Good vacuum

4

This is a good vacuum, but not the best. Be careful when dumping the contents because the bottom hatch that opens will break off making it a huge pain to dump. Once it breaks off you will have to realign and hold bottom piece on until you can reattach the whole canister part. I also feel that after using this vacuum for a few years, the suction has gone from very powerful to average. It is also annoying that you must pull the entire piping down in order to correctly use the handheld suction piece. The dumping piece is also confusing; every person that has never used a Dyson before has accidentally let the dust fall out by pulling the wrong trigger first. Maneuverability Pretty easy to maneuver, but hard to get under small spaces compared to other vacuums. Ease of Maintenance Pieces are known to break off and it is hard to find a place to fix them. Suction Performance Suction seems to have been lost after use. Durability Pieces will fall off if you are not super careful and gentle.

Better on Carpet

4

My Dyson DC27. What can I say; I am probably one of the few that doesn't care for it. I have had it for about eight years now, and while it still works, sometimes I question how well it is actually picking up the dust and dirt from my hardwood floor. Before anyone questions it, yes, my husband takes it apart and cleans it out regularly. But for some reason, I have to go over the same spots two and sometimes three times and I can still hear it pick up dust and dirt with each pass. In my opinion the Dyson DC27 vacuum is better on carpet than it is on hardwood floor. I also am not a huge fan of the design. It is very heavy and hard to lug up and down the stairs. Because of this, I now use the Dyson DC27 as my spare vacuum on the second floor (primarily carpeted) that doesn't get vacuumed like the first floor does. I think that Dyson monopolized the markets making people think that it is better, when there are cheaper, better vacuums out there.

Love love love our Dyson

We absolutely love our Dyson. I have recommended it to several friends and two have actually bought one and love it too. These vacuums really have a ton of suction power behind them. We have allergies and this vacuum is the best helper with ridding our house of unwanted dust and allergens. Every vacuum we owned before the Dyson seemed to blow air out of the bag or somewhere from the vacuum. With others, you could smell the dust and stale air coming right back into the room you are trying to clean. This does not happen with our Dyson. There is no funky smell or dust blow back. Also, we are so excited that we can dump the dust immediately. With the easy pop out canister you literally push a button and all the gross dust and junk you just sucked up goes right in the trash. No wasteful bags to replace. We also like the fact you can hand wash the filter for extra allergy protection. I love all the attachments and use them for getting in between the creases by the carpet and baseboard seams, under the beds, the tops of the baseboards, behind furniture and on our wood blinds. We also have hard wood and tile floors and this vacuum works great at picking up the dust or grass we track in. This is a great tool to use for quick clean up. I also use it on our big area rug in the office and I love that it doesn't pull up the rug at the edges or suck it up into the vacuum like other brands tend to do. We would buy this vacuum or any other Dyson model again and again.

The Dyson DC27 Total Clean is a Vacuuming Machine!

5

I knew Dyson was the major name in vacuums these days, and I have to say that I agree. But first, this machine is pretty heavy and would not be suitable for an older person to use. I was very impressed with the different functions of the DC27 Dyson vacuum. It really does pick up everything in sight when you pass over it just one time. The handle design was a little strange to me at first, but you get used to it. You have to pull part of the handle out at the top to have the hose accesible and be able to use the extensions. Starting the vacuum up by pushing your foot on the base of it was also a little awkward for me at first because the base is so bulky. It glides very easily on wood floors as well as carpet, and it really does a great job getting things up off of the carpet. The several attachments that it comes with are great for cleaning drapes, crevices on stairs, and furniture. I would recommend this Dyson to anyone. I think it would be a very good investment for your house.

Guaranteed not to lose suction, and has never done so in 6 years.

