My husband and I purchased the GE cafe series DW in October of 2010. We are not happy at all. I have had many items ( including clear glass , flatwear, cups, pans, and plates) come out of the washer looking like I had not run it at all. I was shocked when I noticed it, so I called the service center and the dealer. I had someone come out to look at everything. He said it is installed correctly, and said to me: " to be honest with you Mrs. Vinch I have had many complaints about the cafe series." It is over priced and under powered." "not the best value on the planet."

I purchased this stainless steel dishwasher which is part of the Cafe series along with its matching refrigerator (the one with the French doors), oven, and microwave. It has an industrial look that you would find in a restaurant's kitchen, looks great in our modern kitchen, and is so quiet while going through the wash cycle that I have to put my ear very close to the unit to tell if it is operating. It is a sturdy dishwasher, and what is great about it is that the buttons that you push to select what you want it to do are not in sight; they are concealed under the top of the unit when closed. This gives it a very neat European look. The entire inside of the dishwasher is stainless, it is easy to open and close, and I like the configuration for the placement of dishes, pots and pans and utensils. I especially like the fact that the utensil tray lifts out, enabling me to bring it over to my utensil drawer and empty it there. Most importantly, the GE Cafe dishwasher cleans everything extremely well and doesn't leave spots on my dishes and glasses. However, sometimes the cups and glasses on the top tray collect a little water on the bottom, but I just dry them off before putting them away in the cupboard. Overall, I love my GE Cafe dishwasher!
