Piece of Junk.

My husband bought this for his place before we were married. We have the olive green one from a few years ago. I have always had dogs, so I have always needed a great vacuum. My Bissel was no longer usable after a decade so I pulled the Dirt Devil out of the closet....I have been using it for several months. It eats belts, has no suction, doesn't do bare floors, heavy, bulky and hard to manuever, won't roll over it's own cord. For bare floors I have tried EVERY possible adjustment, brush on, brush off. The power brush doesn't work either, I bought a seperate one for my Bissel and it works better with the Dirt Devil than the one it came with.

The Dirt Devil bagless vacuum is small, compatible yet powerful

4

The dirt devil vaccum is great for college students who are lazy and cannot be bothered to buy bags or really vacuum that much. It is easy to move around with a super long cord. It is small but it is extraordinarily powerful for it's size. It has quite a long life guarantee and I would definetly recommend it! It is really light to and maneuverable. I know you have to replace filters for it, but i haven't had to do that yet! (three years). It's extremely cheap and you can buy it in target. It's probably the lowest priced vacuum since it's filters are quite expensive. Something I haven''t bought yet though. Only con is that the filters do kind of get clogged down with hair a lot of the times and emptying out the tray is a hassle. Dirt, dust and hair flies everywhere if you're not careful. It sucks up both on hardwood floor and carpet though. It is very portable and compact so you can store it in the corner of your closet and whip it out whenever you need it. However, I would not recommend it for families with big houses or large floor areas to vacuum, because it does not cover that much area at one time.

Not for everyone

If you want featherlite vacuums, this is not the one for you! It does have its good points, but all in all I would not reccomend this as my first choice to others. First of all, its heavy!, Just to push it myself is like a workout. My children help vacuum as well, and my 12 yr old can barely use it. Second, I can vacuum one room, and I have to go dump the cannister. It gets very frustrating. Also, the twin chambers have a bullet like attachment that haor gets entrapped around, and you have to pull all the hair out. I do not have pets, but with 3 girls with long hair, thats what gets caught in there. There is a foam filter, that I realized after a couple years gets clogged, and even if your canister is perfectly clean, it still wont suck up! The attachments are good, esp the angled slim one. The rotatong brush one I could do without. Small items get caught in the spinning brush and it stops spinning. I wish they sold more bagged vacumms t tell the truth. Thye are lightweright, and yes you have bags, but I hate dumping the cannister of the bagless, dust flies everywhere.

Not impressed, but does an okay job

This was and is my first bagless vacuum cleaner. My old bag vacuum cleaner died and I needed something to replace it. I really wanted to try a Dyson, but just couldn't afford one. I checked our local ads to see what was on sale and this vacuum popped up so I bought it. I have used it on a mixture of floors from hardwood, linoleum, plush carpet, to business flat carpet. It does a fair job at pick up some stuff on carpets. However, on hardwood and linoleum floors - when it set to the lowest floor setting - it tends to kick the dirt from front to back, missing much of the dirt. Also, emptying the canister is not very clean. It tends to create a dust cloud when you release the bottom over the trash. I think it is more suited for being emptied outside than in. Overall, this is just an okay vacuum.

Dirt Devil

I purchase this vacuum thinking I would be getting a good product at a decent price. I knew it was not one of the types of vacuums that would last forever and ever but I had hoped I could get a few good years of use out of it. Almost exactly a year after purchasing this vacuum, it stopped working. It would still run but the suction was almost completely gone. And then it was completely gone. I did not even get all that much use out of this vacuum because I did not use it terribly often. My house does not get a whole lot of dust build-up so I use my vacuum about once every two weeks. And I do not have a huge house (about 1700 square feet of carpeted floor area). I know some people who vacuum weekly. So really this vacuum only gave the equivalent of about six months of suction. Of course the warranty is only for one year and it was just past one year that mine stopped working so I was out of luck. Would not waste money on this item.

Vacuuming is fun again...well almost!

Let's face it. Vacuuming is NOT one of my all time favorite things to do each day. I especially do not like to see the dirt that gets picked up from my floor. HOWEVER. I am so happy with the quality of our Dirt Devil Bagless Cyclone Vacuum. As much as I hate seeing the dirt, I hate vacuum bags even more! Gone are the days where you spill half the mess on the floor because you are trying to get that darn bag from the holder. Gone are the days where it rips open because you have filled it too full. This one is a breeze! You just unattach and dump it! No mess to clean up and no risk of bags ripping or dumping out half way. You also save money by not having to go and buy the bags on top of your vacuum. It is a great product for the money and we have high traffic areas in our house. Occasional pet sitting at our house does not seem to cause a problem. The vacuum is strong enough to clean up even pet hair!

My little Dirt Devil

4

I have used the Dirt Devil brand for a quite a few years now. It is a great low cost supplemental vacuum. This versatile vacuum is good for many things; it is lightweight and environmentally friendly by using the hepa filter. Unlike the larger upright vacuums the Dirt Devil actually picks up the dirt off of a tile floor instead of blowing it around. It is detachable so I can use a hand held vacuum or an upright or connect the hoses for a longer reach. It does not replace our shop vacuum but it certainly fills in all the places the shop vacuum does not. We bought a newer model and the old canister still fits so if anything happens to the canister I have an extra. This review is not only for the vacuum pictured but for Dirt Devil brand in general. We always keep a small hand held one in the trunk for simple messes in the car while traveling. When using one of the cordless vacuums you can easily vacuum the whole house and still have enough juice left for any dry floor disaster and they charge quickly. The car vacuums run out of juice fairly quickly but they come with a dc adapter. I would recommend a Dirt Devil vacuum to anyone that is looking for this type of vacuum.

Having a pet in the house means a lot of dust and loose hair. we looked for a vacuum that will help us to control the mess and bought the Dirt Devil bag less. It's a great Vacuum. I vacuum 3 times a day and its keeps my house clean and hair free. my husband likes it because he doesn't need to mess with bags and to clean it its easy and simple. its makes our life comfortable.

Cool looking piece of poop.

So, I went to help out a friend and clean his house whilst he was out of town. Just trying to be nice. Didn't need a crappy vacuum cleaner to make the job worse than it had to be. Once I managed to get the floors to a point that I could actually vacuum them, I pulled out his vacuum cleaner which, while it looks nifty (that must be how they sell them.) I found it heavy and cumbersome. (Maybe that just means it's heavy-duty and will work well?) Nope. The thing wouldn't even pick up fluff, and what it did pick up, it just kind of whirrled it around and spat it back out. It's hard to manuver, quite noisy, can't get it into corners and just generally made me mad. I eventaully had to drive home and get my own vacuum cleaner to start over and clean up the mess that this Dirt Devil had made.   I'd strongly recommend saving your money and picking the dirt out of your carpets with your fingers. Probably less work and more effective than wrestling with this thing.
