This gps is extra compact, it is the smaller than the normal 3.5" screen gps. Although this gps is made by Garmin, it does not have the same operation and layout as other Garmin gps. First, the gps like to freeze up after running for hours. The battery has to be taken out from the gps to shut down the gps. The gps takes about 2 minutes to load up and another 2 minutes to locate the satellites. It does have a built-in VGA camera and music player which is a plus. One feature that prompt me to purchase this gps is the built-in Wi-Fi but I can say the connection speed is slow. The gps runs on Linux system and it somehow does not run will with gps maps and softwares. For basic gps and for its small size, this is the gps that will get you from point A to point B. If you are looking for a reliable gps that will not fail on you, this is not the best choice.

I found this great little product while browsing on the internet.  the Garmin nuvi 295W has wireless capability that will allow you to browse the internet if you are in a wifi hotspot.  So say you are at Starbucks and need to look up something then this gadget will allow you to do that.  For those of you without a smartphone, like me, this is a great little feature to have.  The fact that it is coupled with a GPS unit makes it that much better.  It can also function as a music player.  It has a slot where you can insert an SD card to expand the units memory.  So now you have three products in one.  You can also access the weather, although I haven't tried it outside a wifi spot so I don't know if you can do it without having wifi access.  The unit itself is very compact and portable.  It is no bigger than a smartphone, so you can take it anywhere.  If you wanted to go for a hike, you could take this to make sure you don't get lost.  If you were in a big city and needed to know how to get somewhere on foot you could also use it to do that.  I haven't had the unit long but from playing around with it, it is very simple to use and an awesome little GPS unit that will do other functions as well.  It is a great value for the price.

I have had this unit for about a month now.  The unit is not great, but it will get you close enough to where you want to go (most of the time.)  I initially thought that the trouble would be fixed by updating maps, but that I guess you get what you pay for.  But I do not have trouble with the volume being too low, which is one of the main complaints I heard prior to purchasing the unit myself.  The unit is also small enough to carry in my pocket and easy to use when driving or walking.
