I purchased this playard for my newborn's arrival. I used it as a first bed for him so that he could sleep in my room during the night. He slept in the rocking seat, which cradled him like a glove. He also took naps in it; it was the only place that comforted him and got him to sleep. Unfortunately, he outgrew the seat's 15 pound limit before he reached two months old! He did adjust easily to the flat surface. Because my son is so large (21 pounds at 5 months), he has already worn a dented outline of himself into the mattress: that is my only qualm in regards to the manufacturing of the playard. We didn't try out the changing table this time around because we had a much studier table that we stored all of the myriad of diaper-changing supplies that wouldn't have fit on the side shelf that attaches to the playard. The vibration and nature sounds are my son's favorite features; he never paid much mind to the light features. This playard comes with many features. Even if a child does not like every thing about this playard, he/she is sure to like some of the features. It is great for any baby of any age!
