It's a very easy to use printer.  Four in one is good because you can scan, print, and fax.  However, I like the Lexmark brand a bit better because it allows you to put in the memory card or thumbdrive and load the print job directly to the printer without turning on the computer.  This one doesn't have the option.  Of course, this one is much smaller than the Lexmark.  The instruction to install the software to the computer is very simple and quick.  As with other printers, if you lost the CD software, you could just get it online through the manufacture website.  It's small and compact so it doesn't take up too much space on the desk.  You could adjust the settings to print different sizes paper and envelopes.  The ink lasts pretty long compare to the other printers.  The price for the ink is reasonable compare to other brands.  The print job is clear and neat.  It doesn't smear like other laser jet printers, especially when you have a big print job (over 30 pages).  Like other printers, it does make a lot of noise and it takes a while for it to warm up. I purchased the HP J3680 All-In-One Inkjet Printer for my parents because they needed a printer and fax machine. This All-In-One printer was very easy to set-up just simply plug-in and turn on, but depending on your windows version (mine was windows 7) it should automatically install. the printing was precise and fax was simple and easy to do, especially since my parents are not very computer technical and they found it simple. the only thing i did not like about the All-In-One printer was i had purchased different ink jet cartidriges and seems i am getting an error message that i cannot seem to fix and states i need to clean the contact heads before the error goes away, and not allowing the printer to be used at all.

I definitely wouldn't call this the best printer ever, but it get the job done. So far I've only had about 2 paper jams and it scans like a beauty. Although it does run out of ink quite fast, the ink is cheap to replace. Tech support is amazing and they can solve any problem you throw at them.

I am just so crazily happy and satisfied with my HP J3680 All-In-One InkJet Printer! I have run the gamut of HP printers and other brands since I first bought my seven-year old son his very own computer, way back in the 80s and I have found that the HP J3680 answers 99.9% of what an ideal printer should be, for a stay-at-home part-time entrepreneur. This printer has never let me down! Around my small corner of the garage where I have one desktop and one laptop, I am surrounded by five printers, three of them HPs, one Canon, and one wireless Brother. You must think that I am a printcoholic but the truth is that my HP printers just last forever, my Canon Pixma iP 1500 prints faster and the ink costs half the HP prices, and the Brother is my latest acquisition (from last year) because I felt that I needed to move with the times. Of my three HP printers, I have a small and fast Deskjet D2430 and another all-in-one officejet 6310.  Both of my all-in-one HP printers scan, print, copy and efficiently act as fax machines too. BUT my J3680 cradles its own lightweight telephone handset with a long enough curling cord, thus eliminating the need for an extra telephone set in the garage. The reason why I rated this printer only 99.9% perfect is because I would sometimes scan notable pages from magazines and books, and I also scan to store  important data from plastics like driver's license, passports, and credit cards, just in case they get lost or stolen. These I am able to do with my second all-in-one 6310. However, my J3680 uses Ink cartridges #21and #22 which are the same ones for my HP D2430. So this means that I never run out of ink whenever I need to print.  I just pull out the one I can use and replace the empty cartridge of the other one. Owning an HP Officejet J3680 all-in-one printer has totally changed my life. It has eliminated the stress of not being able to print when one has to, not just for myself but for the whole family. Yes, I am passionate about this, the print quality will keep one guessing which document is the copy;  and as for the economics of it, the cost of the ink and the longevity of HP printers, go figure.

We had a Dell All in One Wireless device that worked wonderfully, it printed quickly, it scanned quickly and I just loved it.  However, when we upgraded wireless routers, we could no longer use the Dell 3 in one we had.  So we purchased a more affordable 3-1 by HP.  It works fine and the print quality is great. However, I find it slow printing and scanning and it definitely is very loud.  In fact, I cannot use it when my son is sleeping in the room overhead because it is so loud.  That is frustrating to me because I need to get things done when my children sleep and having a printer that I can only use when they are awake is a bummer.  Also, again, with three young kids speed is super important and I find that if I use the normal print function it takes forever.  Even when I use the draft quality it still takes a little while.  Also, it seems to take a while to warm up in the beginning.  While it works fine and is definitely a good value, it is not the most convenient machine.

I needed a printer, when ink for my old one became unavaible and expensive to refill old cartridges. this machine fit the bill. It is small and attractive. So, you don't need a big space for it and it looks ok in a more formal room, if you aren't putting it in an office. It is easy to set up and use. It plugs right into usb port and you down load disc for instructions. The fax and scanner are excellent. Printed picture quality is also good. It processes fast, meaning you don't have to wait a long time for pictures to print or scan, which is nice. The color is good on the pictures, but the ink doesn't seem to last all that long. I'm not sure if the cartridges are small or it just uses a lot of ink. The price on the cartridges is reasonable and available at most retail stores or online. Considering how cheap the unit was, it is my only complaint. Also, it asks to align cartridges all the time. I'm not sure why, but it is and easy function to bypass. Overall nice unit.

I bought this to have the convenience of a printer, a scanner, and a fax machine all combined. I like the looks as it doesn't look real cheap like my old one. The price is good for its quality. It was easy to set up to begin to use . I did have some trouble out of its solution center but did the updates and solved my problem. I like the color and the quality of print. Its biggest downfall is the price of the ink cartridges. They don't last long and cost much more than my old printers ink cartridges and don't last as long. It was easy to figure out how to use all the functions. I did have trouble replacing the ink cartridge the first time. I didn't pay attention when I took it out and took me several attempts to get it in right and I don't remember having that problem on my many printers of the past. I wouldn't recommend this for a lot of printing due to the cost but a great convenient machine for home use and the need for  occasional printing.

When the fancy photo printer that my parents had bought me several years past finally broke down with no user-serviceable parts, I figured it was time to move on.  Now that it is so convenient and inexpensive to order photo prints online and in local stores, I wasn't worried about print quality.  Our print needs are very modest -- almost all black and white, and entirely for personal use, so we were looking for a machine that would stand the test of time, but without all the bells and whistles of the higher end printers.  We also wanted to save money. Eight months later, this printer is still doing the job for us! We switched it to print black and white only so that we'd use less ink, and we've never had a complaint about print quality.  It is quiet enough to print without waking my kids up from their nap, and I'm pleased with the speed.  We didn't really need the phone or fax, but the scanner has come in handy more than once.

As a real estate agent I was finding my old fax machine with the #4 that didn't work a little difficult to use when I needed to get something out.  With limited space in my home office I decided on a all-in-one machine to accomodate my needs.  I started doing my research online and boy, can those machines be expensive!!  I have a HP printer that I absoutely love and decided to narrow my search.  From there I decided that since I do not do a lot of printing from home that the speed of the printer was not that important and that I wanted to spend as little as possible for my machine. With my search now narrowed down I located my HEWLETT PACKARD HP J3680.  It has: 1. Compact color All-in-One inkjet printer, scanner, copier, and fax machine 2. Print and copy at speeds up to 20 ppm black and 14 ppm color 3. Fax in full-color as fast as 3 seconds per page 4. 20-sheet ADF and 100-sheet input paper tray 5. High-resolution scanning capabilities up to 19,200 dpi I have to say this machine works GREAT!  It was easy to set up - the scan quality if fantastic and the fax is so easy to work.  Please keep in mind this is an inkjet, coming from a laser printer it is a bit slower and the toner does not last as long.  For use in a small office with not a lot of printing this machine gets an A!
