Impressive microwave

5

We really love this microwave! its been in our family for 7 years and, granted, we do take excellent care of it, clean it frequently, and always use plastic microwave covers to prevent food and beverage splatter, but it still looks like new after all this time of daily use. It actually receives a surprising number of compliments from guests who are impressed with it! It is very large and spacious (can fit two standard medium sized plates in it at once), features a turntable that works very nicely, is a very powerful microwave, cooks everything quickly and thoroughly, features all the options you could ever need (inverter defroster, power level, timer, sensor reheat, popcorn, etc.) and has an attractive black and stainless steel design and finish that looks nice in a kitchen and is very easy to keep clean - inside and out. It's a more expensive microwave, in my opinion, but the quality is superior, it is very durable, very spacious, very high powered, very long lasting, and I think is absolutely worth the money - a great value for a solid product. I think the only two minor gripes I have about it are that it has a higher than average wattage, so you need to reduce the power level or it will burn popcorn every time, even with the popcorn button, and I also find the sensor reheat setting to overheat foods so they are blazing hot (again, I prefer to just set the time and use a lower power level for reheats). But this microwave is one we, and everyone who visits out home, loves and when ours finally dies (which we don't think will be for many more years still), our first choice would be an identical replacement.

My GE microwave is easy to clean

4

When our last microwave stopped working, we had to find a microwave quickly. We shopped a few stores and finally purchased our GE microwave at Lowe's. I love the curved inside of the microwave. It makes it easy to wipe and clean the microwave from food splatters. No corners for food to get stuck to. The express cook feature makes it easy to heat food in minute increments. The sensor cooking feature has options for popcorn, beverages, potatoes, vegetables, & chicken or fish. These have been great to help me prevent overheating the food item that I am trying to cook in the microwave. I love the "add 30 seconds" button for things that I can see are not ready - like melting butter, melting cheeses, etc. I used my microwave with a wall mount kit, and have been very happy with the way it fits into the space. This is a great functioning and looking microwave. It does its job & is easy to clean>

Looks good, runs good

First off I have to say the microwave looks nice. The outside appearance does not look tacky. The inside is spacious and has a huge turn table. The most difficult thing about this microwave is understanding how the 'power' levels work. Most of us are used to reheating something simple, making pop-corn or heating up a cup of water. We throw it in and hit the timer. This gadget has several power levels, each having it's own function. The 'high' button allows for up to 30 minutes of cooking. So let's say you wanted to make corn on the cob, typically I would put them in a 9 x 13 pan, put in a little water, add 4 ears of corn and cook for 40 minutes at high. This microwave is a little different. Take the same corn example from above. This time you might out it on level 7 for 30 mintues. (I am not saying this is the exact level you would make it on, I am simply saying that this microwave is a little different then the norm). It has a nice 'soften' button. Take butter from the fridge, zap it and it comes out perfect. No melted butter, just softened to make it spreadable. The inside is very spacious. Over all I would say that this microwave is pretty good. I would probably give it a higher rating if I understood all it's function. The more I experiment the more I am liking it.

Inverter Technology is great!

4

This microwave is mammoth - good and bad.  You can guarantee that anything you want to put in it will fit.  But you lose a good chunk of counter space for that.  The popcorn buttons cooks just a few seconds too long - will microwave manufacturers ever be able to figure that timing out?  I love the inverter defroster, works so much better than any other microwave I've used to defrost frozen meat.  The meat comes out looking like raw meat, not overcooked and dry meat on the edges with frozen meat in the middle.  I love a microwave with a rotating plate to evenly cook my food.  I love that my huge casserole dishes fit in here and I can cook an entire meal in my microwave with one dish.  It's easy to clean and looks so nice with the stainless steel exterior (though that part is not as easy to keep smudge-free).  I don't think I've completely figured out how to use the sensor cooking, but on occasion it has worked wonders... you've gotta be smarter than the machine to get it to work the way its supposed to.  My only real complaint would be the loss of countertop space.  Overall, a great microwave that we've loved for 4 years.

It offers ease-of-use and reliable sensor-cooking feature.

This microwave offers ease-of-use and reliable sensor-cooking feature. It also uses inverter technology, which delivers continuous cooking power for more even results. According to one professional review, the GE Profile is one of very few microwaves that can hold a 9-by-15-inch dish while allowing the turntable to rotate properly. However, this model is very large and takes up considerable counter space.
