For our wedding I wanted a new knife set and although I had previously noticed the Farberware knives we've had tended to develop dark spots and not clean as nicely. I thought maybe I would put another set on my registry thinking they may have improved over the years. I was wrong. The set looked very nice when we got it, the knives are sharper than other sets I've owned, but after one cleaning the blades got very dingy. I'm not sure if it's my water or cleaning supplies, but other knife sets have not had the same problem with dark spots so I'm not sure what the problem is.

These knives are a great find for my family. They are nice and sharp and work well for my everyday cooking. My husband sharpens them and hones them for me about once a week so I do not have a problem with them becoming dull. But these must be hand washed right after you are done useing them. If they sit in water or are put in the dish washer they will rust and get these strange brown spots that are not very attractive at all on the blades. So as soon as I am done with them I give them a quick wipe down and I don't have to worry about them getting all icky. They are not what a chef would probebly want in a professional setting but for me and everyday cookers I think these are a great bargin and a good knife. The handles have a good weight to them and feel good in my hand. THey don't feel plastic-y or cheap and the blades are straight and cut well as long as you take care of them. I would def recommend these knives.

I have many Farberware items in my kitchen, and I love them all.  I do NOT, however, have a set of Farberware knives.  I can't tell you how long they stay sharp, if they rust, or really anything else, because mine did not last long enough!  I had a set of black handled knives given to my husband and I as a wedding gift.  They were sharp enough for my needs.  I didn't care much for the way the felt, but it was good enough.  I washed them by hand, and took care of them as I should have.  I was sorely disappointed when the handles and the blades began to separate just two weeks after opening them.  They weren't just a little loose--the blades were literally coming out from the handles.  Farberware is usually a very reliable brand, and I would like to believe that the problem I had was a fluke.  I was not willing to take the risk of trying to exchange my set for an identical one, though.  In the end, I went with a different brand.

I bought this knife set a couple months ago as our old one had worn out completely. The handles and blades are nicely put together, and even with the occasional knife accidentaly getting put through the dishwasher, they are holding up well. I was not impressed with the small serrated knife, it feel flimsy and doesnt cut bread in a straight line, the blade curves with pressure. It has a wide variety of knives, and I like the wood holder that they came in. Its great for keeping them organized. I like that there was a lot of knives, so that you can use one and then toss in the sink and grab another one to avoid cross contaminating food items when preparing a meal. This was a good value and an average set of knives. I use them daily and have had no issues like cuts or dull blades yet. They seem like they will last a while and I would recommend them as an average knife set. I am sure the more expensive ones would be top notch, but this set is a great start and reasonably priced.

The Farberware knife set is a great deal, especially for beginning apartment- or home-owners who need to flesh out their kitchens with a nice set of knives.  Its inexpensive and can be found in your local department store, and the knives come in their own knife block for easy placement on your kitchen counter. The set includes a wide range of knives in all different shapes and sizes - big, small, long, short, etc.  It does not include any serrated knives, however. It also includes a honing rod for helping to keep the knives sharp.  Be aware, however, that the honing rod is not a sharpener.  You can use it to increase the lifetime of the knife blades and to keep them sharp for longer but it will not add sharpness to a dull blade.  These knives will go dull, and do so rather quickly.  While sharp they cut well, but you will need to invest in a knife-sharpener to get the most out of them.

I got this Faberware Cutlery Set is great for small cutting in the kitchen. If you need a biigger knife this doesn't work as well but iof you just need something for small stuff these are great. I have had mine for a year and my husband just had to sharpen them and now they cut just like new. I use the scissors are great for chopping up some vegables and some meat and other things like that. I keep them right by the microwave and the store in a real small spot. I didn't want anything that was way to big and in the way all the time and so these work great. I also wanted something that had some red on it to go with my kitch and these work good for that too. Each knife is a little different and so the cut for certain theings, one of the knives is gear and that it cuts just right and makes a little mark on each thing and makes my vegables look good. it was a perfect gift and I am so happy to have mine.

I really like this Farberware Cutlery Set. It is a great product! I really love that it has all knives I need. I also love that fact that it has a pair of food scissors. They are always sharp and they look great! I love that they come in many different colors. You can get any color of cutlery set that you need to match the color of your kitchen. And they come in a great wood block. I like that the block of cutlery is small enough to fit into your kitchen no matter what the size it is. I love that they stay sharp and look great!! One of the great things about this knife set that it is fairly inexpensive. I know that anyone that needs knife set really would enjoy this set. It is a very reliable set and I am not afraid of using it to cut anything. I don't think that it would break very easily. I also love that it is dishwasher safe. If anyone is looking for a new knife set the Farberware Cutlery Set is the one to get.
