This made ice four times. Each time it started strong and then seemed to peter out. I didn't realize it was dying, but the fifth time (I used it once a week) it made no ice at all. It seemed to no longer be cold enough to sustain the ice it was trying to make.

I very happily purchased and own the Emerson Portable Ice Maker. This product is awesome and such a grand idea. The Emerson Portable Ice Maker first of all is very easily transported from place to place. It makes perfect ice. This is really good to take to the beach or to any type of outdoor party or get together. The Emerson Portable Ice Maker is great for camping and for pool parties and other things. This product is not that expensive and it works wonderfully. I have had mine for over a year now and I have had no problems whatsoever with this product. I definitely would recommend this Emerson Portable Ice Maker to all of my friends and family. I know you will love it just as much as I love mine. I have gotten so much use out of this ice maker. You know you can also use it at home if you do not have an ice maker in your freezer and it is a heck of a lot easier than using ice trays. So go ahead and give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Emerson ice maker will make small tray full of ice in couple of hours. Pour the water into the tank and it will make ice in 3 sizes. There's no refrigeration. Ice on the tray will eventually melt and fall back into the tank. Seems like there is some kind of sensor that stops making ice when the tray is filled up and touching a metal sensor. Unless the machine is making ice, it's quiet. Even when it's making ice, you hear the fan blowing. I got this as a gift and probably would not buy it on my own. For a small cocktail party of 4 people or so, this may work since it consistently produces ice. I think it took 2-3 hours to fill up about 6-10 cups of ice. If it kept the ice frozen and be bigger in capacity it would be much more use for. At this size, having 6 ice trays in my freezer works much better and takes much smaller room.

One of the great things about this ice maker was that it had great portability while having the ability to make ice extremely quick. I also liked the fact that it made a fair amount. The other thing that I liked was that it would be great for a party boat also known as a pontoon boat.

I absolutely LOVED my Emerson Ice Maker!!! As an ice lover I loved the soft crunch texture of the ice that it made. I used it every day and kept my freezer stocked with ice. It is also great for events or family gatherings. You turn it on and within an hour you have a full basket of ice and it keeps making more to fill the basket. When I first opened it I was surprised at the small size of the basket, but the ice lasted longer than I thought it would. I was very sad when after 6 months the cooling element went out and it no longer worked! They do have a good return policy and the warranty last for a year. I had to send it back to the manufacturer and they replaced the part.

This is my favorite kitchen appliance. I have a large family and we never had enough ice. We did not have money nor space for a full ice maker so we bought this one. We love oit. It does take up room on our counter but it is worth it. It holds plenty of ice and we have it constantly going. The large cubes are hallow and smaller than a traditional cube but it is still great. All you do is keep the compartment filled with water and it creates and store plenty of ice. I was worried that since it was being used constantly that it would wear out, but so far it has prooven to be well built and durable. It is a bit noisy as you hear the ice drop from the maker into the storage comp[artment, but it is a small price to pay for the luxury. It also saves the refigerator door from constantly being opened, and from trays taking up room in the frefridgerator freezer.The only draw back is if it is not on, the ice melts but even overnight the bin stays full just not over flowing

After my parents bought our refrigerator as a Christmas present they were appalled to discover I hadn't gotten the ice maker hooked up and was still doing the old fashioned ice trays with that nasty square ice. I have always loved ice. I really feel it makes the drink. So I got one of these ice makers per my moms recommendation. I LOVE it! It is kind of loud at first, but you get used to the hum and I simply just turn it off at night and other times when it might bother me. It makes amazing ice that is just the right level of hardness. I love that it doesn't really keep the ice cool so it is always soft and not rock hard like the ice in my freezer. I know a lot of people make the ice and then stick it int he freezer but it just makes it way too hard for my taste.  This icemaker has been great. It is easy to clean and works really fast. The first couple of rounds took 20 minutes to make but once it got going I have a full machine in less than an hour every morning. AWESOME product.

We bought the Emerson Ice Maker for our office of 60+ people at the same time that we installed a soda fountain that did not come with crushed ice.  It has performed well for the first few weeks.  It can create cube of several different sizes and and is very easy to refill.  The ice cubes tasted a little funny at first but now the system seems to be cleaned out.  There is nothing like a nice glass of cold seltzer with a few freshly made ice cubes!

   We bought this when a friend of my husband suggested it on one of our camping trips together last year. We have had it since march 2009.We bought it for our camper but it is used 2 or 3 times a week and is kept in the kitchen.     It is small so it does not take up to much room.It fits nice in the camper and only takes 7 minutes to produce first tray of ice.I take it to all of my family parties and get togethers. It also makes three different sizes of ice.      The only downside to the machine is that you can not leave the ice in the machine for a long period of time.It is not a freezer and the ice will melt if left in the machine.I usually move to freezer every few trays full.     We have recommend this to several friends and family.It is will worth the money and is priced reasonably.      my mother and father-in-law have many parties and family get togethers so we are buying them one for christmas
