Ink Ink Ink. It's how epson makes they money. Ink costs so little, yet the companies charge so much. If that wasn't bad enough, epson forces you to buy more, ALL THE TIME. They give you 4 seperate ink cartidges, and advertise it as a way to save money, to only replace the one you need. What they omit is that you CANNOT print if ANY of the carts are low. Which means if you have low yellow ink but full black, you can't print in black until you buy the yellow. if that wasn't bad enough, the digital chip each ink cartridge has slowly reads the ink as less and less, even if you don't use any of it. I use mine on black and white only every time, and within a few months, all my color ink was empty according to my software, even though I never printed out a single color document. Because of this there was a class action lawsuit against epson a few years back, in which the consumer won. Epson sent out of store credit to make up for it. AVOID this printer. Go with a wireless brother monochrome lazer printer, or some other brand (canon perhaps) if you need color and scanner.

I can't say that we invested a lot into this machine seeing as how a friend gave it to us since she was going to get rid of it anyway. I don't believe she used it much, but we do every once and a while. I recently used it for a present I am making. I scanned in a lot of pictures and they turned out alright. They were a little blurry, but I can't complain to much. We also do our color printing on this machine, except that the ink cartridges were expensive. We recently purchased some to replace what had been used up and a few months later we are replacing them again. And we didn't even use them that much. I really like it for the scanning/copying qualities. But it uses ink really fast so we will only try to use it to print color images rarely. Overall I would say that this is an average machine. If we wouldn't have gotten it for free I am not sure if we would have purchased it. Seeing as how we didn't buy it it is a good deal for us.

EPSON CX4800 it is a good all in one but it is a little bite slowly with scan. But  for printing the using desktop it is ok. A using first the original ink but it is not very more excellent with a copy ink not original. The different it's not to compare the prize very expensive with the original ink. A buy with six month the copy and it is not difference with orignal ink and with black and color. The cx4800 print a litle bit low for the quality with a photo color with the grocery store. The difference it's a little bit look. But for printing not photo it is very good and with ink no oem you using more paper and the scanner it's very efficace and you want color or black. A pay a very good for it's with three years. With compare with the all in one in the year it's a good deal because it is a without oem original ink. The compare prize with the new it's a little bit with the quality of printing photo. bye bye

Was the Epson Stylus CX4600 & CX4800 a experiment? I ask myself this because neither one I have had last much over one year with minimum usage. I had heard that printers used a lot of ink so I was not surprised my new Epson Stylus CX4600 used so much ink. At a little over 1 year old it did not recognize it was getting ink added and kept asking for more. I called Epson customer service and told the what was happening. I was very impressed with Epson when they told me to discard the printer and they sent me a new one being the Epson Stylus CX4800. The Epson Stylus CX4600 & CX4800 both print beautiful high quality photos and are easy to use so I do like it very much, if the other features still worked. After having the new Epson Stylus CX4800 they sent me for just over one year, the scanner and copier stop working. I called them again and since I had bought the first Epson Stylus CX4600 just over two years ago they would not honor any warranty. I could not believe that out of the two Epson printers I could nor get one to lat for no more than a little over one year. I have had the same Epson Stylus CX4800 for about three years now because it does print beautiful photographs from my computer and my camera. I just hate the fact that I cannot copy or scan anything.

This works as a normal computer printer. You can also scan items to download the digital image onto the computer.  Also works as a regular copying machine. If all you need to do is copy a document, you don't even need to have the computer on which makes it convienient.  The picture qualtiy and printing quality is great for the price of this very affordable all-in-one printer/scanner/copier.  The ink that is needed for this printer is also affordable and easily able to be found at every major store.  I am very happy with this purchase.