We have had our Dyson for nearly 6 years; it has taken a beating both with my home and commercial cleaning and keeps on going. I have never had an issue nor loss of suction. It is a bit heavy, but very user friendly and takes up just about anything (including the hair of 3 black cats). I have noticed a reduction in family allergy symptoms after using this versus another type of vacuum; it was a pricey investment but well worth it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good, sturdy vacuum that will not lose suction, and is guaranteed for 5 years. I have exceeded that amount of time with no issues to date. Maneuverability The ball looks to be more user friendly; this is quite square. Ease of Maintenance All it needs is an emptying of the bin, and a wipe down of the interior parts. Suction Performance I have used nothing better, as a former housekeeper and in my own home. Versatility Converts handily to reach any surface of your home.

now my new carpet has no warranty the dyson voided it.

I hate it hate it hate it. It has no certifications but one from Sweden I think it a kinda real set. It destroyed my carpet. I used it on my new carpet and noticed balding spots. I called because it was under warranty first thing they asked when they came out they asked what vacuum I was using I showed them. I learned that day not to use a vacuum that automatically adjust high because the cause excess fuzzing look next time you empty your that's not dirt your throwing out it carpet and hair. Do not buy the dyson it eats your carpet and void the warranty. I went back to my rainbow vac the time to fill and empty the water is worth every penny I even got my mom a rainbow for mothers day. You want the dirt out rainbow is the only answer.

Dyson picks up great

4

I had high expectations when I purchased this high end vacuum. It has convenient tools and it bagless with washable filters. It picks up well. It gets hard to push when it start to get full. It doesn't get the edges as well as my hoover windtunnel did. The extendable handle turns into a pull out wand/tool that you can put attachments on and that is nice. I think it works well but I didn't think it would get harder to push as it got fuller.

Dyson DC 27 Vacuum

**Dyson DC 27 Vacuum is a dream. I like it a lot. I am proud to be an owner of this outstanding product! Dyson is the best in this field. I think they do rate at the top of the list of great vacuum cleaners. This partuicular one operates very quietly. It also is easy to handle and operate and use. It does hold up well over time. It is simply the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. It's super easy to clean, much better than I expected when I bought it. Dyson products used to be very expensive, even rich people didn't ebven own them (LOL), but now they are super affordable if you want high quality that will last for years. I do not like the fact that the cord is not retractable as I used my sister's once, and her model had a retractable cord. That was neat. But since I am not used to one, that's ok with me. Five stars to the max!**

Power!

Everyone knows Dyson makes vacuum cleaners with the ball and the suction vortex technology.. But this.. THis is going way too far. The Dyson Dc27 does not use the ball.. Its a little harder to get around but wow... this thing can suck up the carpet if you wanted it to. This vacuum is a moster.. a moster that loves to eat dirt.. food and whatever else you let it get over. It uses a canster system like all the other dyson vacuums so you have easy clean up. Its a up right vacuum so its easier on your back and to push around the house.. But this vacuum is for the house.. this feels more like it was built for a larger area.. More of a work vacuum.. the vacuum you take around for a job.. the vacuum that you want to use to get things cleaned up in the first push. If your wanting this for a job.. buy it now..

Bank account emptying, cleaning marvel

There's no getting around it. Even if you find a Dyson on sale, chances are you are still going to be forking over a ton of money for this vacuum. Is it worth it? Probably not for a poor young family just starting out, but for anyone who is going to be vacuuming with this thing for another 20 years and wants something that will last and really make the job easier and more effective, I would definitely say yes. For the first ten years at my household, we used a solid entry level unit which got the job done but was a lot more cumbersome to clean. What I love about this thing is that it is so easy to use that I am much more willing to get it out and vacuum before it gets dirty. Without a get together or others coming over to see your house it is easy to put off vacuuming, but this thing doesn't give you an excuse of being too heavy or awkward to haul out of the closet or storage space. The ball really is revolutionary. Instead of fighting with a stiff, big hipped vacuum cleaner, you can now dodge back and forth around obstacles, curve around furniture and benches and get the place clean in a snap. The sucking power is excellent and cleanup is a breeze.
