I just can't give this mix anything less than a ten, but you had better love dark, rich chocolate to really appreciate this brownie mix. Duncan Hines always has great baking mixes and their brownie mixes live up to this, but the dark chocolate version is so incredibly rich you will need some milk to go with it. You prepare the batter in the traditional way, eggs, oil, water, but it contains a lot more chocolate than the milk chocolate version. It is chewy, fudgey and oh so good. If you don't like things super chocolatey, then you may want to pass on this mix, but for true chocolate lovers this one delivers a great brownie every time.

Have you ever had a craving for a dark chocolate brownie? When I was shopping a couple months ago I saw the Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix boxes on sale and decided to brad a couple to see how they would bake up compared to their regular boxed brownie mixes. This is an easy to make mix and even if you have almost no baking experience, if you follow the instructions you are going to get some great tasting brownies. There are two different ways that you can make them; if you want something that's heavier and richer you use one egg, a third cup of water and third cup of vegetable oil. For something a little lighter you use two eggs, and the same amount of water and vegetable oil. I prefer the heavier version so I went with the first version and was really impressed with the taste of them. You do need to have a properly calibrated oven to make sure the temperature is correct or you could end up with dried out edges or a raw center. I baked mine in a clear glass baking pan and it took about 24 minutes for them to cook completely. To test brownies insert a clean toothpick into the center and if it comes out clean then it is done. If the sides seem done but there's still a little batter on the toothpick, leave the pan in the oven but turn off the heat. That should be enough to allow the center to firm up without drying out the sides of the brownies.

My family and I really like the Duncan Hines dark chocolate brownie mix. These brownies are very affordable. You can make a lot of brownies with one box as there are multiple packages in the box. We always have a lot of brownies left over. After baking, the end result is a soft and yummy batch of brownies. These are a favorite.

My youngest grandson has a severe milk allergy to the point that his lymph nodes swell. He had one biopsied to ensure that he didn't have a medical condition that might be more severe. When the diagnosis of milk allergy came in, of course we were all relieved but we had no idea how hard it would be to find products that do not contain any type milk. He is only five and he is very mature at realizing what he can and cannot eat. Still, his parents try to ensure that he doesn't feel left out by eating things in front of him that he would love to have but can't. I was thrilled when I found this Duncan Hines dark chocolate brownie mix. I read all the ingredients and nowhere on the box could I find milk anywhere so on our last trip, we took the box with us. My daughter read it also (it is almost impossible to believe there is no milk in chocolate) and she ok'd it for us to make these for the kids. My grandson was just thrilled that he could eat these brownies. He hasn't had chocolate anything in a very long time. Thanks Duncan Hines for making my grandson's day a little brighter. These brownies are great!!

I bake a dessert every week and try to be creative.  My "go to" though are Duncan Hines brownies.  I found a recipe for Cheesecake Brownies online somewhere and whenever I make them using any other brownie mix they get just a "ho-hum" reaction.  When I make them w/DH, I get rave reviews!

There was a bake sale at my Mom's church this past summer and Mom bought some brownies (the older lady that made them said she had to cheat and make them from a box this year, but she thought they were real good).  We thought we would give them a try right there and Holy Cow, these were the best brownies we have ever tried from a box.  Mom asked what kind they were and she said **Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate** **mix**.  WOW,  I wouldn't have thought they were dark chocolate didn't even know they had dark chocolate brownies.  They were thick and chewy and the perfect amount of delightful chocolate. After I was done with my brownie I perked up to say "Dark chocolate huh?  Well then they are good for us...Antioxidants...yeah it's all good".  A must to try! These are easy to prepare and a snap to eat.  My husband likes cream cheese frosting on his and for me...just give me my brownie and back away.  These are Outstanding.  Even when they are baking in the oven its a joy to just inhale that wonderful chocolate aroma.
