Works for the Money

4

Considering the cost, this lotion is a pretty good value. It is cheaper than most other name brand lotions, and it moisturizes and helps just as well as the leading competition. Combining its effectiveness and its low-cost (at a place like Walmart), it is a good value for the money spent on it, and it should not disappoint. Scent The cocoa butter scent is pretty subtle, but some may still consider it too strong for their personal tastes. For me personally, it's not overwhelming, but I've known some that didn't like it as much. Absorption This lotion absorbs into the body pretty easily, but like many lotions, it does leave a little bit of a residue and greasy feeling. That is common with lotions, and it is less with this one than others. But it is still noticeable and uncomfortable. Effectiveness This lotion helps clear up dry skin pretty effectively, although perhaps not quite as quickly as one would typically like.

Very good in comparison to the Vaseline brand.

We bought this after using the Vaseline counterpart and this is just as good. It's very comparable to it. It smells very similar except it's from the Wal-Mart brand. The bottle isn't as pretty but it's in the same type of pump design and the formula seems to be the same. The lotion is pretty creamy and not too thick or too thin. It has a nice subtle hint of cocoa butter to it and leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized after I use it. I have a little bit of a glow after using this but I don't feel oily or greasy. The main downfall to it is because of the additives in it, it's too heavy to use on tattoos and it stings my piercings. I'm not sure what's in it, but it isn't like original cocoa butter so I try to keep it off of my ink. It does a good job on heels, behind the knees, on knees, and on elbows. It actually feels nice everywhere except the face. It's too much for my face and doesn't feel good on wind or sunburnt skin. Also, I don't think I like the ingredients for my face because I don't want to break out. I give it a 6 overall because it isn't as versatile as cocoa butter. Scent It has a nice scent. It's very cocoa buttery but it's subtle and soft at the same time. Absorption It absorbs really well and doesn't leave me feeling greasy. Effectiveness It is very nice but it isn't as versatile as I would like. This kind of takes away from the potential effectiveness for me.

One of my favs!

The Equate cocoa butter lotion is one of my favorite cocoa butter lotions. It's very inexpensive and I like the way it leaves my skin feeling. It moisturizes well but sometimes I put more than usual on my legs because I have very dry skin. It has a faint scent and doesn't smell bad.

Great product and so inexpensive

This product is great. Gentle on the skin, but effective. It is safe to use with other products on the skin and I see a difference in softness immediately. Scent It is kind of odorless, a light scent of cocoa butter but barely noticeable. Absorption It absorbs after about 3 minutes. Does not leave a greasy coat. Effectiveness I see results immediately my skin looks softer and it seems to even out a little of my skintone, a general lightner.

Not so effective for my dry skin!

Equate normally does a good job of making products that are just as effective as high priced retail brands, but, not so with this lotion. The product details on the bottle say: Healthy skin has a healthy glow.  But dry skin has a dull appearance.  This product penetrates deeply to smooth rough, dry skin and bring back its natural glow.  Gives your skin essential moisture it needs to leave it feeling healthy and smooth.  Rich cocoa butter evens your skin tone.  Conditioning moisturizers leave your skin soft and smooth. For me this was a load of bleep...bleep...bleep!  I naturally purchased the lotion to put on because my skin is dry, but after I used it on my legs and feet, I was still ashy!  Not a good look in the spring time.  Luckily my dress was long, so my legs could not be seen, but my feet were another story! The good points about the lotion are fragrance and price.  The only thing that saved this item from return to the store was me adding some Avon Skin So Soft to the bottle.  Now my feet are not so ashy. I give this lotion 1 thumb up.
