When my 15 year old Kenmore microwave broke down I decided I would purchase a modernized microwave that had a rotating plate and digital buttons. I didn't want to spend a whole lot but I wanted to get a microwave that would last me another 15 years. I purchased the G.E. JES1142SPSS at a great low price, it has a stainless steel look, and will plug into a basic 120V, 15 amp outlet. When I first used it I was so excited to use the different features because my old microwave was simple and basic. This microwave has 1 touch controls and makes it very easy to use. I love the auto and time defrost button, you enter the weight of the food you want thawed, and it automatically sets the defrosting time and power level or you can enter everything yourself. Then there's a control lockout button that locks the oven preventing it from being used by accident, or my kids trying to use it. The turntable rotates, which is a big plus for me since I've been turning my own foods for years in my old microwave, but this one cooks food evenly by rotating the food while it cooks. Since it's stainless steel it's very easy to keep clean and it adds a modern look to my kitchen. It sits on my countertop and takes up a decent amount of space but it isn't a huge oven. This has been a great addition to help with cooking in the kitchen and I'm thrilled my old microwave conked out. I think the price was reasonable for the quality of the product. Plus it was made in the USA!

We live in a small house, and space is hard to come by. When we remodeled our kitchen we knew we needed something that was space saving. When we came across this microwave we knew it would be perfect! The price was well within our budget too! It was very easy to set up! As far as cooking goes it works real nice, we make lots of things in the microwave. It always cooks thoroughly, and evenly, which is very important to us. It also defrosts things very easily too! I love that it's easy to cook to whatever time that you need it to. We also use the timer feature for baking in our regular oven, the buzz is loud enough that we can hear it from all over our house. Clean up is a breeze, we use the microwave covers, but sometimes things do boil over or explode if we leave it in too long. I attend to any spills right away, and they just wipe right away. We use the microwave all the time and it's holding up really well, it works like the day we bought it!

I purchased this microwave oven after my old 1200 watt Goldstar microwave died. I did not have high expectations about this product, as it was less powerful and I did not believe GE was a reliable brand, but the price was right, so I bought it. I could not have been more wrong! This product has performed every day for the past three years, with daily use. It has all the regular settings/buttons, and it has a popcorn button, which is quite useful. It's very easy to use. To clean, I always put a bowl of water inside, on high, for a few minutes. Then just use a sponge to wipe around the inside. One more thing: it is also very attractive - looks good on the countertop. Performance Have used it almost every day for three years. Settings/Features Has all the normal settings, also a popcorn button that is quite useful. Ease of Cleaning Put a bowl of water inside the microwave, on high for a few minutes. This will create steam, which will make anything stuck inside the microwave to become soft so you can easily wipe off with a sponge. Durability I use mine daily, still performs very well.
