 5 minutes) before printing, although they did print really really fast once they started. Additionally, all the HP programs we were required to install bogged down our computer too much, so we were unable to use any other programs at the same time. Near the end of our month, we ran out of yellow ink. You'd think that perhaps the printer would allow us to keep printing in black-and-white, alas, it was too smart to allow that.
