I've been a homeowner since 1977 and have been through quite a few dishwashers and without one for a few of those years.  After having to replace so many dishwashers, I did my research for this one in our new home.  After 2 years, I'm glad I made this purchase and I've not needed a service call. I used to have problems with an ugly interior but with a stainless steel interior - it's as beautiful on the inside as the outside.  I ended up with the automatic detergent dispenser which I thought I wouldn't use but wow how great that has been.  With family gatherings and the younger group designated to do the dishes, I've been asked about the detergent.  I just tell them, shut the door and press start.  Load that puppy and forget about it for a month.  The dishes come out as clean as a brand new diamond ring.  There is no residue in the machine or on the dishes.  The interior design works for the dishes I use.  It's great to have the utensil tray on the outside and NOT in the middle. Our new home is an open concept.  There are no walls or partitions between the living, dining, and kitchen.  This machine is quiet.  The only time you hear it is when it's draining and that's because of the air vent at the sink.
