Coiling Garden Hose is neat and is made to last

5

I hate water hoses laying around in the yard and in our part of the country the summer temperatures are well above one hundred degrees for many days at a time. Hoses do not last very long and they get so hot that they are difficult to even touch. The idea of a hose retracting certainly appealed to me but after buying three of the retractable ones that were less expensive and having them break within months, I decided that they were a waste of money. My wife however decided to surprise me with the Gardner Coiling hose. They are strong, retains their shape and shrinks up to the original size in seconds. I have used this amazing hose now for several months and can't say enough good things about it. They stretch out quickly and recoil just as fast. Neat, clean, and these heavy duty hoses are made to last. My advise don't give up if you have tried those inexpensive hoses that break and the shipping cost is as much as the hoses. Save your time, money and energy buy a Gardener Coiling Hose. They connect together so if you need a longer hose buy two or three of these magic hoses and just connect them together. No leaks and works great.

Gardener's Supply 50' Coiling - easy to use and stores beautifu

Hoses seem to last quite awhile so didn't want to replace mine until I had to but some friends recently gave me two of the Gardener's Supply Coiling Hoses and I am so glad that they did. I love the way they release. Water comes out like magic and the hose is suddenly as long as I need. The best part as far as I am concerned is putting it away. It does all the work and I have this nice clean little ringlet of a hose to store. The water comes out in a nice even flow and stretches out to reach the plants and trees. I keep one of the hoses in the front and one in the back. Was able to do away with the big clunking containers I was storing my hoses in. I think this is a great idea for a gift. I just wonder why no one came up with this idea before. Probably my favorite thing outside to use these days.

It saves me alot of time and hassle.

I really like this hose because you don't have to hassle with the hose by unrolling and fighting kinks out of it.  I wish it was easier to stretch it but it makes up for it because it doesn't need to be rolled back up.  The price isn't too unreasonable either.  If I would add something to it I would add a rubber grip handle to the end of it.

sounds good but so useless

This is such a horrible product.  i was really excited about it when i saw it at costco and was one of the first to buy one.  boy, was that a waste of time and money.  it coils up just fine, the problem is in getting it around and uncoiling it.  you have to fight it constantly.  trying to move it from pot to pot  was just a nightmare.

Like a Slinky on Steroids

The standard garden hose is very functional, but also very heavy and unwieldy.  That's what led me to the Gardener's Supply website to purchase **Item #32-035 - "The Hose That Puts Itself Away "** The **50-foot Coiling Garden Hose** is advertised as a lightweight product that frees you from the headache of tangled hoses.  In theory, the hose is supposed to stretch with you as you move around the yard, and then automatically rebound into a neat coil that can be easily stored.  In reality, it will stretch easily, but doesn't rebound either neatly or easily.  It reminds me of a Slinky that got played with a little too much.  After several uses, it tends to get overly stretched and the coils no longer retract neatly.  Imagine stretching out a spring as far as possible and then releasing it.  Ouch!   Although the hose doesn't tangle in the same way as a traditional hose, it does tangle in such a way that it no longer retracts neatly.  On the plus side, the coiling hose is lightweight and only takes up 36 inches when it's fully closed.  The thin hose is just 1/2 -inch in diameter and it comes in a standard forest green color.  Just like traditional garden hoses, you can add different spray nozzles or wands to suit your particular watering needs. My overall impression with this hose is that it is a great concept that can probably use some design tweaks to make it more long lasting.  In my experience, once the hose was overly stretched it began to be equally as cumbersome (though not as heavy) as the standard hose it had replaced.   In fact, I didn't use it longer than one season; I am back to using old faithful.  The coiling hose may be a good option if you aren't really going to stretch it much.  Otherwise, I'd give it a pass.

Not a value

I am the lucky and blessed owner of a very large property. Often dealing with hoses becomes a necessary evil. I have purchased almost every type of hose in the market trying to resolve a number of commonly faced issues. Primarily hoses that leak, hoses that crack, hoses that tangle and hoses that have enough pressure.  In order to effectively water my garden I often have to connect two or three large hoses together. In this case a coiled hose becomes a challenge instead of providing the advantage advertised. This hose is highly uncomfortable and clunky. I was not happy with my purchase nor do I feel the particular design provides porper value for my money. It may be that for a small yard type of gardner this is the ideal hose but for me it does not make sense. It utilizes lots of space and it does not look aesthetically pleasing. Finally and most importantly this hose is hard to connect to the spigot

Good for the yard but breaks easily

I was tired of having to use the regular hose that doesn't bend easily, doesn't store easily, and was just a hasle to get from one side of the garden to the next.  It would trample my flowers if I didn't watch if carefully and I was always worried about tripping over it myself. I decided to break down and buy one of the the cool light coiled hoses.  Maybe it is just the Gardener supply brand but I was pleased for almost an entire summer until I was wholely displeased.  For most of the summer I loved the hose.  It is extremely light, easy to move, easy to use, I didn't have to worry about my flowers getting tranpled or that I would tirp over the hose.  I wa even able to give my dogs baths outside because it wasn't big and bulky.  But about 2/3 into summer I noticed it started to crack.  Now I was using it daily to water plants but I just don't think it should have begun cracking in the first year.  Maybe you should try a different brand.

Great product for its intended use

This is a super solution when installed in a permanent location where low water volume is adeiquate for the immediate area. I use it at the front of the house to water plants with a wand and rinse off the patio steps and windows. It is ease to pull out and recoils easily on its own without the use of a hose reel or hanger. Just needs a little intellengent care. it has never caused me a problem, but if you try to treat it as portable garden hose, you'll be disappointed.

This is a great hose.  I live in a condominium that has restrictions on what you can keep up front and this is the perfect fit.  I use it right up front to water the plants, wash the car, whatever.  When I', d one it just coils right back up.

to hard to open if you have hand problems, does'nt fit on a hose reel good for storing but that is about all, can't get it around plant easy and it is very stiff to work with.I can't use because of neck and arm injury... not good for sen. or children and is over priced. the good old hoses are the best easy to use with a hose reel.and can be stored even easier
