Len has the Fora Glucose Monitoring System, the test strips, and also the Sterile Lancets. He has 2 boxes sent to him every 3 months. These are free with his HMO. He was sent the lancet device when he first starting with Fora. The lancets go into the device for an easy draw of blood. However, when Len and I check our sugar readings, we use the sterile lancet on it's own. The needle is protected with a circular cap. You just twist it off, and save it. Once you have used the tiny needle, it is inserted back into the cap, so that it can be disposed of, without pricking someone. Len tests 2 to 3 times a day, depending on his sugar readings. He uses 2 fingers on both hands, so that his fingers aren't full of 'holes'. These lancets do a great job, and do not make his fingers sore.
