It is a fun toy for my kids to play with

4

My kids absolutly fell in love with this toy.  They have played on it everyday for a week now.  We would not get rid of this for anything.  I would recommend this to a friend that needs there active children something that will keep the occupied for more than 5 mins.  The only thing is that is uses a lot of batteries.  6 "AAA and 4 "AA".

Rather cheeply made

Although the machine was a lot of fun for my grandson, the first time he dropped the microphone on the floor it would no longer work. In FP's defense, they do offer a replacement microphone for the Star Station but I feel they should realize this is still a "toy" and that kids are hard on toys. It is not a cheap item but I felt it was rather cheaply made. I am going to get the replacement microphone, since my grandson cannot sign along without it.

I did not like this toy because when my son sings he like to dance. And when he dances and doe not see him self on Tv he gets fusterated with it and does not want to play with it. But hey it did keep him busy for about 15 minutes. That is a plus. Also he did not know many of the songs.

This is a great toy for kids who love the sing and dance!

This toy is great for kids who love to sing and dance and love to watch themselves as well.  I do recommend turning the music part down on the star station and volume up on the TV, you can then hear the kids better along with the music, when they sing into it.  I don't like the fact that the actual star station itself(not the microphone) takes batteries, i thought they would have at least made it so it just plugged in.  Either way it's still a great toy, there are so many options, you can buy new muis can then from the microphone you can change the view on the TV, i think it's wonderful.  All 3 of the girls love to sing, dance and watch themselves with this thing!

Cute idea but could use some improvements

My dad purchased a Star Station for my 3 year old for Christmas.  It was an immediate hit...once I finally got it hooked up.  I had to try 3 different TV's for it to work.  It only worked on my newest television set, which was hard to configure b/c we a DVD player, sound system, etc etc hooked up.  Also it is in the basement where the lighting is low which made the picture quality very poor.  ALSO it is a big screen which I'm sure didn't help with the quality.  Thankfully we bought a different cartridge b/c the songs that came with it where not very kid friendly.  We bought typically kid songs which were more to her ability.   It needs too many batteries as well.  I contacted FP for an a/c adaptor b/c there is a plug opening but apparently they don't make one.  Very odd.  B/c of where we had to put the Star Station and its complication of set up it hasn't been used much.  The batteries leaked in it making the spring in one of the battery compartments break off.  Now it is useless.

Pretty cool but my kids get bored after 10 minutes

3

The **Fisher Price Star Station** was one of those "must have" toys that my children received for Christmas last year.  After the initial excitement wore off, it pretty much gathered dust for a few months before coming out of hiding occasionally.  My kids get excited when we hook it up for them, but after about ten minutes, they are bored with it and back it goes to gather dust again.  The music cartridge that was included only contains four songs, which get old REALLY quick, especially if you despise one of the songs!  I never bothered to buy other cartridges for the **Fisher Price Star Station** since my kids prefer to keep the music volume down (thank goodness!) and prefer to watch themselves sing and dance on television. One cool feature of the **Fisher Price Star Station **is that there are five special effect lenses.  My kids enjoying changing it from a clear screen of themselves to the kaleidoscope vision, which is just like looking inside of a real kaleidoscope.  They can also change the lense to double vision, color warp, or one showing a star around their face.  The special effect lenses can be changed easily via the microphone or manually on the base unit.  Note:  the camera has a short range so if you're children like to dance around the room, they will be out of the viewing area and no longer see themselves on the television.  If you buy this toy, you'd better stock up on batteries.  Not only does the base unit require six "C" batteries, but the microphone uses three "AAA" batteries. Even when the **Fisher Price Star Station** is put away and collecting dust, my children enjoy playing with the microphone.  I guess I could have saved some money and bought a play microphone instead of the **Star Station,** but it's still something that my kids enjoy using on occasion.  I would recommend this only to true music-loving children who will spend more than 10 minutes watching themselves sing on television.  Otherwise, save your money and buy a play microphone.

Great idea but song selection is lacking

3

My daighter got the Fisher Price Star Station for Christmas, she uses it occssionally.  She prefers to use it with the music off and listen to her own music (kind of defeating the purpose it it...) She does lke watching herself on TV and listening to herself.  The cartridges are expensive for only having a few song on the, and I think she likes like 2 songs on each.  A waste of money!!  She judt got the Barbie Princess cartridge and she loves this one- because she loves all the Barbie movies and watches them over and over, so she knows all the songs.  The other problem we had is she (Or her friends)forgets to turn the microphone off so everytime she wants to use it I have to replace the batteries- UGH!!  I think it is ok but not all I though it was going to be.

this keeps my daughters attention for 10-15 minutes very limited selection of songs poor picture quality also needs to many batteries in the main unit along with the microphones can  not plug in with adapter no words on the screen can't drop vocals from song so it is pretty much a low grade vido camara that you children can sing along with a very limited selection

Mom, I Wanna Be A Rock Star!

Add the **Star Station by Fisher Price** to your Christmas shopping list!Children (and adults) of all ages are going to love it! Santa brought this for my daughter last year and it's still getting used on a weekly basis.   The **star station** plugs directly into the television with the red/white/yellow adapters.  The star station requires cartridges (more on them below) to play music.  The system comes with one Kidz Bop cartridge.  Turn the power on the system and microphone. ( The newer version has 2 microphones) Child stands in front of the projector and is displayed and heard on t.v.   What a concept! Cartridges for the Star Station are sold separately.   All are  by Kidz Bop, which is today's popular songs sung by kids.  All songs are kid appropriate.  You can choose from Dance Party to Princess songs to Dora songs. My daughter's favorite is "Who let the dogs out?".  We get a kick out of watching her "perform" on t.v and hey, hey she wants to be a rock star! Recommended for kids ages 3-11 years old.
