I have Rheumatoid Arthritis which can lead to dryness of the eyes. I did not even realize it was dryness that was causing the pain in my eyes, until I read about it being a consequence. In the mornings, my eyes would feel uncomfortable and I thought I just had sleep stuck in them, but no matter how much I rubbed, I could not dislodge the "sleep". Then, I learned that having dry eyes can cause the sensation of something being in your eye, scratching against it. Since then I started using eye drops, but found "normal" ones for "mild" dry eye inadequate and they had to be reapplied too often. Since I found Genteal, after reading about it here on Viewpoints, life is better. It is one of a select group of eye drops that I seek out. And when the "economy size" bottle is purchased, it does not cost much more than other premium drops. It is such a huge relief when I put these drops in my eyes, so cool and refreshing and its a feeling that sometimes lasts the whole day, unheard of with other "weak" products.

I have Sjogren's Syndrome which means I suffer from dry eyes most of the time. This causes burning and watering in spite of a decrease in tear production. I have tried seveal products and found the most relief from Gen Teal lubricant eye drops. Seveal of the products I tried made my eyes burn and did not help. Gen Teal was the most gentle and seemed to give me the longest lasting relief for my dry eyes. I also try to avoid preservatives since they eventually cause problems in addition to the ones I started with. My eyes are precious to me and I love to read which is hard to do when my eyes are so dry. Then there is the time I spend on the computer, which can make my eyes water and burn after a few hours. I would have to give up my surveys and emails without using Gen Teal lubricant drops several times a day. That means you would not be reading my reviews and I would feel even worse about suffering from Sjogren's Syndrome.

I have had multiple corneal abrasions over the past decade and now I have corneal erosion in both eyes and suffer from severe dry eyes. GenTeal Lubricant Eye Gel is extremely helpful in managing my dry eyes. I appreciate the fact that it is preservative free. For daily management of my dry eye, I use GenTeal and the immediate relief it gives my eyes is helpful when I need it most. I do use a prescription product for night time usage as I found GenTeal more helpful during the day for my type of dry eye. It is a gel and very soothing, taking only a few minutes to give complete relief and being a gel, I find it easier to apply than drops. My opinion, after buying just about every eye product available in my area for dry eye, is that GenTeal is a far more superior product than typical lubricating drops that are purchased over the counter. I found out about GenTeal from my opthamologist. GenTeal has made my condition considerably more comfortable.

The GenTeal brand has a variety of products for persons with dry eyes. I have very dry eyes and have tried all their formulations. The Genteal Gel Drops for Moderate/Severe dry eyes has been my favorite. While it says Gel Drops it is a regular drop, but it is slightly thicker than the average eye drop. This keeps the lubricant in the eye for a longer period of time. There is slight blurring of vision immediately upon putting the drop in the eye, but this clears quickly. The soothing comfort lasts for a number of hours. Additionally, these products have a component that becomes preservative free once it is in the eye, sparing your eye from harmful preservatives that are in so many eye drop products. I have tried other products such as Refresh, Systane, and Viva, so far GenTeal has been the best for my eyes. It is competitively priced, available at discount merchants, such as W and K Marts, and at drugstores. I've also found that with regular use of eye drops, my dry eye condition has improved and, as an added bonus, my vision has also improved.
