Love it!

I really enjoy using the Garnier Fructis Surf Hair Texture Paste. My hair is naturally curly and this product changes my curly hair into a less extreme wave. I really love it! The texture paste also makes my hair appear to be very thick. I really like that it is very simple to use. The texture paste also smells good, although the scent is a little strong. There are a few things I do not like about the texture paste. It does not constantly work. I have used it many times and while normally I get nice waves in my hair I sometimes do not. When the texture paste does not work my hair appears to look flat and a little greasy. Also the texture paste is very sticky and the smell of the paste lingers on your hands. Another problem I have with the texture paste is that it needs to be applied when your hair is damp. I sometimes do not remember to apply it at the right time and my hair ends up looking very flat.

Great with short hair

I have pretty short hair and like to keep it simple, never spending more than five minutes on it every morning. I don not like my hair to look like i've used a lot of product in it so gels or wax is out for me. I try to make it look natural and not all rock hard and shiny. I was surprised when I first opened the jar as when I think 'paste' I imagine something thick and dry. The texture on this product is actually soft and mushy, like really wet pudding. Since it's very soft and creamy it spread evenly in the hands and applies evenly my hair. I don't use much, maybe the size of a marble, just enough to apply and get the hold. The method I am most successful with is drying your hair to about 80% and then applying. It never leaves my hair feeling hard or dry and seems to last through the work day. The texture isn't sticky like other creams so it does not feel like you left most of the product in your hand instead of your hair.

Styling my hair has never been so fun

I've always loved to style my hair, this has been going on basically since I've had hair. After going through multiple different brands of hair gels and pastes, this one trumps them all. The downfall of the ones I've tried before Garnier's surf hair is that those gel/pastes would work for a few minutes, maybe an hour, then the hairstyle and shape that I fixed would completely just fall apart. A few of them made my hair way too stiff, so much that even after repeated rinses, the gel would still stick my hair together in a few places. This texture paste is so different in so many great ways. It has never turned my hair rock hard and sticky, it styles the hair while keeping it smooth and clean looking, unlike the very oily/dry look other products can leave. The purpose I bought it was for the hold and obviously the 'surf hair' itself, cause I love that messy look. This helps me pull that look off flawlessly and the price for this paste is very reasonable.

Works great for messy, short looks

Garnier Fructis Surf Hair Texture Paste works great, but it took a little experimenting to figure out how to use properly. After washing and towel drying my hair, I blow dry *almost *all the way, but leave it slightly damp. Then, I scoop out a dime to nickel sized amount and apply it to my hair using a light, tousling motion. Then blow dry a tad more and it's good to go. Too much and your head will feel greasy. Too little and it won't provide any hold. They key is to get the amount *just right*.  Surf Hair Texture Paste also smells good. It's not too perfumey, but it's got a nice, fresh smell. In my short hair, it provides just the right amount of frizz-control and messy texture. I used to by an expensive, salon brand styling paste, but after picking this up on a whim it's easily bumped out the salon brand. Also, the price tag is only a couple bucks, and one container has lasted me almost six months, so I think it's a great value.

You don't need the beach all you need is Garner to get surf hair

When I found this product from Garnier Fructisse I found the answer to spiking my hair. It gives that stiff hold that combined with a small amount of hair spray will keep my hair spiked for days. However, when I,m ready to go with a different style or just want to resume that childhood habit of playing with my hair, it washes out quite simply with one wash using almost any shampoo. On numerous occasions I have gone to the salon with this product in my hair and every time the beautician asks me what product I am using. They frequently state that they haven't come across any product that works as effectively as "surf hair". I even went to one of the most expensive salons around these day's. You know one of those ultra-overpriced mall salons and they could not come up with any product that even came close and that was without even trying to compare cost. When looking at cost the mall salon product was no lie 10xs the cost of the Garnier surf hair.

Garnier Fructis Surf Hair Texture Paste is Not #1

I used to spike my hair and have tried almost every gel on the market. This garnier fructis paste did not work as I had hoped. My hair would likely fall flat or dry out during the day and this paste was just not good. It also came out terribly in any sort of water. Garnier Fructis products are cheap, so on that end it is worth it, but for a little more there are so many other, better brands of styling products available. If I were you and looking for a good styling product, I would pass over Garnier Fructis Surf Hair Texture Paste and pick up some other brands product. I would not recommend even trying this one, unfortunately, but if you are desperate and super cheap, go ahead, just do not expect miracles. I am glad this one works for others as shown through some reviews, but personally I have not acheived any success with the product and will not be using it again for sometime in the future.

My favorite! Garnier Fructis Surf Hair Texture Paste

4

I have thin hair that I tend to wear in the same style for years at a time, and I'm just as consistent with my use of Garnier Fructis Surf Hair - it's practically the only hair product of it's type that I ever use anymore! Garnier Fructis Surf Hair is a great product if you are looking for a strong hold that won't leave your hair looking chunky or shiny. As I said, the hair is a bit thin (not thinning!) but Garnier Fructis Surf Hair gives it great texture, so it doesn't just look like it is laying there all flat. The other thing I like about Garnier Fructis Surf Hair is the great smell! I have been using it for years and I literally never get tired of the subtle citrus smell, which makes every morning a little better. Overall, Garnier Fructis Surf Hair is a great product for someone looking for a light hold that will give their hair some texture. Best of all, it's inexpensive and easy to find in stores.

Holds it's own against the more expensive brands!

I have been using this product for two years now and won't use anything else on my hair for styling.  It's inexpensive. It has a pleasant scent that isn't too overpowering and holds your hair all day long, even in wind, rain, etc.  Even after a nap or a massage, all I have to do is get my hair a little wet, reshape it and the hold comes right back. I used to wear a pretty short, boyish spiky cut and only had to use a small bit of it to last the entire day.  I am now growing my hair out into a longer somewhat spiky/messy look and this product is doing the job with the new style too.   The jar is easy to store and doesn't take up too much space in the cabinet, and when you do leave it out it looks just as stylish as your hair! I have found (as have others) that if you don't wash your hands immediately after using this, it can make your hands and fingers a bit sticky and it takes some really warm water and soap to get it to come off.  Nothing I haven't found to be true with other products, so I can't really say it's a complaint.  If it weren't a little sticky, it wouldn't hold your hair, right?

For the beach-head in all of us.

Absolutely my favorite and most used hair product.  Surf hair is intuitive for the slightly messy slightly textured hair seekers.  If you want slightly textured, slightly messy/wavy hair, you use a little bit on damp or almost dry hair.  If you want really textured, messy/wavy/almost dirty hair, you use a lot.  I love the way my hair still feels light when I use it, and I love that the smell dissipates during the day.  Perfect for adding just a little bit of texture, or to enhance waves.

Surf your hair to your favorite style

When my husband came home with Garnier Fructis Style Surf Hair Testure Paste over a year ago, I thought "Hair" was my department, but was amazed at his purchase. He told me, "Don't buy me anything else for my hair, just this product". Reason? Much of the gels, both designer and generic, would crust and flake at the end of the day, but this product did exactly what he needed and wanted. It has a strong hold, and a great smell. It comes in a jar/container, which makes it easy to use every last bit of the texture paste. And of course, I'm going to use it too. For myself, with long, wavy, sometimes curly hair, this product held my waves/curls together. With my frizziness, it kept most at bay. I could use this too when I use the straightener and my normal to fine hair starts to fly away a bit. This product, I pray, never gets discontinued. I would recommend Garnier Fructis Style Surf Hair Texture Paste Strong Hold to anyone.
