Weight Watchers Digital scale, (not glass)

4

It's better than most budget scales on the market Performance It weighs a little off. You have to step on, step off and step on again before it comes awake. Durability So far our kittens and cats haven broken it yet. It can take a fall from standing on end to being knocked over by one or more of my cats at a full tilt run. Design The design is not bad. It's not pretty but big enough for my size 10 feet. Ease of Use Turning it on and off is a pain. You have to step on it remove your foot and wait for it to register before you can weigh yourself. Accuracy It weighs a little off from my doctor's Health-O-Meter

HoMedics Digital Scale is disappointing

2

For my entire life (and I'm no spring chicken) I had used an analog scale.  I was never happy with them because I could "gain" or "lose" 5 pounds or so just by shifting my weight.  Being a person who has to watch my weight constantly, that was often frustrating.  I eventually decided that a digital scale would solve that problem.  I was wrong. I settled on the HoMedics digital scale model SC401.  The only thing I really like about it is that the battery lasts a long time.  I quickly discovered that it had it's own issues.  After you get on and your weight is determined, you can't make it change by shifting your weight; but you can dramatically alter the results until the reading settles down just by accidently standing differently from time to time. What is really bizarre is that where the scale is sitting on the floor matters!  No kidding - my husband moved it three feet away to a different spot on the same bathroom floor (hard surface - not rug) and our weights went up 10 pounds!  We would move it back to the original place, and we'd lose 10 pounds!  We did it over and over during the next few days just to be sure and it's true.  So now we have to have an "official" position so that we can at least know if we gained or lost, but who knows what the actual numbers are.  It is very frustrating!  Are all digital scales like this?  I hope not.

Digital Glass Scale by Taylor

5

I have been using my Taylor glass scale for five or six years now.  I really like how it blends in with the bathroom.  Most of it is clear glass so it almost blends into the floor - that has actually been a problem a few times when I have banged into it because I did not see it.  So I make sure to have it right up against the wall and out of the way. My favorite aspect of the Taylor glass scale is how accurate it is.  I have tested it a few ways. Every once in a while weigh myself a few times to make sure it is consistent.  The big test for me though was when I started doing Weight Watchers a couple of years ago.  I was so surprised to find that my Taylor glass scale matched the official scale at my weekly Weight Watchers meetings.  When I say that it matched I mean that it said the EXACT same weight down to the tenth of a pound.  Know this, it has been much easier to track my weight at home. The only downside to the Taylor glass scale is that the glass has to be cleaned pretty often.

Great scale, but reads a few pound too heavy

4

I bought a Health O Meter digital bathroom scale a few years ago after I had my second child.  I was simply wanting to track my weight loss as I dieted and exercised. I had used several other scales before, most recently had been a scale with a needle that pointed to the weight that I was.  I wanted something more accurate and easier to read. The digital scale was perfect in that regard.  I would touch the top of the scale and then it would come on.  After a couple of seconds it would be ready for me to step on.  It took about 5-10 seconds to read my weight and showed up very clearly on the scale.  It was much easier than trying to figure out my exact weight using the needle one that sort of swayed a little. The only downside to my scale was that it added about 2 pounds to my weight.  I was a little surprised when I stepped on the scale the first time because I had just come from a doctor's appointment about an hour prior and it showed a 2 lb weight gain, although I'd had nothing to eat or drink.  But I would take that into consideration later on, and just subtract 2 lbs from what it told me. It's very sturdy at well.  My daughters have picked it up and dropped it before and it didn't break...(Thank god!).

Digital Tempered Glass Scale by Taylor

5

I researched and shopped around looking at quite a few scales before investing the money in a Taylor tempered glass digital scale.  I wanted a  scale that was not only sturdy but also accurate.  In all of the models I tried, I preferred the glass scale the best.  The other mechanical scales appeared to be filmsy when stepped on and I wanted a scale that would last a long period of time.  The Taylor tempered glass digital scale that I purchased is extremely sturdy and very easy to program to calculate BMI based on height and weight.  It takes very little battery power to operate as I have yet to replace the batteries in this scale (I have used it daily for over a year).  My scale came with a lot of additional features that I do not use but I would highly recommend a digital scale versus a mechanical scale.  The most positive feature is that it weighs in tenths with a very easy to read screen.  The price was not that much more compared to mechanical scales. The only downside of the glass scale is keeping it clean as it tends to attract dust and footprints!

looks good but not working so good

I have a glass digital scale.  First off let it be know that im a big girl.  I need a scale that goes over 200 pounds.  I thought I found one in my scale.  It was great for the first 2 weeks.  It kept/keeps accurate weight, looks great, is easy to clean.  But then it started flashing letters ... codes i guess.  I got online and tried to look up what the codes meant to no avail.  So, we changed the batttery.  POOF worked fine again.  The battery only lasted this time about 2 months.  Now you need to know that i have 4 daughters who love to watch themselves grow tall and gain some weight so they are constantally on it.  I weigh myself often as does my hsuband but the batter life in our scale is horrible.  The girls have jumped on the scale, slammed the door on the scale, and dropped the scale and it has not broke (surprisingly) so the glass is great.  I would probabally not go with a digital scale next time we buy one simply because of the battery problem.

accurate

I own a digital scale. I have had analog scales in the past and while they were fairly accurate, they were difficult for my husband and I to read and also, they would often need adjusting. We love our new digital scale. FIrst of all, the bright numbers are easy to read. Secondly, it seems very accurate. Our particular brand has a feature that allows you to know if you are standing with your weight evenly distributed. It will give an error message if you are not standing correctly. There is also a memory feature for up to 4 users to keep track of their weight over a period of time. All in all, we really enjoy having a digital scale!
