My cat was diagnosed with pemphigus when he was about 12 months old. The vet at the university's vet school suggested switching him to a grain free food. I liked Felidae because it is made in the United States. Pemphigus is an auto-immune disorder which made my cat miserable. As long as I keep him on Felidae the symptoms seem to stay in check. Quality of Ingredients My cat does love the taste. I've recommended this cat food to friends and family, and also donate bags of it to our local shelter. I also like the fact that you can feed it to all ages of cats. Kittens can eat it, and seniors. Sometimes I think all the different varieties that other cat foods come in, just actually cause problems for pets. Flavor Selection Not a lot of different flavors in the dry food, but that's okay. Sometimes a lot of different ingredients is actually what causes health problems in pets. They do make a canned food, if you want to use that.

I bought this food after researching for a cat food with no by-products.  I tried this one and I will not go back to anything else.  My cats absolutely love this.  It has no by-products and has great ingredients.  My ctas are very happy with their new food.

We started buying this many years ago, though do not buy it regularly, as our cats really rotate in their tastes. But this is a very healthy brand. We do give the wet food more often than dry, but this is not stuffed with carbohydrates that cats do not need. To avoid that, they also have GRAIN FREE version, though harder to find in food stores. Doesn't try to fancy up the food by shape or by container appearance. It does have CHICKEN MEAL, which doesn't mean it is unsafe, but seems that majority of even all-natural cat DRY FOOD has meal in it. This is not like BY-PRODUCTS (with beaks, feathers, fur, nails). Back when there were issues with the gluten in pet food, I wanted to switch my cats immediately. I spent a lot of time looking for a food made in the USA and without gluten. This turned out to be a challeneg, because at the time, the only thing available in most stores contained gluten of some type. I had to find a natural pet store and decided on Felidae. Good quality ingredients, no gluten or corn. My cats eat it up fine and with less gas. I feel that Felidae was the best food for the price--sure you can get a more expensive food, but I feel the quality of Felidae is well worth it. A 15 pound bag lasts about two months with my two cats, which has them on the same schedule for when I buy my dog food. Overall, great product!

Recently, we began to foster cats for a local pet rescue in our city. The only brand of cat food they trust is Felidae. We have happily used Canidae for our dog for nearly two years, so we looked forward to trying their cat formula food. We have now used Felidae with three different foster cats, and all of them have loved it and looked extremely healthy. We give them only one quarter cup in the morning and the afternoon, and they have all had shiny coats, clean teeth, and at a healthy weight. Overweight cats are at risk for a number of feline health afflictions, so maintaining weight is important for our cats. Another reason to feed cats high quality cat food like Felidae is hairballs. Felidae has all of the ingredients needed to prevent hairballs from forming, and what a relief that is! We will continue to use Felidae cat food for as long as we foster, and would continue using it if we ever adopt.

Felidae had been a life saver for the cats I rescue! It is such a wonderful healthy food to bring them back to health after many have been in such a bad situation. With all the recent pet food recalls of even some very highly regarded and "natural" brands were recalled!  I was so happy to be using Felidae all along since they were never involved in any of the recalls! Made me even happier that Felidae has been my choice for over 3 years now! It is wonderful that it is a great all around food for cats and kittens. The ingredients are so good I could probably eat it myself and my cats are all doing so well on this brand I can't praise it enough. Felidae/Canidae also supports rescues with a frequent buyer program that helps us keep the cost down so we can afford to feed the rescues this wonderful food! For anyone who has experienced a cat with urinary problems knows how awful this can be! Felidae has cranberries in it to help with these cats to acidify the urine so they will get less urinary tract infections.
