Works pretty well!

5

I have been using Epiduo for probably a couple of months now. I was using a different type before, and I have to say, that Epiduo does work better than the one I was using. I put the Epiduo on right before I go to bed every night. But I only use it when I have acne on my face. I never use it just to use it to try and prevent acne. I put it on before I go to bed and usually overnight it will dry out your acne, which is good. Usually it makes the redness of my acne go down as well. There are some times where it doesn't work as well. For example, if I'm on my period that week, it tends to not work as well for some reason. I don't know if that's just because my acne always gets worse when I'm on my monthly friend or what. But it still does a decent job in getting rid of my acne. Just doesn't seem as powerful as it is when I'm not on my monthly friend. Epiduo works pretty fast and pretty well and efficient compared to other brands that I have experienced with so I would definitely recommend it to teenagers as well as adults.

better than proactive

it's pretty good Effectiveness it works pretty good but it takes quite sometime, but if you use it along with some other neutrogena products, it actually works really good Ease of Application all you do is wash your face, than dry it, than put it on.how easy is that? Convenience the bad thing is that you'll have to use this product at night before you go to bed, so if you were really sleepy or tire that day, you might not put it on Side Effects not much Immediacy takes time

Best treatment I have used

Epiduo is a very specifically designed medication for the treatment of acne. The reason I have given it an 8 is due to the initial break out which came without warning for me. Also, because I am not finished with my recommended 12 weeks yet. Effectiveness Epiduo clears existing spots and then purges all the junk under your skin. This is the initial breakout which is annoying and uncomfortable but it makes me feel so good about my skin. My skin FEELS clearer not just looks. Ease of Application Honestly, wash your face. Wait ten minutes. Apply thin film on problem areas. Can't get any easier. Convenience You can apply it right before bed and then wash it off in the morning. It does its thing while you sleep. What more do you want? Side Effects I was not informed of the initial break out by my doctor when she originally gave me the samples. I was not very happy about it but was not going to stop using it because I read good reviews and want my skin clear. Also, the redness is something that I could do without but having sensitive skin, this is something that will only go away with time. Immediacy Not really sure what this category is in reference too. I am rating dependent upon how long it took to see results. Considering the fact that hormones play a large role in acne, and being a girl who has hormones that surge constantly, it did take a while. My acne has been kind of a roller coaster ride. I never really had bad acne until I started using epiduo. I wanted to clear up my cheeks and stuff before next year. It got worse when I started using epiduo but my skin is becoming more and more clear. I am in my seventh week of using Epiduo gel.

Works well

My dermatologist recommended this product to me because I was having break outs. I was a little skeptical because I really didn't like the commercials that I saw on TV advertising this. Well, I went home and applied it to my affected areas before bedtime. I did that for 2 weeks and I noticed that my face significantly got better. My face did not get any worse than it did. I did not have any more breakouts nor did I get an allergic reaction to this product. It did sting my face just a little but I have sensitive skin. My face did not get dry and flaky. I know that a lot of acne products work by severely drying out the pimple to get it to flake off, but that was not the case here. It doesn't have a medicinal smell either, which I really enjoyed. Overall, if you are struggling with a bout of acne, I would recommend this product to you. It is not irritating to your skin and you will see results quickly.

Finally a gentle acne medication!

I am a huge fan of Epiduo. It is a presciption ance medication that is applied topically. In the past I've tried Proactiv, Retin-A, and many more but none seemed to take care of my acne. I really like Epiduo because it is incredibly gentle on skin. Absolutely no irritation or dryness, which is unheard of with many acne medicatons. You simply wash your face, pat dry, and apply a dime size amount to problem areas. It takes 1-2 weeks for the medication to "kick in" but if you use it on a daily basis then you will see results. In the past several medications bleached my pillow cases when my face touched them, but that hasn't happened with Epiduo! The down side is you have to get it from a dermatologist and it can be pricy, BUT they offer a great rebate and usually you can get tons of samples at your office visit. I strongly suggest this for teens with mild to severe acne or those with sensitive skin. Ease of Application Apply with fingers to clean, dry skin. Convenience Comes in easy to apply tube. Use once per day. Side Effects There could be some slight irritation or dryness but I haven't noticed any myself. More sensitive to sunlight. Immediacy 1-3 weeks until you see results.

Really does help acne

Several years ago, I used first generation retin-A.  This was a difficult product to use because it was very drying.  Often, I still had a zit (although it was generally shrinking), but surrounding the zit was a dry, peeling area and then around that was dry skin that felt like raw hamburger.  These earlier generation retinoids were too caustic to allow everyday use for most people.  However, the epiduo is great because it is milder on skin.  I can use it each day and have not experienced any significant redness or peeling.  It is easy to use because it is only once a day.  In addition, it should be applied to the entire face (excluding the sensitive skin around the eye), rather than just applying it to the acne.  When the dermatologist told me that, I thought I would definitely get dry patches or redness.  If I use this regularly, once per day, I really do see a decrease in the frequency of acne break-outs.

Great, but not so great

I have been using this for a while now, and i have noticed some postive changes. I have clearer skin, and the overall appearance looks a lot healthier and smoother. My doctor said i should use this about 2-3times a day. However, i have just been using it before i have gone to bed and have still gotten good results. However with the good comes the bad. I have noticed some side affects froms this. One major one is that it does dry out my skin. It does not happen all the time, but when it dries out my face it gets super bad. You can tell just by looking at my face that i have it. Another wierd thing that has been happening to be maybe about once or twice a week is when i put the cream on my face it burns. I dont know what cause this, maybe its the dry skin or what. But sometimes it can burn pretty bad for what could be a long time. Overall, i am pretty satisfied with this product. Yes, i have had some side affects, but i think that the outcomes have been better that i thought they would be, making this product work it.

Epiduo: Fast-Acting, Long-Lasting.

Epiduo is a new, prescription-only, gel for moderate-to-severe acne. A combination of adapalene (a retinoid that affects the growth of new pimples and decreases the swelling and inflammation) and benzoyl peroxide, which works to reduce the amount of acne-causing bacteria on your skin. Epiduo clears the acne already present and helps prevent new pimples from forming. Simply apply a thin layer to the affected area(s) once daily. It keeps working throughout the day, through moderate exercise and under makeup. Creamy and mild, Epiduo does not dry out or irritate skin, even sensitive skin. However, when you first start using it, you may see a little drying out on and/or around each pimple. This is normal and will go away within the first few days. Epiduo starts working quickly and also helps to prevent scarring. One caution: when using a topical ointment, such as Epiduo, that contains benzoyl peroxide, avoid any interaction with salicylic acid. This will cause burning and irritation. Take extra caution with sun exposure.
