I have owned a few microwaves in my lifetime. This has to be one of the worse I have ever owned. For starters, it has a convenience guide (guide to tell you how long to cook certain foods) if only it would work right. It doesn't even cook right, if you have soup in a bowl, the bowl is so hot you need potholders to hold it and the soup is still cold. After about a month of having this microwave, the door would pop open, so i put a piece of tape on inside near latches just to keep the door closed. After about four months of having this microwave, I removed the turntable to wipe it. Under the turntable I noticed white and brown which I thought was food, wrong, it was paint and rust. The more I wiped, the more paint and rust came off from the bottom of the microwave. I have had General Electric products before and never had any problems. I took pictures of the inside of the microwave and the broken latches and sent to General Electric. To this day, I have not heard anything back from them and that was about a year ago. I am so disappointed in this microwave and also their support team.

I recently purchased the GE 1.1 cu. ft. Microwave Oven, White, WES1130DMWW. I wanted a mid-size microwave to replace our recently expired microwave that was a really large, family-size one. The old microwave was also a GE, and it served us very well for nearly 12 years. So far, I have no complaints about the new one. It is large enough to easily heat up anything I want. The 12 inch turntable ensures that everything heats evenly. The preset express cook buttons are just like we had on the old one and come in handy for a quick cook job. I think the exterior is attractive and easy to clean, and the size is just right. It is also surprisingly light weight. I have used the defrost feature once so far, and I think it did a great job without starting to cook the edges of the meat. I would recommend this microwave to anyone who wants a mid-size countertop microwave.

Our son purchased this microwave for us to replace a very reliable long lasting one of another brand. This Ge microwave he purchased for us was a very inexpensive brand at a sale price. It worked okay for a while-we have maybe had this one for less than 2 years. Now it does not seem to heat very evenly at all-the outside of the food gets extremely hot while the middle stays cold-requiring much stopping to stir! Also as I was wiping out the inside I thought the top of the microwave was spattered with food only to find that the paint was chipping off the top!! Who know what is in the paint -if it is toxic or not- since it is made in Malaysia  I no longer trust  using this microwave as I would hate to find paint chips in our food. The buttons, timers  and door seem to work fine thoughas they should on such a new microwave. I guess as far as the inside paint finish and heating evenness goes-you get what you pay for!

The good news is at the end of the day this is a really great microwave. The bad news is there is one flaw that just aggravates me to bits! When you set the kitchen timer, you can't turn it off, you have to wait for it to time out. So if you accidently put in 3:30 intead of :30, you can't correct it. (I looked in the manual and everything, no luck) But really that's all I do not like about it. It heats the food really well and evenly. It cooks so well, in fact, if the recommended cooking time is 3-4 minutes, you definitely want to go with 3! The presets are pretty handy and I have found them to be accurate. It is big enough to fit anything short of a turkey in there, yet is compact enough that it doesn't take up all the space on the counter. It makes a moderate amount of noise, not any more than the average microwave, in my opinion. I really like this microwave, it seems well built and that it is a good, quality appliance.
