Not a bad range

3

This range would have been perfect it it could accommodate my frying pans. I can only use two at a time on the front burners or the back burners. I even have problems fitting a stock pots on there too. This is crazy. How are you suppose to cook for a large family or even a gourmet meal using only two burners at a time. I guess next time I will have to trot to the store with pots and pans in hand to test out the range. This makes life in the kitchen unbearable since I love to cook for my family. Thats three times a day every day. At least the double burner grill pan can fit with no problems. How long do you wait before you buy another new stove? Replacing the cookware is out of the question. Because its very high end and was very costly. What's a woman to do to justify such an extravagant purchase in such a short amount of time. At least clean up is a breeze with detergent and water plus paper towel. It's also nice to look at.

Good oven

I've only had this oven 2 months but I really like it so far. I like the 2 part grates and the different sized burners (for different pots). I don't use the pot drawer but I feel like it is wide and tall enough to accommodate many pots and pans. It heats up fast and cooks fast so no complaints here! Also, it is quite a looker (stainless steel) and I get lots of compliments from guests. Temperature Control I have no problem using the controls, they are easy to read and easy to figure out. I have not tested the temperature with a gauge but I imagine it is pretty accurate because everything has come out good. Heat Distribution I think it distributes well as the pots and pans get hot very fast. Durability Only had a few months but so far so good. Design I like the simple design

Great

We've had this stove for about six months now. We rarely eat out so we're constantly using it. The power boil heats up a canning pot full of water surprisingly quickly. Our normal pot, which is also pretty large, heats up in about ten minutes. We love it! Great purchase! Durability I've only had it six months, hopefully it's good. Design I wish it was all stainless steel, not stainless and black.

Nice oven!

We moved to a new home and needed to purchase a new oven and stove. I wanted one that would last a long time and that woud be able to cook well. After reading a ton of reviews we decided to purchase this GE Gas Range. My husband really wanted a gas stove because he likes to see the flame when he is cooking. The one thing that I don't like about gas stoves is that they are usually difficult to clean because there are lots of nooks and crannies. This one isn't too bad. Overall, the stove works well and cooks nicely. The oven is also nice. It heats things well and seems that the temperature is fairly stable. I like that there is also a storage drawer under the oven. This is nice for those bigger pots and pans that don't fit well into the cupboards. I'd recommend!

My husband says it is impossible to burn things in this oven. :) I've burned a lot of things in my short cooking days, but am finding it increasingly difficult to burn things in this fantastic oven. It came with the house we bought about a year ago. I love that it always cooks so consistantly. I've never owned a gas oven/stove before, and will never own a electric one again! I also like the digital settings. No need to guess at the temperature on the dial. You can adjust the button to the desired temp. The only downside of the stove is that it is a bit more of an effort to clean, since I have to take the grills to clean all teh splatters around the stove/under the fire pit. Also, and this is a complaint for all gas stoves...if the water overflows from a pot onto the flame, the flame can go out and the gas still continues. I've had this happen a couple of times. The entire kitchen smelled like gas.

Great product - cooks very well and reliably

If you enjoy a good value, this GE 30" free standing range is the product for you.   The range has an extra large oven, and a fifth burner that is just terrific if you make pan gravy.  The product also includes a nonstick griddle that fits right into the range top.  No more struggling with grill tops that don't fit properly or heat evenly. If you are a baker, the recipes cook perfectly within the time set in your recipe. The rangetop racks, the cooktop heads all clean up easily in the dishwasher.  The self cleaning feature on the oven is very respectable and the large glass front on the door lets you easily see the progress of whatever you are cooking. The powerboil feature is unbelieveably fast.  Huge pots of water for pasta come to a boil almost instantaneously!  The storage drawer is roomy enough for most large roasting pans. The stainless steel exterior does clean up well and the range comes with a sample of GE's stainless steel cleaner.  The cooktop is black enameled and recessed but also cleans up well.  This model does not offer a stainless steel top (at time of my purchase) Much less expensive than the Profile series which have alot of bells and whistles but a much smaller oven and more features than are necessary for the average home cook.

A basic starter range - a step above the Kenner easy bake oven

We have this range in our rental condo (i.e., one we rent from the owner, not the other way around).  It has one tiny capacity burner, two small capacity ones, and one medium capacity burner.  None of the burners has enough BTUs to be able to sear anything quickly.  The burners frequently have problems lighting. The oven is somewhat better, although the temperature setting can be off by as much as 30-50 degrees, depending on the setting.  (We use a commercial oven thermometer to check the temperature, as well as a commercial infrared "point and shoot" type thermometer.)  If you are looking for something at the low end that will boil water, this puppy is yours.  If you like to cook, look elsewhere.  There are lots of restaurant ranges that are being manufactured for home use (they have to add fireproofing to the sides, so that the unit won't set your cabinets on fire).  They have enough BTUs to get a pan hot and caramelize the proteins and sugars in the food.  This one renders everything an even medium-gray.
